  1. My friend snapped these pics earlier today. Funny thing is......the car has not been released for sale or even delivered to dealers yet.
  2. My mom has an '05 2AZ Automatic Camry, and once pulled off: 34 miles per gallon (US) equals 6.92 liters/100 km. In my '96 V6 Auto Camry, I've pulled off: 30 miles per gallon (US) equals 7.84 liters/100 km. In my same car, since I added a Supercharger, I have pulled off as high as: 27 miles per gallon (US) equals 8.71 liters/100 km. So no matter you look at it, your figures are really bad. The testing done in the US for MPG is done by the government, with a real car, being driven outdoors, in real world situations.
  3. I;m using IK22's in my '96. But I'm boosted is why I'm running iridium. Only use Denso or NGK Platinum or Iridium plugs in Toyota's.
  4. Since I;m in the US, I know it was BS, lol. :-P
  5. 99% of the sludge issues ARE due to people not doing oil changes. I only know of 1 person personally that had a legitimate sludge issue when doing proper oil changes. The '92-'96 Camry's here in the US, if proper maintmence done, did not sludge. Granded, I'm not saying there was a slight design defect, but most issues were caused by the owner. My dad rarely does oil changes. My 1st car he gave to me. At times he went 15k miles without changing oil. Sold the damn car, still running decent, at 190k miles. But considering that was your 1st post, I;m goign to guess you own a Holden? /end rant
  6. See a couple here on the street. Pretty damn cool looking!
  7. I'll tell you my opinion after I go to it in a couple weeks. :P I'm an hour away. Freakin parking is like $25 though......
  8. Check the tire air pressure (has a massive effect on gas mileage, and check spare tire), and check the air filter. Other then that, if your car runs good, nothing to worry about
  9. That changes things a little bit then. I was thinking you were all teenagers. You have 1 good experienced driver with you. I'm 26 right now, and do 7 hour drives every few months. I did a weekend trip from my uni to Canada to visit a friend for a weekend 3 years ago, 8 hours each way, by myself. I'd say, if you can, just have you and the 27 year old drive it. Your comfortable in your car, and the 27 yo has experience. Then all should be fine. Main thing to remember, if your tired, let someone know. It;s not worth taking a chance on an accident, have someone else drive. :)
  10. Personally, I will say it is not safe having 4 young people in a car, all brand new drivers, for any amount of driving, let alone a very long trip. BUT, the question is, how is YOUR driving, and are YOU comfortable? And keep in mind you'll be having 3 other inexperienced drivers, driving YOUR car. I would not, in any way, feel comfortable knowing that. Then again, I don't feel comfortable with even many experienced drivers driving my car. Thats just my opinion from personal experience. My parents forbid me to have more then 1 young person in my car for the 1st year of driving.
  11. Couple things. Do NOT use Bosch plugs on Toyota's. They don;t like them, lol. 2 friends with Camry's in January had Bosch plugs go bad. One of then had the porcelain crack causing a misfire. 2 other things are do a drain and fill on the transmission (If Auto), if the fluid looks dirty. And do a coolant flush. If you goign to change the timing belt (recomended if you do not know when it was last done, see if there is a sticker on the timing belt cover), also replace the water pump, cam/crank pulley seals, and thermostate. Other then that, everything else should be fine.
  12. You can always do what I did......Granted, I went a little overboard because I like performance, and also like everything looking stock.
  13. ^ If not SAFER due to the new age safety equipment is what people don;t understand sadly...... At least you got through to her. As for the Model T, at least it's fun! 1st pic is me, 2nd, click the pic, and it will play a video (friend driving, his car).
  14. For 2010 here in the US, we're also getting a slightly more powerfull 2.5L engine. In the US, there is a company that makes a Gen 6 Lip Kit, almost identicle to the SE (Sportivo) one. And I think one guy on TN with a Hybrid put it on. :) Craploads of Torque at 0RPM's. :-P
  15. Wow! That is a brilliant idea! I think I'm going to have to copy that design...... What did you use as the base? Thin plywood?

  18. Ah, ok. Thanks for the fast reply Steve.
  19. I just got an email for a PM from the forum. I click the link and get: Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information. The error returned was: You are not allowed to use the messenger feature on this board And I can't even find out where to find the PM's, and this is the only forum of like 20 I;m on that I can;t figure it out.... *Edit As I posted this, the next page I went to then showed the PM box. Something's happening to the forum......

    2AZ Mods?

The crank pulley should increase take off a bit, as my friend said they help the engine rev better due to thier light weight. As for buying from the US, just remember that shipping is NOT cheap. Ironically, I'm mailing a TRD short shifter to Australia next week to my friend, lol.

    2AZ Mods?

Hey, we all need to start somewhere learning on cars. As for the intake, I made my own. I refuse to pay the prices for aftermarket intakes. TRD is always a good choice though (IF you can afford it, but still not worth the $ in my opinion). For the Crank Pulley, here int he US they pretty much only list them for the Scion tC, BUT, the 2AZ crank Pulley in the Camry has the same OEM part number as the tC Crank Pulley. So they are fone, and a couple people her eint he US have used them. I think with the current exchange rate, it would cost you around $200-$250 to get one from the US. As for the exhaust, I'll leave that one to the local's, since I;m in the USA.

    2AZ Mods?

Those chips are a POS. Stay clear. 1: Lightweight Crank Pulley. 2: Intake 3: Full exhaust with headers 4: Turbo kit (The US Scion TC ones can be modded to fit). I'd stay far away from the 2AZ TRD Supercharger though.
  23. ^ I live in a RICH area, and a massive percentage of the SUV's here (Large one's, not small liek the Rav4) are driven by people who will never take them off road, and only have 1 or 2 kids. I nearly got run off the road 2 times in 1 month a couple years back by a woman on her cell phone driving a Hummer that could not stay in a lane. Say, out of the 20 people I have known over the last couple years, only 2 had a legit NEED to have an SUV. My Uncle that towed a boat, and my friend (Sadly died a month ago) that had a Chevy Suburban and towed a 2 car enclosed trailer many times through the year. Most of the time all I see is a driver and maybe 1 kid in an SUV. Sadly, many use the excuse "it's safer" then a car. You guys in Aus would laugh if you knew what percentage of accidents in snow were SUV's that flip over or skid off the road because they are so heavy.......It's pitiful.
  24. Yeah, as Rolla Bot said. No one here in the US buys them new either, due to the price.
  25. It's the retards that buy large SUV's for status here.......
