  1. haha yeah..i think the max number of characters u can have here is 9. I had to put the 1s on both sides of my name because DPI wanted to charge me twice for just my name..i said stuff it and put the 1s on the sides..i like it this way..btw my name is Vijitha. So yeah :) Hey I remember seeing your car on freeway one time. I think a saturday night a couple of months ago....I think on Mitchell/Kwinana Fwy going south. That was before I bought my new car. Anyway back to the topic, I noticed the clunk as well when selecting reverse after 20-30 secs from start up. But no clunk when stopping to switch to D on the street. I guess it is the ABS self check! hey you are probably the first person to spot me from the club :)..yup i go down the kwinana fwy south a lot of times as i live in atwell..so you got a 10' touring i see? nice ride mate :)..that clunk is pretty random and sometimes you barely hear it..wouldnt worry about it unless you see the ABS light on the dash :).. Yeah when I 1st got the new car, I was nervous as hell wondering where the noise was coming from. It wasn't until I read this thread that I was able to relax! I was about to start a thread lol Yeah you probably will see me more. Hmmm may need a good photo of my car for my avatar. I am also thinking of changing my numberplates to personalized one.

  3. Last month when I picked up my new purchase, the car already had a full tank so I had no way of knowing what it takes. I let it go to empty after roughly 15-16 days of driving then filled it up to the top with BP Ultimate which was over 2 and half weeks ago. Last thursday night, I was driving my deaf friend to his place and the fuel light showed up and it was in Joondalup area. I tried to find BP petrol station and had no luck so I ended up going to Caltex and picked Caltex Vortex 98. Till today it is now sitting half way thru so yeah BP Ultimate actually did last 15 days where the current fuel should go empty by next thursday by my reckoning. I will check the receipts tonight and go from the date of purchase to the 1st fill up with BP Ultimate to determine how much per litre/100kms did I use on BP and from the date of caltex fill up to when the next fill up will be on the next edited post.
  4. I spotted this nice looking corolla in a Wilson car park. It was in Central Park tower car park and I was right behind it at the exit waiting for the traffic to move on. Cobra stripes, black rims is what attracted my attention. Does anyone know this one?
  5. When I picked it up, it had full tank. It took about 15 days to get it to empty. I picked it up on 28th September and it went empty on last saturday 16th October. I then refilled it with BP Ultimate and now all the sudden nearly a week later i had just gone thru a quarter of tank. Hmm maybe it was the love for pedal to metal for power that caused my fuel usage to go up a bit.
  6. Alright I need to see your car's boot Davo! Where and when do you Perth Aurion owners meet up? I was thinking of getting one next year! Cheers Davo aka DeafDave76 lol
  7. Actually facelift Aurions are from Oct 09 onwards. http://www.caradvice.com.au/41995/toyota-aurion-revised-model-released-today/ Morequick is correct...my new car is the facelifted one.
  8. Hey guys...photos are up. Actually these are from my iPhone taken on last Friday at Central Tower Car Park (where I park for free courtesy of Wilson Parking ). I actually have forgotten to take photos when I was at Garvey Park on Sunday for my dad's 60th birthday. So these iPhones would have to do until I get some decent shots later. To those that thought the colour looked gold, you are correct in fact because it came from those overhead lights. My car is actually silver ash. I have discovered only the negative thing during Sunday...the boot hinges does intrude space. I didn't realise it until I loaded stuff in the boot. I remember reading somewhere here an Aurion owner had modded the boot hinge from gooseneck variety to something akin to fold away? I couldn't find that thread so could someone kindly point that to me?
  9. Spotted a white aurion with black wheels that had red edging. It was seen on Mitchell Freeway north coming from Perth around 12:30 to 1 am last night. I was in my friend's Honda Jazz going back to his place to get my car as I was just coming from buck's party. I am not sure what rego but my hay fever riddled eyes managed to pick out 1DLK something. So anyone know this car?
  10. Well to be honest, I do go to the beach in summer almost every weekend barring any shark sightings. I would rather drive myself down than wait for everyone in family to come together in our van so hence the need for rustguard. I might think I will do the paint and rust protection pack. They are from defensepak company but do I get them thru the dealer or do I go directly to the place that sells them for less than what dealer is offering? i have heard dealers earns commission for this kind of thing?
  11. Hey could someone please point me to the W.A. section for toyota aurion owners? Or is it just this thread that i could talk to the W.A. Aurion owners?
  12. Thanks everyone for the congratulations! I just got back home from a short cruise in the new car
  13. Autogard...never heard of it. Pics will be uploaded this weekend.
  14. Silver ash is the colour but it looks like gold under a street light. A question...does anyone bother with paint protection or rust protection? I haven't put them on but I am thinking about it. I got defensepak tinting chucked in for free after I complained about a number of things that wasn't in the ad when I had it for a test drive. Salesperson's boss agreed to chucking that in for free. And does anyone know if aftermarket seat covers are ok for the seats?
  15. Hey guys, Finally after such long 12 and 4 months since the car accident which wrote off my Magna, I am now a proud new owner of the Aurion. I picked it up last night. I chose to go for Aurion because I have always been a V6 guy plus I couldn't resist the 200kw motor could I? I couldn't see myself into a 4 cyl car with exception of mum's mazda 6 which is ok car. Photos of the car will be up soon. For everyone asking what it is - 2010 MY10 Aurion Touring SE. She will stay stock until warranty expires then I will mod it up to my vision. Only thing I will do is get rid of the rims when my tyres are worn out as they are a bit plain looking but otherwise it's ok. Cheers Dave
  16. Ok City Toyota sounds like a good place for me to service my car there because I work in CBD so I drop my car off and catch bus straight to work...free. If the servicing requires 2 days or more, I probably will ask them to give me the hire car? Also I have a chick named Tracia as my salesperson do you know her? Hmmm new town toyota is near my place as I live in Vic Park. 2 TOCA members working there eh? Do they give you discounts for that? As for northbridge parts place, isn't that on Aberdeen St? Um I apologise i didn't realise there is a maddington and midland car yards. The ones I listed were the big name ones! Hmmm....interesting! It seems general vote is that city toyotas is the way to go for both servicing and buying new car there.
  17. Hi, I want to know the Perth Aurion owners in W.A. who have dealt with Toyota dealers in Perth Metro areas. Recently I have been contacted by Scarb Toyota in Osborne Park for an Aurion that I am currently looking at but deciding ATM. Are they any good? Of the ones on my list: Big Rock Toyota Prosser Toyota (pretty sure I read somewhere it was a bad place for dealing or servicing) Welshpool New Town Toyota Melville Toyota Galleria Toyota City Toyota Your answer will decide which dealer I am going for :) Cheers Dave
  18. Ditch it mate cos 3.0 litre ones are more powerful than 2.5 litre. Don't believe me? Check the specs mate
  19. Yeah! what are you linking to? I've just got an "Unacceptable Use/Against Policy" notification from my company for that He linked to a site that almost caused my computer to crash! You all have been had by Daryl! Maybe you are related to Daryl Sommers after all!
  20. Are you talking about women or a car in general sense?
  21. Yes, the new one will be a V6 pushing out 245KW and a RWD. (i wish) Where did you get thst info from mate?
  22. Interesting info on servicing for us West Coasters! If I do get Aurion in September/October, I will go to the Northbridge service centre. One question, no matter where you bought the car from, be it Welshpool (this is where I might get the aurion from hopefully)or Wangara, would it void the warranty with the dealer you bought the car from if it is not serviced at that dealer's garage?
  23. You should call a few more dealers. $39K drive-away is ridiculous. I paid $32,500! Just a few days ago there were plenty of deelers willing to discount the list price. Jame here is correct. In Perth I have just seen the exact Touring SE car for just $34,500 drive away. You are paying far too much for that where $39k would net you either SX6 or prodigy (not sure which one matches the price as both are pretty close to each other as I know ATX is base model but forgot which one is 2nd and 3rd). I am not sure but I heard Touring SE combines bits of Prodigy (reverse camera with 6 cd audio and dual climate zone), Sportivo SX6 (grill and spoiler and I think side skirts plus start button??) and ATX (except the wheels, pretty much everything standard).
  24. Yep you got that right about switching up from a V6 to V8. I remember when I had the old Toyota 1980 SE-18 hatchback and I upgraded to 1991 Ford EB series 2 Falcon. It didn't feel the same. Power's there yes but the fun of driving it? It disappeared. I then upgraded from Ford Falcon after only 2 years of it ($$$ went down for its repairs hence me f***ing it off) to Mitsubishi Executive spec Magna sedan with some stuff in it that isn't standard on the normal Magna. I am talking like a switch from a 4 cyl to 6 cyl to V6. For the Mitsubishi magna, the power's there but the fun of driving it was back! Now since the demise of the magna last year thru the accident which isn't my fault to begin with, I have been using mum's mazda 2003 model 6 classic since the accident. It was rather unnerving sensation of having to switch back to 4 cyl straight from V6! Now later this year in september time, I will be going to the only V6 on my list, Aurion Touring sedan. The rest of my list are all 4 cyl, 2 of them have direct injection engine. I will be test driving all of them sometime in August to decide which one I feel "connected" to. To be honest, the Mitsubishi Magna was the only car I felt "connected" with. In english, it was my favourite car!
  25. Ok...for a V8 in the SS-V, I am guessing that engine will have AFM which means when not under load, the engine will shut down 4 cyclinders to save fuel economy. If anyone heard this before, Honda Accord V6 had this 1st with its VCM which shuts down 3 cyclinders when not under load before the Holden did. I recently trolled the Holden commodore thread (I am not a member there) and someone actually said it is possible to make more power with tuning on the AFM V8 engine. That was months ago so I don't know if that was true or not. Also...as anyone said, build quality between Holden Commodores and Toyota Aurion is planets apart (think earth as aurion and mars as commodore). Fuel economy wise, a V8 drinks more than Aurion V6 by maybe 5-8 litres more even if it has AFM. Space wise, the Commodore has it. Exterior is already dated and interior as well on all Commodores. Like someone else said, an update is on the way, possibly VF so if I were you, I'd wait for it. Keep the Aurion a bit longer since your mum needs it right? Originally the Commodore was on my list of the cars to buy but my cousin dumped his VE Commodore SV6 sedan because he is moving to Kalgoorlie as part of his new job meaning he gets a new car of his choice while in Kalgoorlie. He says the Commodore has too many parts falling apart so I hope it is not the same story for the SS-V (since the finish would be grades better)
