  1. Ouch. That sounds pretty painful. Honestly though, I wouldn't lower my car even if it were done for free. Sure, it looks good but it's just not practical for road driving. I've seen too many idiots with lowered cars going over speed bumps or crappy roads too fast and ripping their bumpers off.
  2. At least the TRD still holds a little bit of uniqueness, but I don't expect that to stay around for much longer. On 2nd thoughts, am I the only one who thinks that it looks a lot like the newer accord euros?
  3. Sigh... sad case how our 1st gen models will probably look so outdated compared to the 3rd gen
  4. Yea I use that. Not too expensive and does a good job. Doesn't leave stains.
  5. looks like he's had some alcantara stiched into the seats, the TRD 3500S had this as opposed to the full leather of the SL, So may of being trying to replicate that? Looks unique. Still can't beat full leather though.
  6. Looks good. Any idea what he did with his seats?
  7. I've used RainX...to be honest though, I haven't really noticed much of a difference, that being said though I haven't really been paying much attention. I highly doubt it would do any damage to the glass, the only thing you might have to be wary of is tinted windows, but I think it's tint safe. I've tried the anti-fog solution that they make as well, but it's a PITA to apply properly as it streaks and hazes etc...almost makes it not worth while. A friend showed me RainX on his car. Made a big difference. Whether it damages the glass or not... I really don't know. I've heard from a couple of people that it could make your glass brittle but I'm not 100% sure. Personally, I don't use it simply cos I'm lazy. Let me know if you find out anything
  8. Grab a couple of MDF from bunnings, cut to size, cut the slots to fit them together. Also have to consider the additional weight. Wood ain't exactly light
  9. Is that the same for the Presaras, DJKOR? If they are the same speakers, they sound pretty good. There's nothing better than cruisin down the street with Boney M, The Bee Gees and Barry Manilow pumpin out at full volume.... No, Presara's have a premium sound system. Not sure about the speakers but I think there's an additional subwoofer. The stock audio really does suck. Bass is uncontrolled and drowns out higher frequencies, not like the higher frequencies are very clear either... <_<
  10. do you know anyone shop in melbourne? Actually, if you read my post above, I do mention that it doesn't work with the aurion! I think that the Philips kits work with the aurion since a few members have mentioned that they installed it in their car with results.
  11. Just chanced upon a german ebay seller. Based on my vast window shopping, I can say that his products are very well priced. BTW he sells hella LEDay and philips daylight as well. Best prices with low shipping costs. Just thought that anyone might want to check there =) http://stores.ebay.de/Auto-Lamp24
  12. Ah wells, 180bucks for a set of LEDs is too much. Have u guys ever realised that local shops sell exactly the same item on ebay for almost 8x the price? The same item on ebay going for 15 bucks sells at 100bucks here in stores. ; my point, most items are of similar quality, made in china. The only difference between generic and branded kits is the automatic switch (dim/turn off DRLs when low beams are turned on). Is it worth the additional cost for this feature? I just bought these for 16.99AUD, + 7bucks postage on ebay. If you look around online, the same item can go for 100+ bucks. Don't waste your money. There's much better uses for it (like beer :P )
  13. Youch. That's expensive. Yea Philips Daylight 4 for below 180AUD. Mine cost 16bucks from an online store and I'm already thinking that they're pretty expensive. It's that automatic switch module that costs more albeit way overpriced... but I'll live without them.
  14. I emailed them and they told me to send it back for a full refund. 10.50 to ship it back and get 40bucks refund. Looks like that's my best bet. Rather than give up and buy the Philips daylight kit, I decided to do it myself. Poked a little hole through the rubber seal in the firewall, pulled a wire through and connected it to the cigarette lighter positive. Connected the negative to battery negative and hooked the LEDs up in parallel. Works fine, although it took me a few hours to figure out everything! I think the LEDs look too small for the car though, going to order a longer set from ebay.
  15. So, I got this and it finally came in. Turns out that they don't work with the Aurion :( The module switches on when it detects fluctuations in the alternator. When I installed it, it turned on for around 10secs then powered down. I suppose it means that the aurion alternator produces a very stable current, which is why this knockoff of the philips DRL isn't sensitive enough to detect the small voltage fluctuations.
  16. I would live with my sportivo rims but given the choice, I would DEFINITELY go for aftermarket rims. Think gunmetal alloy rims (google images) yummmmmm
  17. Why not consider eonon? It's a chinese brand but at least it's branded, has warranty and has newer technology. I was close to buying the G2216 http://www.eonon.com/Car-GPS/2-Din-Car-GPS-DVD/G2216.html paired with the faceplate and harness A0529 http://www.eonon.com/Specific-Models-and-Kits/Kits-and-Harness/A0529.html but I've spent far above 20k to purchase my car and I decided to be a little more frugal and instead did the aux mod which I'm sure that you have seen somewhere below. Anyway I've had the car for a couple of months and love it. Good choice! 200kw over 140kw anyday.
  18. Yes I am holding it on start. So key it over to start and let it go? The old school ignition is not like our push-button ignition Steve. In the keyed ignition, the starter will only crank when the key is held on start. Could've sworn it was, but this is thinking back a long time to when I drove the standard sportivos around Mt Cotton so it sounds like my memory's a bit off (may have been the new Commodore or Falcon there that did it). If a new battery is worth trying, wouldn't it have the same effect (or better) to just try jumper cables first? Perhaps you could just disconnect your battery and attach another car's battery to your car through jumper cables?
  19. has anyone thought of putting them behind the grill? like police car style? :P
  20. You're probably right in all of the above but IMHO, the aurion badges, especially the side door ones are rather tastefully done. Quite unique as well. I can't think of any car (although they probably do exist) that have badges on the side of the front doors. Ford has the XR6 badge near the rear but it doesn't resemble the aurion in any way.
  21. Isn't it rather expensive? I'd rather use that money on something else. Like a carbon fibre gt-wing? I was actually thinking of getting an ATX and putting on a gt-wing Till today I still wonder if I should have.
  22. I can't understand, why would someone debadge their car? Especially the aurion. A debadged aurion simply looks like a nice camry
  23. Honestly I think that the wrx hood scoop looks crappy. It's just way too big for the car. Merc AMG hood vents look damn good though - http://www.mercedes-amg.com/#/home but yea it's all too expensive, I can only afford cheaper mods like LED lighting, etc. I'm just a poor uni student. I don't even have a job =(
  24. Had anyone ever though of doing a wrx style bonnet scoop or some sort of hood vent? That way when the top intake system opens, it would get some kind of forced induction/ram air intake sort of thing? Or would it simply screw up the intake system and destroy the aurion's excellent aerodynamics?
  25. Dealers sell 2 different types here. Both cost 30AUD. There's 2 model aurion's; MY2006 and MY2010. On the MY2006 Aurion, there's a horizontally narrower version for the rear (my preference) Let's call it Type A and the wider version for the side Type B The rear badge for both models are the same, Type A the side badge for the MY2010 aurion is also Type A, same as it's rear badge. Probably a cost cutting measure so that only one version of the badge needs to be produced You may want to contact a toyota dealer here regarding overseas shipping. You can try Melville Toyota: http://www.melvilletoyota.com.au/parts_and_accessories.asp
