    AVP2

The franchise was ****** from the first AVP movie.......an abomination that should never have been made. I have only watched it once, and are refusing to watch it again. If I need an Alien fix, I'll just do an all-nighter watching the Quadrilogy or fire-up AvP2 on the PC and scare myself ****less
  2. 2000kg tare weight is way off the for IS250, thats heavier than a Falcon. Tare weight of an IS250 (according to Redbook) is 1520kg, only 300kg heavier than the Sportivo. Power to weight is 100kw/tonne, and it's got a bootful more torque than the 2ZZ (252Nm vs 180Nm)
  3. Red Sportivo, not sure if facelift or not (only saw the rear), plates ST 5151, heading along Griffiths Rd and up Lambton Road past the Mater hospital around 4:45 this arvo
  4. Definitely keen, as long as it's after I've done some more mods to the car (exhaust, CAI etc), as it got dyno-ed earlier this year at the SAS Toymods dyno day
  5. I thought Acclaim was a standard spec model for Commodores (VP-VZ I think), one above Executive competing against the Futura
  6. The clutch feel changed significantly between the AE and ZZE series Corollas. The clutch in my AE102 is reasonably heavy (fine for normal driving, but can get frustrating in stop-start), whereas a ZZE's is a lot lighter, more devoid of feel. I normally drive barefoot, and heel&toe very frequently, but I've found I can do it in my work boots too (size 14 steel caps single-density sole) because the sole is very firm and gives good feeling. My old school shoes on the other hand I had no hope with, because the sole was chunky and soft which gave me no idea as to where the pedal was. Best driving shoes though (apart from barefoot) would have to be my 5-year old Puma Turins, a size too small with nice thin narrow sole so I can roll easily.
  7. I actually quite like it... Come on u gotta agree that its better than the frog lights stage I for one actually liked the bug-eyed Impreza, especially the WRX. Reminded me of a 993 Porsche (which is a good thing). The tailights on the other hand were a huge step backwards, reminded me of a baby teething (giant red gum with a little pearly white tooth coming through). I approve of the new direction towards hatch-design, afterall Subaru is trying to compete against the premium Euros, and that means A3, Golf Gti, Megane RS Cup etc, and they're all hatches. Thinking that the WRX's only real competitor is the Evo is being severely narrow-sighted
  8. I'm worrying about rust in the KE......damn thing has a hole at the top right of the windscreen, I can almost imagine the a-pillar slowly filling with water
  9. WRC (used to be Group A, but is officially known as WRC) HAS to be 2.0L 4cyl engine, however the homologation requirement has long since lapsed (last homologated car was the Evo6). Thus, the current WRC Subarus are 2.0L, NOT 2.5L, and cannot be unless the rules are changed. They are also restricted to producing around 300-350HP, so the main performance gains come from anti-lag and maxing out torque.
  10. I'm hovering around the 90kg mark, whilst this wouldn't be classed as overweight (I'm 6'2"), some of it is in the wrong areas. Ideally I'd like to tone up and lose about 5kg, possibly 10 (gives me a better chance at being a driver for FSAE too), been eating too much junk over the past year. 80kg would probably mean sacrificing a bit of intended muscle bulk, but my frame isn't huge anyway
  11. I don't feel 23 yet...:-( Probably hitting the ***** tonight though
  12. Rear-end looks too much like an Alfa.....on an Alfa, it looks alright, but definitely doesn't suit the Evo

    wrx rims

ST162 (the majority of what we got here) had 5x100 too, it's the ST versions you've got to look out for that only have 4x100. No idea on the offset though. Remember too that the ST185 and ST205 are the GT4 AWD versions, and are quite rare. The normal 18x and 20x Celicas sold here were ST184 and ST204
  14. Can an inline engine be dual VVT-i? Of course it can, the dual is referring to BOTH the intake and exhaust timing being variable, rather than just the intake. The first of these was the BEAMS 3SGE, which is of course an inline four, pretty sure the 2ZZ has it too (it's got Lift as well, so its called VVTi-L)
  15. Godfather is a Castrol Dealer. I have to agree. But wait, actually I disagree, as we've been running the oil in all our cars (incl. the corollas, old and new) for close to 30 years, with applications going on 6 different cars (2 toyotas). No funny noises, no bad oil colour, no damage, no mystical prancing dwarf named hans, no winged monkeys with zithers playing 'Smoke on the Water' while balancing glass bananas on their tails, no nothing. It's not bad oil. I've been using Castrol GTX2 (20W50) in my 102 for a while, haven't had a single problem with it. Switched to Gulf Western on the last change though, waiting to see how that turns out as it's only half the price. If I run any thinner than 20W50 I start burning through it a bit, valve stem seals/rings seem to be slowly on the way out
  16. Working 7-3 shift during the week, and thus I value my sleep. If it were on the weekend, then I'd be a possibility.
  17. Pretty sure there was an inpromptu Twincam cruise on last night, going down RNP and the Seacliff
  18. Methinks you mean the Lancia Delta S4, which actually bares very little resemblence to the Delta bar the rough outline and the Lancia badges You're right though, it almost literally killed Group B (damn thing was near suicidal)
  19. spotted (and talked to) Dylan (Blue_Stivo) and Bec (MSROLA) at Dyno Day
  20. hehe maybe you left your aircon on, draining that ever so tiny amount of power I reckon my headlights drained the 0.1kw that stopped me from getting 68 :P j/k
  21. Depending on which state you're in, Mobil IS Caltex petrol. Mobil don't refine anymore (or so the story goes), so they either use Caltex or BP depending on the state

    mr2 models?

after re-checking the black SW20 down the street from me, the turbo models have a "Twincam 16 Turbo" sticker on the side
  23. Headers = extractors = exhaust manifold. Each definition is slightly different from the others, but close enough to call the same thing to non-pedantic people.
  24. In NSW it's illegal to have tyres protruding from the guards for obvious reasons, next time the F1 is on see how easy it is for a wheel to ride over the top of another one and send the car flying. Also, the MARGINAL increase in track that you'd get (remember track is usually about 1.4-1.5m, so 10-15mm either way is going to make bugger all difference. Properly matched springs and shocks, with a sway bar, will improve cornering infinitely better, and probably cost the same or less than a set of rims and tyres
  25. Does it have to be for a 1ZZ, I need a set of extractors for the 7A and Wildcats are appropriate, obviously 1ZZ ones haven't got a hope of fitting (firstly it's on the wrong side of the block.......)
