  1. Couldn't have put it better myself!!
  2. Are you talking about the CES intake?? It basically sits in the same place as every other intake except CES have put a bend on the end of the pipe to push the pod away from being jammed hard into the back of the fog light.
  3. soon will be turbo diesel yes!! will certainly have a peep at it!!
  4. Possibly Supra brakes with a stud pattern change. As for the rear air bag it or pehaps use a Skyline rear end out of say R32/33.
  5. Northy has been running on Fulda's for about year or more. Heaps cheaper and pretty much a comparable tyre. depends on how much you want to spend. Fulda's seem to last a lil longer on North's car too...
  6. Lows and super lows are the same price. Pm me with your mates price and I'll soon tell if it's good or not....
  7. TRD is measured in the metric scale. 66mm to be exact. AEM is slightly smaller/larger using imperial measurements and am not 100% sure what the exact measurement is(someone with one care to measure??) CES for the 2ZZ is 3" with a reducer at the MAF down to 2.75" from memory but it's been a while since I actually had a look at one. LOL
  8. but what i think the other guys are pointing out is with the charger applications what will happen is the power/torque flatens out and will actually run out of puff ..... i can show u what this is like because thats exactly what happens @ 9psi on the turbo ..... when u hit about 5K rpms although yes the car is moving and gaining speed it does not feel like its being propelled forward with any urgency ..... like has been stated before each to their own ..... mate its called the noodle diet ...... and i guess to clarify a few assumptions that have been made because this has come up a few times ..... no i dont have a 2nd car ..... i actually went to work via the train/lift with mates/got dropped off when the car was being worked on ..... i was luck the old man was working 5-10 mins down the road ...... regarding the dollars all im gonna say again is none of it was simply handed 2 me ..... im talking 16 hour days for 2.5 yrs ..... the attitude that oh yeah "he can afford it" is absolute rubbish ..... if ppl really want something bad enough they will get off their ****s and make it happen ...... its a simple thing called "hard work" ...... i love how people "assume" that all people must be getting things handed to them on a silver plater because they also cant "simply" have it ...... well reality check ..... in most cases they arent ....... nothings for free in this world and the sooner people work out that the ordinary person must work 2 pave their way in life we can get rid of this "tall poppy" syndrome !!!!!!!!! [/end rant] I don't know about the "tall poppy syndrome" in this case Bill cause you ain't that tall :P I'd prolly use the analogy that would relate better to you.... Maybe something along the lines of "devouring the biggest kebab".....
  9. Stock Sportivo actually sits higher than an Ascent by about 15 odd mm. If you want it to sit level then put Kings Lows in the front and then put super lows in the rear. I've been doing some R&D for them for the last couple of month or so and putting super lows in the rear makes the car sit within 5mm of being level and changes the way the car handles as well. Very nice indeed when combined with Koni's, front strut and rear sway.
  10. here here slack a55es.LOL Think someone approached them a while ago but they said no. that's not say they haven't changed their mind......
  11. Never judge your power gains on what a G tech tells you. They are so innacurate it's not funny. Had some Brissy boys put one on a sportivo and do 0-100 trials and they were getting 6.0 to 6.2 to 100km/hr on a sportivo with only a CAI. If you want 100kw atw on an auto Rolla then firstly look for decent parts not some mass produced stuff that everyone buys off the shelf. Get a set of headers custom designed to a matched exhaust system for one. more gains to had there than mucking around with a bigger throttle body. the only way boring your TB is going to be effective is if you change your cam profiles and run an aftermarket ECU to make all the necessary changes to timing, fuel/air ratios etc etc. Bolt on accessories are not the way to make huge power increases.. Matching all your engine internals combined with the RIGHT bolt ons is what will achieve your target.
  12. I beg to differ... Fuel for me 14-15L/100kms.. averaging 15,000ks a year.... = 2250L of petrol per year... at $1.40L = $3150 PER YEAR OF FUEL! thats not insignificant compared to servicing etc Add to that some stupid bogan in an XF ute rear ended me on Friday and drove off.. Got the F#$kers numberplate though.. went to cops and have made an insurance claim... OH the joy of cars! 14/15L per 100km??? What do you do?? Drive around in first gear Driving my car hard i get like 11L per 100kms.
  13. I have chatted with the owner and the next plan of attack is coilovers. Brakes are on the agenda and I have also got him thinking about putting a LSD in the box that is proly his main concern for breakage!! As for the engine blowing up can't really see that happening as CES have pretty much done what Xoom has done to his and strengthened all the "weak" points of the internals as far as running boost is concerned.
  14. If you want more traders on this site/forum then go out and find them!!! The mod team have managed to get a few but as a forum we need to stop the Sponsor bashing like what has happened in the past. A couple of businesses that I have approached in the past have seen what happens and don't want a bar of it. You mighten agree with a sponsors prices etc etc but this isn't the place to air your disagreeance of it when it is just your personal opinion of a sponsors product and most of the time from members who have either never seen or used the product. These businesses will only keep this forum going and getting bigger so please support them and if you do have an issue then take it up with the business not just come on here and whinge about it. Give the trader/business a chance to hear your problem and let them see if they can fix it/rectify the problem first. If sponsor bashing does reappear in the future then mods will be taking action against the offenders.... If you find a business who is interested in sponsoring and has a line of porducts that aren't available from another sponsor business then contact the moderating team for more info/prices etc etc. the more we get the better this forum will be...
  15. Have got some video clips of it on the dyno from last week on my phone. As soon as i get them off i might post them upon here. If only a 1zz picked up power and revs like this does from 3500 to 5000rpm nobody would be buying a Sportivo.....
  16. Glad to hear that you made it without any real dramas!!
  17. With a 5000rpm limit and about 7psi it pushes 128kw and a fat load of torque.. when they tuned it for the 5k limit, they ran it to 5500 to get the map sorted and at 5500rpm on 7psi it jumped to just under 150kw atw. It get's it's first oil change and service this week and then back to the tuners to get the full boost and rev range tune. Somewhere around 17psi from what I have been told. Conservative estimates are looking at a minimum of 230kw atw up to 245kw atw.
  18. Not too bad pics there. But you need to pay with your camera settings to make the pics and the outlines of the cars more defined. It's too dark and with the lights on all you can really see is the lights and the rough shape of the cars. Good effort tho...
  19. they only fit Us sedan from memory like this car....
  20. Hey russ unfortunately Ebay only has what I would like(and for my model) in the UK of all places. the prices are pretty good but the freight charges end up making it prolly cheaper to get it from here somewhere. so if someone knows of a place in Australia or you can get stuff from Hong Kong/Singapore etc etc then PM me as we might be able to do business.....
  21. How many KM's have you done?? Perhaps post up the dyno sheet for us to have a look at. but seems like the normal output of a Sportivo down there. They obviously used 4th gear by looking at your speed.
  22. Only if you have a TRD optioned water cooled pod.
  23. First pic is Northy's car with TRD eyelids and 2nd pic is my car with paint covers.
  24. hi all could someone point me in the right direction of a website/company or person from here who could help me find what I'm looking to get for my Hilux. I'm after stuff like door sill scuff plates, clear side indicators etc etc and any other sort of accessories that may be available. cheers SB
  25. just noticed this now... honestly i cant imagine that could be true at all. $50k is a fark load of money, and those figures are a big big claim. i also dont see why people make a big fuss about 'street registered' In ACT, you go register a car, you do whatever you want to it and not let the rego run out and you dont have a problem at all, simple. i know NSW is different but what about other states? Same in Qld as long as you're sensible and don't get pulled over and the cops find something that's a major defect as they'll send you over the pits.
