at least my exhaust doesn;t fart anymore ;) in saying that i've never got pulled over before by the cops. maybe they think its just a ricer in a noisey corolla :P

thats pretty ****.... i got pulled over ther othernight in my sportivo and that loud as..2.5inch the whole way with extractors and he didnt defect me... you must have had a pri#k of a cop and whats with the unauthorized mod fine..... i got done in nsw for cai and too low and exhaust and i only had a $80 defect fine...? is there that much difference between the states in defect laws..?

Well, I went and got another muffler/resonator added to my exhaust setup to try quieten her down a bit, which it did.. the deep sound of the exhaust is still there (thank god).. but she's much more quieter on idle and from 1k-2.5k rpm. Now I got to get the tints sorted out and head over to VicRoads.. such a pain in my ahole.

even if they get the colour code, there will be different variances in that colour code

i know its a bitch but thats what happened to me, now i got 5 different shades of 209 on my car LOL

fark sounds like a painful job. guy who did my tints said i should be ok if i go to a vicroads that doesnt have the pits to fully check my car out and if i provide the paperwork from the muffler place in addition to the paper work from the tinters, then they will generally not even bother checking the car.

they wont check your whole car. unless, you got defecte and need a rwc? thats what a rwc place is for. vicroads just checks whatever you get defected for is ok now. if in doubt, go when its busy like in the morning. But everytime ive gone to clear my defect theyve never popped my hood (I got a SRI). Even had lengthy chats with vicroads and they didnt even budge. Just checked if car was legal height and wheels were stock and done. I wouldnt stress huey

think imma try source some skirts first. Front bumper looks fine w/out lip atm but sides on the other hand look to bland without skirts.

for the zre, they're rare to come by seeing as c-one no longer exist. only way to source them is from people who sell them off second hand. pitty. I would have gotten them a while ago if they were still available to buy brand new.

u wanna smell brakes? go on the freeway drive til 100kmh and brake to 40 and do that 5 times. u will know what brakes smell like then :)

huey under the side of ur zre there should be a black strip that runs front to back. under there u should be able to see like rectangle shape kinda clips u take them out and remove the existing black strip u then will use those clips to install with ur side skirt. Hope that helps

ahh.. thanks Cuong. so I won't need to buy separate clips, but I will need to buy the screws that are required to secure them to the mudguard?

yes you will need 2 screw of the front also get urself some double sided tape to stick onto the side skirt for it to stay in place. Im sure one of the melb zre boys will be able to help u on this!

@Cuong: lol thanks man - I just remembered earlier that he told me to come back if I'm not totally satisfied with the ride height after a month or so, and he'll look after me :)

yeh I called them up too they said 1950 for parts and labour - reason why Brunswick one is doing it for me is because they did the springs for me last time, and the guy said if I'm not totally happy with the ride height, especially rears, come back and he'll sort the coils for me :)

Depending on finish required, you might have to hit it with a clear too. My painter normally does emblems for about 60 bucks. If you need any more help just shoot me a pm. :)

@Duy: yep I got his license plate number and photos too of his car in front of mine. I also had a good look last night when I got back to the apartment parking lot but still couldn't find anything apart from the nick on my front license plate. Friend of mine also told me to try open the bonnet and close it to make sure it wasn't damaged but it's all good

go thru insurance and clean the car in case there is a spider crack on the bumper. those things if u cant spot it now will show in the future
