I was hit from behind in my old celica at a roundabout, so I feel your'e pain, and I've also hit a hyundai in the rear with my Hilux.. and the Hyundai came off much worse than yours.. Zero damage to Hilux and $3500 damage to the hyundai.. she will rise again! keep your head up mate.

Not it's not. Police will pull you over for going through most orange lights, let alone if you speed up to go through it. If you have every opportunity to stop at an orange rather than going through, you should stop. The only time I've seen someone get out of a red light camera fine was because he had a truck right up his ***** and he argued if he stopped the truck would have hit him (it was visible in the photo). Yes... I know...that was a joke of sorts... you didnt bold brake hard in my post. Im not all bad. :D

I cant see the camera in google street view... the idea is to speed up when the light goes orange or brake hard! maybe it wasnt you driving at all.. wasnt your friend driving at the time? insert name here............... I dont think you can argue your way out of a red light camera... you can only hope it didnt catch your plate. good luck ben.. hope you can find a good mate to help you out..

Another option is to buy an uprated one from Road and Track http://www.roadandtrack.net.au/ Stronger and cheaper! I got my mechanic to do mine as well... oh man... nice find.. why couldnt I find them when I was searching for hours!!?? Thanks Matty.. I've bookmarked them. These types of co's should have an ebay ad. How else would a customer find them.

2.8d 92' Hilux.. 397,000km on original motor. only timing belt and other consumables replaced. I've heard of one making 700,000km.. Toyotas' rule! Oops... not a kluger.. sorry. :(

Thanks Trent, I appreciate your advice.. dont give up on me, I am listening. can I say "she'll be right mate" lol.. I like a bit of risk, it gets the heart going and you know your alive. It's like overtaking and accidentally hitting 170. oops.. and wondering if a cop is coming the other way.. love it. And if it blows... well its only a car. And it will give me an excuse to really play around with the engine when rebuilding.. hmmm..

No shop with dyno in the last week has opened up in town, so AFR's still unknown.. but if a HKS F-CON cant regulate the fuel properly 2psi over stock like it supposedly can, they shouldnt be in business. I'll take my chances for now... but when time and oppurtunity allow I will check it out on a dyno and maybe increase the boost some more. I dont flog the garbage out of my engine so the BOOM your expecting is highly unlikely IMO, stock ECU.. yes probly. Should it go boom I will sell the gt4 in shame and buy a mazda 121.. 90's style. :P Like I said, it ran perfect this arvo, if I get the slightest indication its not right, (ie miss, backfire etc etc) out it comes.. Its not being force fed extra fuel like it was on first attempt... I just had the mega sh!ts today over personal stuff and this gave me something else to think about.. right or wrong.. let me have my fun!

I got bored this arvo, home sick... me being bored is always dangerous for my cars.. and put the boost controller back in, no extra fuel, just what the HKS fcon regulates.. working ok. no lumps or bumps. see how it goes. max boost 11 psi just tested.

I've been wanting a turbo on my 3L hilux, did you get a kit? If so where from? and did it take much modification? They are reliable but dog slow standard, mines about to hit 400k, I'm wondering if I put a turbo on it, if the engine would even last.

I think this car looks great.. it was my favorite on meet night out of all the rollas, but I am biased to white cars. Keep up the good work, you've done a great job so far. :D

My car attracts far too many smoking hot girls... since celica's are girls cars afterall... I had to buy a mini baseball bat to stop them all trying to get in at once and kissing me to death to get the steering wheel.... no, wait, that was my dream. bugger...

I have one of these in apollo form.. if you need parts, let me know, they are yours for the cost of postage only. ( and anyone else who may need them) I have cut the roof off to make it a convertible, and its been exposed to weather for 5 years, but there may be a part or two you may need. :D

Yes, I love to swing that spanner...I've had some success in the past. If it was going to blow, it would have over the 300 odd k's I drove it before disconnecting. I may have dodged a bullet on that one. point taken.. no more fiddling with stuff I know sweet fa about.. clearly I dont have the knowledge or tools to do this job... next.

No idea.. its clear I was in over my head. There isnt a shop with a dyno close to where I live, I'm guessing most of what Im doing, My thoughts on fuel were, better more than less in case of running dry and stuffing motor at high boost. Too complicated for me to do without the correct gauges and gear. Unless I find someone local who has a clue Im forgetting it.

Im certain it was all connected properly, the boost controller took a lot of adjusting, I accidentally set it for 15psi and the turbo and motor handled it fine, I changed it straight down to 12psi. I had the HKS setup to deliver more fuel at all rpm levels and had the FCD set way out.. It ran and worked, but not smoothly like it does stock at 9psi, If I didnt get the rpm exactly right it wouldnt spool up properly, and ran like a dog. it was too touchy. Im also wondering if my fuel pump is no good. It does emit a loud buzz. Whatever the problem is, Im sticking with stock, the power is more usable and will save the engine in the long run. It was a fun experiment and learning experience. No harm done.

externally controlled, internal wastegate I believe... Im only guessing, but i think blocking the tvis messes the HKS fcon etc... I dunno, it was ok sometimes, but run like garbage mostly. I would also guess that an electronic boost controller on a computer controlled car would be far better.

Farrr 650km round trip, commitment there where do live if you don't mind me asking. look up Tuross Head in google maps or earth. I live near Coila Lake.. it's where ACT folk come for holidays. Nice beaches and fishing etc.

Well worth the drive. all 650km of them in round trip. Hit 120,000km on the clock under the Nan TIen temple down the coast. I hope thats good luck! Its a good group up there.. friendly bunch of good guys with nice cars. :D Can we do a drive thru the city after meeting up? pass thru the cross or george st or something? Cruise chinatown? pretty please.

boost controller = EPIC FAIL.. removed it saturday before the meet. Car runs better and smoother stock.. there I said it.
