  1. i would guess that playing around with the exposure/white balance in the camera settings might improve it a bit, but headlight glare is something all dashcams would struggle with to some degree id say. Fortunately I've not needed any night time footage yet, but...
  2. Yeah I think its to do with Blackvue using a coaxial cable for the rear cam rather than a traditional power/signal cable as Viofo does i uploaded a clip from my drive home, i think up close detail is pretty good but its just fast moving objects where detail suffers a bit. But with that being said, I do believe the 1080p 60fps model has the edge over the 4K version in terms of low light detail
  3. Yep they come with a hardwire kit, parking mode power comes from the main vehicle battery and you can change the voltage/time settings from within the blackvue app. There is no separate "box" like say with the Viofo hardwire kit which you've then got to climb under the dash to adjust if you ever want to change the settings. You can also connect the X series cameras battery wire to a standalone battery (Cellink Neo etc) as well if you don't want to use the main vehicle battery for parking mode.
  4. DR750X-2CH, love it. Upgraded from a Viofo A129 which gave me nothing but trouble and majorly interfered with my FM reception. Video quality is great and have no trouble making out license plates with the 60fps. Also the usual cloud functionality is good. Installation is pretty straightforward as well. They are expensive but its definitely a quality unit. Free shipping from Blackvue 🙂 Also helps that the 750X and 900X have voltage monitoring built in, don't need a power magic pro to keep it from flattening your battery
  5. Indeed, not a bad idea at all. There is a new firmware update so perhaps they might have, heres hoping... settings only allow the G sensor sensitivity to be adjusted along three axes, ive turned the side to side axis to about halfway. No power magic pro, the X series have voltage monitoring built in
  6. Just wondering if anyone here is running Blackvue DR750X or DR900X? If so what parking mode settings do you use? In parking mode closing the car door is enough to trigger an event recording, even on half sensitivity...
  7. I'd imagine so, my set came off a LC Sahara and fit on my TRD no problems at all. Only thing I guess is the silver piece at the top and bottom of the foglight surround, as both the C-HR and LC have that part covered by the bumper...
  8. Is this after you topped up the fluid? In the other thread the pic you posted it looked completely dry...
  9. Christ. Thats not low, more like empty. Refill it to the max cold mark when the car is cold, and definitely monitor for leaks. How long have you had the car?
  10. You might want to investigate the reason its low?
  11. hi mate Cheers for that, the fusebox is hidden by a plastic cover behind the glovebox, remove that and you'll see it way up behind the glovebox by the cabin filter.... let me know if you can't find it?
  12. I would recommend finding a set of Landcruiser 200 / C-HR Genuine foglights, they are factory LED and direct swap onto Aurion :) https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/223439690446?hash=item34060b1ace:g:2CIAAOSw9gRZ~aOD https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/224427098900?hash=item3440e5c314:g:19cAAOSwH3hZ~aNu
  13. Hi, Does anyone know whats required to add the factory reversing camera to the factory sat nav headunit? I believe the blanking piece for the camera is already there above the license plate but not sure if you can just get one out of a wreck and plug it straight in? I would assume also it requires some sort of trigger detection for when the car is in reverse Thanks
  14. I think what is happening is... the dashes they are using as replacements are the same ones that eventually melt, and with covid and what not, they haven't found a new supplier for the revised dashes that don't melt. So probably just using up the old ones they have. And then.....
  15. Haha, I got a bonnet protector just because I like the way it looks on the Aurion... 😁
  16. Can't get RE003 at the moment.... No one has any
  17. Could possibly be the sound of a failing alternator (as you increase the revs it puts more load on the alt). How many kms ?
  18. in my case i ended up removing it twice, once to do the job and another to do the belt tensioner which i should have just done the first time when i had it all out 🙄
  19. No worries, feel free to PM if you want, Done a few of these now 👍
  20. Yeah I'm not sure what it was. I got a replacement rear camera cable, replacement front camera module and the issues persisted. Nah, the DR750 is 1080p only, but it is 60fps unlike the DR900. For being able to make out detail in fast moving footage (i.e. a number plate of a car passing you in the opposite direction) the 750 holds the upper edge. the DR900 is 4K 30fps I believe, so it trumps the 750 in terms of overall video quality but isn't 60fps so it sort of loses an edge when it comes to trying to make out detail in fast moving footage. I do believe the 750 is slightly better in terms of night time quality as well. One thing to note though is if you want built in voltage monitoring you need to get the X series, otherwise you'll have to get a Power magic pro or similar to do that part for you :). Theres also LTE versions of those cams (I believe Australia is on the list of supported countries) if you want, so you can use the cloud features wherever you are, even if you aren't with your car. Could go on and on, they are expensive, but I do think its a very good package for what you get.
  21. I had a Viofo dashcam fitted as well, it was the A129 model with front/rear camera. I replaced with a Blackvue DR750X-2CH and now no issues at all. My FM reception issues also sorted themselves out. Maybe it was just a faulty cable, don't know. You could try unplugging the camera so theres no power to it, see if you still have problems then 🙂
  22. Its a long shot but do you have a dashcam fitted? Mine used to cause all sorts of issues with keyless entry similar to this.
  23. No - but thanks for pointing it out, I'll try through there 🙂
  24. its probably a specific Toyota font and not freely available
  25. To his credit he did try to add a NZ shipping option but it seems like ebay makes this a clunky affair to change, I've had this before when buying off Australia postage only listings. You'd think ebay would make it easy... Would have been $20 postage here which i was happy to pay
