  1. I believe tangcla (Clarence) has done a few of these.
  2. The gearbox has a first gear lock out that won't let allow you to engage it unless virtually stationary. It's normal with a modern gearbox.
  3. :) Thanks Brendan ! Omn1potent: :D That's just too funny!
  4. I couldn't give a toss what Toyota decides to call it as long as they bring it here :D
  5. Corolla T-Sport Kompressor is my prediction
  6. Kcorro's changed his own springs so he know's how to DIY but he's o/seas at the moment. You'd always have to get the 4 wheel wheel alignment though.
  7. Did u catch my run after the green Vectra? pretty pretty please :)
  8. TRD_141 had a dual system on his pre-facelift car and certainly didn't lose power with it (They weren't the stockies though). However, before removing your rear muffler and putting the stock one back, I would really do the DIY ECU reset and give the car a good flogging before doing anything else. In fact after seeing my runs on Sunday and how much the car opened up from 1st to 3rd runs, this is something I'm going to do over the weekend too.
  9. Corolla_2004: Are the Heathcote prices weekday or weekend rates? HDACHE: Omn1potent is just stiring :P All in good fun.
  10. So was the girl! ;) Yeah very nice. :D I'm waiting for you to sell your AEM Danz Yes Yes it's on the list of possible future mods, but my Eibachs must come first wouldn't you agree :D
  11. Water Saver ! :D Autobarn seems to be the only place where I can find yuk-off ( It's a white and orange can with a picture of a volvo on the front! ) and it's about $10 for a can which will last you a good while. If your tyres are dirty, spray it on, then wipe off with a rag and then spray it on again. ;)
  12. It was at NT performance in Footscray. It's the first time we've done it in Melbourne but given the enthusiasm it generated I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes an annual event.
  13. I've got another few pics just waiting for the chance to upload them. I did get two of the Astra's I think.
  14. Don't forget you'll have to invest in a Helmet if you don't have one already.
  15. A set of steel wheels for the drags huh? Tyre retailers or trading post usual sell steel wheels for $25.00
  16. Keep your time slip and let us know how you do. Good Luck ;)
  17. I was using Shell Optimax as per usual. Drag day sounds cool. B)
  18. Can't say I've ever taken note, yesterday was the only the second time my car has kissed the limiter. Maybe the facelift has an increased cut-off point?
  19. If you're wondering my runs were 1st 65kw :o 2nd 75kw :) 3rd 78kw :D Gentle city driving only on weekends is killing my car. Just goes to show what a difference "blowing the cobwebs out" can do. Corolla_2004 was Stock as a Rock !
  20. It was a sensational day and alot of fun. Thanks to Lucio for organising Thanks to the family run business NT Performance. They did a great job, even giving some cars additional runs when they knew they could get that bit more from them. Thanks to all for turning up. :D
  21. Wheel Cleaner: Soapy water, bucket and sponge. Wheel cleaners might work well but if you've seen a wheel that's had that stuff sprayed on to it for a couple of years you'll stop using immediately. It just eats the paint. Tyre Shine: I've used ... Armour All & similar products both spray on and foam type - Nice but collects dirt over time causing tyres to turn brown in sunlight and just doesn't last. Eagle 1 - Very Shiny but silicone based - makes it splatter everywhere and collects dirt over time again making tyres look brown in sunlight (Even when you actually wash the tyres at the same time as the wheels) Yuk-Off - Just the best IMHO. Not quite as glossy as some but it cleans at the same time as giving a glossy black sheen so it doesn't collect any dirt and leaves your tyres looking a nice shiny black. Also lasts for a reasonable amount of time too.
  22. I've done it with a 1/34th nitro 4wd Skyline R34 GTR it's mad fun !
  23. My Public transport experience. Using the bus/train it takes me 50min and $45.00 per week (5 days) and it doesn't always run on time and getting more crowded by the day ( Think Sardines in a can ) Using the Car, I spend $10 a day for parking and $8 a day for tolls + Petrol and Car wear, so either way I can't win !
  24. It happens to me on occassion. However... It happens hot or cold hard driving or gentle driving Aircondition on and off. My car has always run on high octane. It's just random and could happen at any set of lights I stop at, so I can't really say that it's related to anything I do. It's not frequent, but it's there.
