  6. bah... I have to drive up to Campbelltown just to get to my closest Autobarn :P I'm off after I've had lunch ;)
  7. that may be the fat **** tyres on them. I might get Mark to weigh his to compare and I'll reweigh mine again to double check wooo hooo for late night topic whoring
  8. I haven't got a Drift one though I'm thinking about it just to try out... it's only $35 afterall :P
  9. What it also doesn't show is the filtration levels of each. To get the higher reading what are you sacrificing in terms of filtration? The OEM filter was also pretty dirty as well where as the others were all new filters. worth noting that the car had a vane style filter (like a pool filter) which is pretty closely shaped to a pod to begin with as well. The article is well worth a read, as are most of the shootouts that ZOOM performs. Their research is real and well thought through and carried out unlike certain other 'ricer' mags that shall remain nameless but you know the ones I'm taking about ;)
  10. yeah my Gold 16s. I weighed them and they are ~15kgs with tyres and air stockies are ~17kgs and Speedy lite 7s with 215/45r17 tyres are ~18kgs ;)
  11. The Apex'i ones would be exxy but does anyone know any retailers who stock the Drift brand? I've seen it advertsied in car mags. Is AutoBarn one? yep Autobarn have them ~$35 so was easily the best bank for buck ;) it's in issue 104 of ZOOM they did the test on their project Cyborg (mirage) FWD drag car and all tested were carried out in sucession on a Dyno Dynamics Dyno Standard - 132.7 KW Pipercross - 132.8 - $399 BMC carbon - 132.9 - $649 Drift Stainless - 133.3 - $100 Driftbitz Stainless - 133.7 - $66 K&N - 133.9 - $110 BMC F1 - 134.1 - $160 SAAS - 134.6 - $30 Driftbitz carbon - 134.6 - $33 JR - 134.9 - $105 HKS superflow - 134.9 - $195 NO FILTER - 135.1 - $ummm FREE!!! Apexi - 135.3 - $120 (but they used one with the Air Fuel Meter bracket attached instead of just the filter which they suspect lowered the reading though only slightly) Trust Arinx -135.9 - $155 Drift Urethane (Blue) - 136.2 - $36
  12. when you take the rear shocks out the rear cross beam will drop down making access to the sway bar bolts a hell of a lot easier as well. I say do it all at once ;)
  13. I vote 1 for stock rims... wanna buy some? :P
  14. interesting this runs as a piggyback like the E-Manage yeah? That would be great for keeping the factory safety features on the standard ECU. Question is though, would the ECU still learn around it like the Unichip? What is the final difference in price too compared the apexi PFC once you factor in buying/fabricating a harness to install and tuning? EDIT: looks like it also has to be operated along with an E-manage Ultimate unit which would bump the price somewhat too.
  15. bah, I'm sure there are some kind Melbournites who would do it for nothing (or a small feed and a beer). If you were in Sydney or Brisbane there are plenty of guys who would help you out for nothing :)
  16. what the heck??? how?????? so.. u just paid for the item? and the freight... thats all??! i wanna get a set of rim via sea.... which couriers did u guys use???? i was introduced... that airmark is pretty good... or perhaps they were all seperate orders ;)
  17. a proper adjustment... why pay ~$600 to get the clutch done needlessly?
  18. why? when there are perfectly good and REASONABLY PRICED ke series rollas kicking around ;) I want the oversteer Dyl lol Pfft, you can get oversteer easy in a KE......it just usually means getting rid of the K-series. Leaf springs at the rear mean sideways action is always looming on the horizon (hit a pothole going around a corner and the whole rear end will skip sidways, thats stock as well) Having owned a KE I agree. Looking at what I would do to an AE86 in terms of chassic strengthening etc I would disagree and say that the AE would be vastly superior to what you could ever get out of a KE. Probably the reason they professionally race AE's as opposed to KE's? Oversteer is one thing. Having 'controllable' oversteer is another. Yes we know that the XR6 is probably the better RWD to go for, but we were talking about Corolla's though. Otherwise I would have said 'F6' immediately lol I would disagree here... when was the last time you went out to a state level improved production race? count the # of KEs out there vs AE86s ;) I'd personally get a KE70 or an AE71 anyway... it's virtually the same thing as an AE86 anyway :P
  19. Firefox V2.0.0.1 + add blocker FTW!!!!!!
  20. I believe Wei wei covered that one ;)
