If you were doing it to a Corolla you could bring your own key, ECU, ignition barrel and receiver. With the ECU mounted where it is, 10 mins work and you might be out of there with a whole new car if nobody is around to ask questions. Could the Hondas be similar? Maybe even simpler - just ECU and key. Definitely could be something organised as stated above. Monitoring the driver closely, taking notes on times etc... Such a low act stealing someone's pride and joy like that. Hopefully Steve's suggestion is wrong and it's not in pieces in 100 Mt Druitt garages by now. or even bankstown chances are these guys werent **** around and cased out the car so they knew when to hit it but youd never know for sure and even if your friend was insured theyd probably try to cheapskate him and give him a lower payout figure ill keep an eye out no less

it just happens when things are mass produced you get the odd few that are machined really tight most are normal and others really loose but im talking within microns. in that kind of environment its hard to monitor the machine work on every part would take too long and cost too much money. the head is definatly japanese yamaha baby! these guys have been making the twin cam heads for toyota since they came up with a twin cam engine i know as far back as the 18r-g possibly further

maybe i always thought they just sent the motors over from japan in crates to south africa then they just dropped them in id just put it down to the variencies in machining tollerances

mine just rolled on 70,000 and i put 5w30 in as i have every oil change and i still dont have excessive oil consumption which id expect it to start dropping off round 60ish dunno maybe its cause im so anal and wont drive it unless the engine has been warmed up for 10 minutes cause it apparently *reduces wear* a much debated subject in some circles might also be the oil i use has a friction modifier in it but who knows

oil use on stivos is pretty normal mine uses a little oil i regularly keep an eye on it i dont use much more than 300ml in 5000 klms which is when i change my oil id only be concerned if its burning excessive amounts of oil and blowing tonnes of smoke

150 ml a month is a pretty meager amount as long as it doesnt gush out everytime you stop the motor my freinds mini leaks half a litre every two weeks and thats pretty chronic

i remember doing a few of them its no fun spose you could let it go on for a while but itll only get worse over time and leak more but as long as you keep an eye on the oil level every week youll be fine 227k isnt bad for a rav ive seen rear mains go with ravs half those klms last time it took me around 2 days to change one and that was an auto obviously if its a manual the oil leak will cause problems with your clutch

should be fine without the aftermarket ecu but if you put one in combined with the cai and extractors and exhaust youll be able to milk more power out of it still nice power curve very smooth the ces kit definatly doesnt disapoint
