  1. Double sided tape. It's better to get stolen than someone try to pull it off and break the headlight lense because it's glued to it. Carlo's installation tip (Thanks to kcorro)... -Before you stick them on, do a trial install with masking tap. -Line them up with your bonnet lines exactly where you want it. -Then when it's positioned where you want it, make an outline of the eyelid on the light with some masking tape. -Then remove the eyelids and you have an exact outline of where they should go. -Prepare the double sided tape and drop the eyelids into place within the outlines you created earlier. -Remove the tape and you have perfectly lined up eyelids. -Finally as an extra touch, place some matching coloured electrical tape on the top edge of the headlight to conceal the clear plastic of the headlight in the shut line/gap between the eyelid and bonnet.
  2. Not quite, he has painted the rocker cover gun-metal. It's normally just bare alloy like the rest of the motor. It's very very easy to remove the plastic cover - It's only there for looks. The two nuts at the front and the two black clips at the rear (which tend to break easy when you remove and only cost $2 to replace)

Nice - very different certainly stands out.
  4. So stupid question... Does the installation of an Oil Catch Can help the longevity of a motor even under normal driving (Non-Track) conditions?
  5. Welcome :D Probably your first stop would be looking at a Cold Air Intake. There's quite a number available for the car, Injen, AEM, TRD and CES. There's also cheaper brands available but I would stick to the main stream ones above. All have shown gains of around 5 or more kw ATW.
  6. Yes it tends to emit a smell similar to a burning clutch but not as strong after a hard drive.
  7. Must mean the car is really quick to reach a higher trap speed in a shorter distance :P :P :P Chill... I'm equally just trying to stir you :D
  8. Not at all. More than anything, it's not so much the the volume that changes, it's more the tone of the intake sound. It's sounds far more ballsy. Idle to 2500rpm it sounds no different, from there onwards you'll hear the difference. When you do it your fuel consumption will increase for the first week or two, because you keep putting your foot down to hear it :D
  9. so this intake resonator acts sort of like a muffler on the exhaust? yea im kinda considering doing what Bitracer did on his intake, and for me.. that involves taking that white box out That's right. If you want to see how it goes without going to the trouble of removing the resonator (and then having to put it back in if you're not happy with it), simply remove your snorkle (It's easily done with the battery removed) and go for a drive. If you like it, then complete the Job to how Bitracer has done. If not then you have only removed the snorkle and not the resonator as well.
  10. That sux. But glad it's sorted. There's always alot of shredded tyre left overs on the monash. They're usually the re-treads delaminating from truck tyres and especially bad in the 3rd (right hand side) lane. You always have to on the look out for them.
  11. I may organise a day to Mornington run when warmer too.
  12. Yes, Cool air is better. What I'm stating is that the location of the factory snorkle v the location of the airbox open makes little or no difference in terms of air temperature.
  13. It's also an alternative to a shift light
  14. With the placement of the original intake snorkle, Although close to the bonnet line, it's still sucking in air mostly from the engine bay, especially being up high. Removing the snorkle, the engine is then feeding from below the fuse box which is much the same thing. I tried with a pipe running below the headlight and the engine is far more responsive with no snorkle or pipe.
  15. The 'White Box' is an intake resonator, it's designed to make the intake sound quieter on 1zz's to meet ADR regs. 2zz's don't have it because the motor comes under a different classification that allows from more intake noise. If you completely remove your intake snorkle from the airbox, you by-pass this and give your engine more response and a much nicer intake noise.
  16. Colours should be reversed, start off blue then turn red in lift.
  17. Next time, can everyone bring along a radio so we don't lose anyone.
  18. East GoodBoyz Knox BigBum!!! If you want these in High Res, let me know and I can email them to you, these pics have been scaled down.
  19. They do fit, I sometimes use one when parking in sh!tty spots
  20. So if I leave my car unlocked, I can upgrade to a Levin Steering wheel? :D
  21. Most likely more gym required :P Best thing to do is when your car goes into service, ask them loosen the nuts and then do them up with a rattle gun. If your friendly with your service manager, you may be able to just pop in and they'll do it on the spot free of charge. Or anyone you know with a rattle gun. I applied heaps of leverage and it still came back later on until I did this.
