  1. few years ago and maybe still now though i have not checked it out lately but using vinyl was quite popular in US probably because it took a while until shops started to produce aftermarket eyelids for their altis based corollas. about light going through i am not sure but the vinyl mickytee got is black backed special 3M product called electro?
  2. maybe and all those varieties coming from taiwan just are not up there with the jap stuff like cusco tein tanabe. the other day i heard about another brand called rs. so i enquire about it and was told designed in australia but made in taiwan. the usual price of ~$1,000 per set. the jap stuff does cost a lot more but i believe they will last longer and give less problems. you can even get ones with helper sleeves but never seen anything come out from taiwan with this setup. i think some may want to start saving for replacement shocks once warranty is out. not sure if d2 grant warranty on installations that were not done by their authorised workshops. need to take care of coilovers especially the cheaper varieties as they wear down sooner.
  3. you sure you can get 18x7.5? unless i read it wrong the official catalogue smallest for 18" is 18x8. for 17" you can go 17x7.5
  4. here is one that is raced
  5. for roadworthiness the number must be the same or greater and the letter the same or higher. 88v is a higher grade tyre than 88h. when you look at prices 88h will cost less than 88v.
  6. i have not touched coilovers in years but back when i had them in my car after installation you should drive in a carpark doing figure 8 patterns full lock to seat the springs in and eliminate clunk noise. but the clunk may be due to something else but you may like to try full lock turns.
  7. i just copied your design :) i do like the straight edge design because it has an agressive look to it and it would be easier to produce
  8. you have not said what offset your wheels are. this will make a difference. general scrubbing issues can be solved by removing plastic guards and or rolling the guards (for rear you can roll out the lip). stiffer shocks have blown new shocks.
  9. modified your hubs to fit 5 hole studs?
  10. are you sure you want wheels that protrude from the body? i think would look ugly and be illegal (vic rules). for your application look for offsets that are low but i doubt you will find anything unless custom made. if you are in melb probably good to go racing project they are specialists in modifications.
  11. center caps are sold separately and around $50 each one i have never purchased any. i believe it is better to use the money to get high quality racing nuts something which works.
  12. one of the recent? autosalon magazines (thanks sportiyo for giving them to me) has a workshop feature on ignitions 1zzfe for a piggyback controller. i wish hyper rev would make a release on the zze12#nze12#. favourite japanese book that covers particular model in depth. they seem to do every other car :(
  13. after years of the popular sa90 design weds released (about 1-2 years ago) the
  14. you dont need vinyl for that but just $2 electrical tape vinyl is from a pro signwriting shop. the product mickytee got is made by 3M.
  15. here is the other topic http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...?showtopic=8212 forged was sa90 i think you should get the limited edition on any toyota.
  16. i think you are worrying too much about this shipment. sure it is confusing and there are agents and customs brokers to help with customs clearance but from the sounds of things you do not need this as you are only importing one set of wheels this is quite small. i suggest you send your goods with post as that would be most economical for you. if you were to go with a courier such as dhl, fedex, ups you will pay a lot more for their services especially if you do not have an ongoing business account with them. their services include tracking, clearance and door to door delivery. packages need to be declared for customs purposes and the sender can declare it as a gift, sample of non commercial value (ncv) or goods. i guess real businesses can be reluctant to make false declarations. anyhow you are only importing a set of wheels it is not a big deal unlike you were bringing in a container or half container of wheels. customs knows that a quantity like that would be for commercial purpose. duty/tariff/gst can be owed to the government should the commercial value of your goods exceed the limit allowed as free. should check with customs agent on the limit.
  17. i used to use sa90 on my sedan. there is a photo of it in another topic. it sits very nice and is a strong high quality wheel.
  18. anything that is actually from australia. my feeling though about the levin grill is outdated. something more update would be good like facelift 2005.
  19. i had wed sports racing nuts and they were scratched. i tried masking tape but that breaks or you cannot fit the tool on. in the end although they were titanium and expensive they are only nuts and the scratches add to the race look.
  20. the banner at the top of every page says toyota owners club australia but the pic shows the grill of the euro corolla e12. i think it would be a lot better to show a zze12# since it is australia maybe a member's car that has subscribed to silver membership
