Toyota should have made reverse cam standard in all aurions.... rear visibility is rubbish
-
I have the factory 19s on my TRD, and they tramline a lot. Guessing this is normal then? Especially on uneven roads, it tries to follow the flow of the ruts and dips.

I read that, however I still don't understand exactly what parts of what's been named Aurion were designed in Australia. Whichever way I look at it, the Aurion is still a Camry which is why I'm asking. Did a bit of reading myself but couldn't find much information on it. There's the front grille, the headlights, taillights, here and there some touches, is that it?
The Aurion suspension is also uniquely tuned for Australian conditions I believe.

Thanks @campbeam. All as you describe though adjustment was very close first up. The drivers side at the bracket is ever so slightly lower than the adjacent panel.
The latch was a bit bent so opening and closing requires a little brutane. I'll need to see how I can improve that. I might try and source another latch.
The struts are also sagging, though they weren't last week...so I'll need a new pair.
The struts are $60 each from Toyota... Don't go aftermarket like I did, the ones I bought originally were crap and you had to physically force the bonnet up. Ended up just buying the Toyota part, works a lot better.

One I had come up was the supercharger coupler was worn, so when the car was idling it had a very diesel engine ticking sound coming from the sc snout, the noise would go away when you applied some revs.
Mine sounds a bit like that. Wonder if its the same thing

That sounds odd - do you mean that the doors jiggle and move because the door seals dont fill the frame to door gap?
My car dash rattles a bit in winter - I assume that the plastic parts contract a bit allowing gaps and movements.
I suppose its more of a constant squeak-squeak-squeak that seems to be coming from the rubber seals that go along the top of the door and sit against the roof outside
-
Sounds like the weather seals on my car, around the edges of the door, rattle a lot. Especially when its cold outside. Does this mean they need replacing? The noise is pretty annoying.
Thanks

My TRD sits at around 14.7L/100km when driving around town. Ouch.

Remove the carpet?

or buy a TRD

I think you'll find its not easy to get more power out of an Aurion, and what power you can get, is generally not worth the time/cost.

Daniel, There is a ten year cut off. If it's getting sticky now, don't leave it. Take it to a dealership. Cheers.
So lets just say you were out of the ten year period, how much would a replacement dash set you back?
-
Yes Toyotas are well known for generous empty light indications. How long were you running with the light on for?
-
Do the TRD Aurions suffer from the same issue?

Has anyone tried the Android based Tesla style headunits? Such as this one:
Especially curious as to how it would work with the manual AC controls in the SX6/3500S/ATX

Why would you jump straight to replacing the ECM if it is a sensor fault code?
I didn't mean I was going to, I'm just looking for somewhere to start. Might take the maf sensor off and give it a clean
-
The ABS light is constantly coming on shortly after driving a few hundred meters, I plugged in my code reader and it throws up three codes: P1100, P0000 and P0000. A quick google shows P1100 is the barometric pressure sensor acting up, should I replace the ECM? Has anyone had experience with this issue?
Thanks

10 inches of water?? That seems pretty high

I believe it refers to the rubber seals around the bottom of the window that keep the weather out when closed

My TRD Aurion is at 138,000km right now and increasing at 60km daily.
I live in a rural area so my TRD Aurion is driven enthusiastically and it has not missed a beat.
The only component that did get changed very early on was the automatic belt tensioner, and that was done under a mechanical warranty. In NZ the automatic belt tensioner was roughly $300.00. My TRD Aurion doesn't seem to use any oil or hasn't needed a top up between the 12,000km service intervals.
I would also recommend making sure your wheel alignment is correct, as the front tyres are working very hard. The 245/35/r19 tyres are also an odd size so it could be expensive. Currently I run Goodyear F1 Asymetricals and they are now down to 3mm tread depth from approximately 20,000km worth of driving. Please note I am not sure how long the previous owner had the tyres on before I purchased the car.
If you are looking for power modifications I would not bother as it is expensive and the gains are generally not there.
I do recommend you upgrade the front and rear sway bars as I found this assisted with the torque steer, in my opinion. I also had a strut brace installed. The automatic transmission sometimes does not kick down as quickly as you like, it almost seems like turbo lag, in certain situations.
Fuel economy for my TRD Aurion is between 10litres - 11.5litres per 100km and it must be filled with 98octane.
I really like my TRD Aurion, it is definitely a compromised (slightly flawed) vehicle but it is a lot of fun because of this.
I also have an older turbocharged Subaru, but as a daily vehicle it is awful.
I've seen your car a few times around, very nice man :)

Sorry if the title is a bit wordy, wasn't sure how else to put it. Anyway, is it possible to fit the facelifted XV40 sportivo front bumper, headlights and tail lights to the pre facelift sportivos?
Dash cam and Lumber issue

My driver side lumbar stopped working as well. Doesn't make any sound at all. Just doesn't work
