  1. I shall be there this week to pick up some goodies. :-) And yes it is no where near as cold as washing the car at 7am in shorts and a t-shirt in Sydney.
  2. This is probably the first thing i'd check too. The other thing to note is, how well are the speakers sealed. Were there gaps/holes around the speakers? And are they the same size as the stock speakers.
  3. Lol that video made it look like you were just cruising at the speed limit. Except for the fact that you can hear the reving which is completely weird sounding mind you, and tyre squeal. When is your car ready from the repairers?
  4. Ok to those who still want to look into getting one, here is the part number. TO-PZQ4533030 - GTP Front Skirt - Unit list 427.16+gst
  5. boobies....titties.... hahahaah couldnt help myself My local toyota uses castrol magnetic semi synth.
  6. Well hids were made for cars with projector headlights. This is because they have a solid cutoff in terms of the light output. If you park a car with projectors and hids in front of a wall, you will see that there is a very distinct line at a specific height. Anything above is completely dark. This is where the projectors come in. They stop light going above a certain point which stops glare and the blinding problems. If you put a hid kit into normal headlights, you will have light going everywhere. This is brighter but your vision in terms of distance may actually decrease as you will have hot spots which your eyes will try to adjust to. Perfect hid setup (mind you this is for a left hand drive car) This is what it's like with hid's slapped into stock housing. Notice how there is no cutoff and light going everywhere.
  7. If you are thinking of going custom. I'd get the honda accord cyber front and customize it so that it fits. It'll look hot. http://www.toyotanation.com/photos/showphoto.php/photo/2743/ppuser/30427 And its not that the gtp kit isn't worth it, its moreso you'll be paying full price for it. They rrp for 1300 new. Whereas I got mine from a dealership that had it out the back of their parts warehouse for a fraction if the cost.
  8. What are you after? More bass? Clearer music? I'd just get a basic headunit with pre outs. Then get a set of alpine type s splits. The doors will fit 6.5 without any modifications. All you need to do is drill 4 new holes to mount the speakers in. If you want bass as well you'll have to think about a sub. A set of 6x9 in the parcel shelf will give some and be cheaper too if you don't want to go to the sub route but it won't be any where as good. Installing the headunit and speakers would also be easy.
  9. Agreed. If you are going to use HIDs definitely retro fit some projectors in there. It not so much the focus but the cut off for the light beam to stop the blinding and glare. It doesn't take long driving in front of someone with hids in the standard reflectors housing to get annoying.
  10. Hey. Just to let you know, you car still get the kit but in separate pieces. But this alsu means that it will be very expensive. The front lip by itself has a list cost of $400+. I got my spare one ordered through my parts contact. And they will always be an ordered in part so you won't be able to find one just lying around at a dealer.
  11. Finally home, with 1 stiff knee. Thanks for the organising the meet, Mish, Mark and Pete. The cruise was good, other than those few mishaps. The twisties were a bit short though but I guess we brisbanites are spoilt with numerous huge mountains, a stones throw from the cbd. Nice to put a few faces to cars too! Can't wait for the meet next year! [edit] And the Camry would have been very close to be able to do the whole trip on 1 tank too. It averaged 7.745L/100km with some drafting behind the mighty beast (Northy) and the pocketrocket (313GNT)!!
  12. At the next thursday night meet, I'll pay either you or ingres however much the rooms worked out to be. And my car won't make it down there with 1 tank :(
  13. Funny thing today about my hids. Finally found a shop that sells D2S bulbs so asked how much they were. They said $100 for a pair of 8000k "their own" brand which is a full blown rip off as you can get a set for like $30 on ebay. Furthermore I was actually wanting 6000k as I didnt want them to be too blue since I dont know what the po po is like down there. But since I needed them urgently, as one was starting to switch itself off when hitting rough bumps on the road, I decided to get them. So as I started to install them at home, I noticed they looked a little different to the ebay generic ones. Didnt pay much attention to it as I thought it may have just been a new design. Installed the first one and tested it. It started out white like 6000k and then went yellowish, and I was like WTF. Looked at the second bulb in the pack and noticed it said "Philips - Made in Germany" and had the product code 85122+. This means that I managed to buy these genuine HID bulbs for cheap! Only downside is that, it's yellowish tinged (similar to the beemers and accord euro hid colours) but you can see everything better.
  14. Ok, I'm not going to be soft and coming down with you guys on friday morning and coming up with the group as well.
  15. It could be your alternater is on the verge of failing and may need to be refurbish or replaced.
  16. Getting the steering rack dust boot replaced, on tuesday and giving the car a quick look over and maybe heading to see SB for a detail. I'm tempted to get some KU36s but I dont need new tyres yet as the Adrenalines are still ok... I'll see how everything goes and then decide if I'm coming :P .
  17. Mmmmm there maaaaaaaaaaay be an off chance that I maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay join you guys :P Might need to see brendan on tuesday for a wash by the pro!
  18. NICE little pocket rocket there!!! Were you running high or low boost when we had a run?
  19. I was wondering when you'd chime in about that... No boost till the seals are put in. They are Brisbane bound and should be in my hands by Monday. LIES!!!! I heard boost!!!!!
  20. This is why its better to have a third pedal :P Pity they dont come with one though :( Perfect gear selection every time haha. And I thought it was bad to always nanny the car.
