  1. I'll always recommend www.autoblackbox.com.au
  2. I also hardwired mine using the kit that you can buy - Link It does what was mentioned above, records when it detects movement. Great surveillance for when you leave your car parked at a shopping centre car park. ;) This camera has saved me from 1 speeding fine (by proving I was not anywhere near where the fine alleged I was), 1 fail to stop at yellow fine (pulled SD card out and put in my phone, showed police officer on the spot and he agreed I didn't have enough time to stop), and last but not least it proved that I was not at fault for an insurance claim (saving me the $800 excess). So as you can see, it has well and truly paid itself off! Couldn't agree more.
  3. I have had car cameras in my cars for almost 2 years. In my car I have the Blackvue DR500GW WiFi camera - Link, and in the Mrs car she has the BlackVue DR400G-HD - Link I used to put alot of videos on YT of bad driving, but have been kinda lazy since getting the Aurion. If you're interested, my YouTube channel is here. Full of videos - Link My camera uses MicroSD card. At 1080P, on a 32GB card, it records around 17 hours of footage. Once it's full, it starts to record over the first file, then the second, and so on.
  4. That clock is different to mine. That looks like it doesn't have a speed alert.
  5. Ok, so I am able to get this kit http://aerpro.com.au/list.php?pcode=ARV50M&cat_name=New+Products&cat_no=&product_name=5%22+MIRROR+REVERSING+CAMERA&cat_sno at a good price. I have a few thoughts though. 1) Does the clip on mirror look ugly? and 2) How can I wire this up? do I go via the roof? or along the pillars? I have no ideas!
  6. Also, how is the reverse camera wired up where the mirror is the monitor? Does the cord run through the roof?
  7. While looking for camera options, I came across this. Would this fit ok in my dash? I would probably need a new facial piece http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=170716730511
  8. Hey everyone. My mate drives a Hiace around for work, and it has a reverse camera installed, and when you put it in reverse, the mirror has a screen in it that you watch. I was curious, is there an option like this that I could install in my Aurion? Genuine or after market is fine. Will the Hiace part fit in my 07 Aurion? Cheers everyone.
  9. Thanks everyone for the tips!
  10. It's the front window, under the rear view mirror. Does that have factory tint? or will I be ok?
  11. Not yet. need to remove the tape first... which I also have no idea how to do...
  12. Hey all. As the title says, I need to remove 3M tape from my front window, without leaving any glass damage. Once the tape is removed, I imagine I will need to use some chemicals to remove the sticky residue that will be left. Can anyone give me some tips?
  13. ok, so it's safe to say the H11's will fit in my car, and my lights are not HID's
  14. *BUMP* Can anyone help me with telling me which globes I need?
  15. Hey all. I would like to change my headlights to a white globe, opposed to the standard yellow globe, but after reading this thread, it may be more expensive than I thought. I took a photo of my headlights, can anyone tell me if I will need the HID globes, or if I need the H11 globes?
  16. I wired a car camera in my car. I grounded it to a screw on a large round black bit of plastic under the glove box. It worked. My camera was set on "truck setting", so if the power was less than 21volt, it would shut off, so I changed it to "car mode" where power was less than 11.6volt and it worked. Double check you don't have anything like that.
  17. Hi All, I have found (another) issue with my Aurion, and it seems like one thing after another... but moving on... In Adelaide we have had some hot weather over the last week or so, and over the last few days when I get into my car and it's really hot inside from the sun, I drive off, and I hear this creaking noise from the drivers side B pillar. I hear it when I take off and when I brake, so when the car chassis has weight moving it. I am 99% sure it's the B pillar, as I put my ear next to it while braking, and I can hear it. I have no idea what it is, and I can't reproduce the noise by hand. Seems like it needs the force of the car to make it happen. The creak kinda sounds like the creak you get from your centre console, but I am pretty sure it's metal creaking, not plastic, however I could be wrong, and it may be plastic rubbing. Can anyone shed some light on what this could be? My car is still under the 3 months dealer used car warranty, so I may be able to get it fixed through the dealer (CMI Toyota), as I am not really keen on pulling the B pillar apart myself (On that note, can someone also tell me if the side airbag is in the seat or the B pillar?). Do the current model Aurions have the rattle and creak issues that the 07-09 models have? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Alex
  18. Hi everyone. With this vent rattle I mentioned in the first post, I read somewhere that Toyota fixed it... Is this right? If I order a new dash piece with the vents in it, will I get the vents that don't rattle?
  19. ah ok fair enough. I am wondering if I could use a vinyl repair kit or something... Hmm
  20. UPDATE: Please read post below from me Re: new dash piece. Hey all, I have an issue with my 07 Prodigy. I have a rattle in the top vents area. I am pretty sure it's located in the vents themselves, as when I put my finger in the dash, the rattle almost stops. Has anyone experienced this issue? any advice on how to stop it, as it's very annoying. Also, in the process of finding the rattle, I scratched my dash!! I am FUUUMINNNGGG at myself. :'( Does anyone have any reccomendations on how to fix this? Because if I don't fix it, I will probably go to Toyota and get a cost on a new part. Please let me know. Thanks
  21. I have recentely bought my 07 prodigy, and I am currently using 95. I didn't notice any difference in kms when i compared 91 to 95. but I did notice a overall smoother more responsive engine. I will be trialling 98 on my next fill up. With 95, I get 10.5 - 11.5. If i drive hard, it is more like 12-12.5 That is driving to and from local bus stop, in total about 15 mins driving a day in metro area.
