  1. You can either paint them onto the protector or glue your eyelids onto the protector and then redrill the holes for the screws and paint the screw heads the colour of the car.
  2. My Dad has the dual cab 4wd 3.0L Diesel Hiluxx (not SR5) with the aftermarket 115L ARB tank, a snorkel, steel ARB bullbar (with foggies), canopy, dual battery kit, aluminium side skirts, rear steel tow bar (just to demonstrate the weight factor) He reckons the best he has done is 1050KM and his average is somewhere between 8.5-9.0KM per L... Although my dad drives it like an old man Yours is roughly 6.0KM per L which is not too good, what sought of driving do you do and is there anything very heavy on their e.g. a winch? alloy bull bar and spotties side steps canopy tray liner h/d tow bar CB radio LOL And I can drive it really gentle but it doesn't seem to make any difference. turbo conversion is coming real soon me thinks with a dyno tune....
  3. what can you get for A 99 hilux dual cab SR5?? cosmetic wise and also performance parts for the 3.0 diesel.
  4. This week who's out??This will be the very last time I will be out in the Bullit as it's now sold....... after that it'll be Hilux time lol
  5. Hi all am looking for anyone to give me an idea on what sort of economy i should be getting out of my Hilux. It seems really thristy and not a lot of power like I thought it would. I have advanced the injector pump timing a little and that made it a lot better but the economy is still lousy. I'm talking just over 400km to a tank of fuel (66l tank) and that's driving it fairly easy. drive it harder and you can watch the gauge drop. My brother in law has a 4 runner with the 2.8 diesel in it and he can get something like over 600k's to a tank. Snorkel is on it's way and also an aftermarket turbo set up too. But does anyone have any other ideas???
  6. Or learn how to do things that don't always cost money
  7. With the TRD clutch and G/box you will fix you issues and go as quick as me lol nah just kidding just your issuses will be okay ill still smash ya! lol It a comin prob with the rolla! Replacing the clutch is only a temporary fix. Shao had TRD clutch kit fitted to his car(now northy's) when new and has no shifting issues. Northy started to have shifting issues last year and it went in to have the clutch pushrod adjusted which solved the problem(didn't help the damage that happened while it was there unfortunately). So replacing the clutch doesn't solve the problem but just prolonges the agony. Get the slave cylinder pushrod adjusted and all your issues will be resolved forever!! The clutch master pushrod is meant to be adjusted when you replace the clutch. As the clutch plate wears, further minor adjustment will be required. The length of time before this adjustment depends on how you treat your clutch. Some people get 250,000km from the stock 215mm plate, some people get 10,000km. it can be adjusted that's for sure, it is also incredibly difficult to get at the pushrod on the master up under the dash. but if it isn't adjusted properly from factory then when replacing the clutch it will still only just be adjusted to be barely withnin specs. so the slightest wear it'll be out of adjustment again. Tell me about adjusting the rod under the dash!! For someone my size it's pretty painfull!!
  8. Nice one mate. Just goes to show that the right parts combined yield the quality results. ;) Your last dyno run was 111.5kw and that was stock right?? That's nearly a 10kw gain from TRD CAI and CES exhaust!!! How much more torque have you got lower in the rev range now!! Told you it would be heaps nicer to drive. Good to see Mercury's dyno figures are very similiar to that of CES' dyno. B)

  10. Big Happy birthday to MRROLA Hope you have a great day!!!
  11. And your doing all this to the 2.7L... This is just my opinion but that engine wasn't designed for up high power it's torquey down low n thats about it, so by throwing a turbo in you'll be going to be working against the grain of the engine. If this was me, a more sensible way to spend my money would be to throw in a 3VZ-FE or 5VZ-FE (or I would have bought the 01-04 SR5 models which had 5VZ-FE's stock). This is because the VZ series engines are all pretty over built for their appications (with strong internals that can easily handle high power forced induction). But I understand it's all up to personal preference and you probably want to be unique. O well I guess ur only option now is to prove me wrong! :P Good luck with the project anyways SB I love my luxy's Mate this is going on a 3.0 diesel!! Didn't want a petrol as i am going to need serious low down torque for towing as well as some decent economy!!
  12. Prolly the last time some of you will see my car as it is in all it's glory LOL. Either it's sold or getting stripped back to stock. will be out for a short while tonight too....
  13. Well I Went to CES yesterday and the plan of attack looks like it will go something like this... Stock XR6 turbo factory intercooler Stock Nissan S15 200SX Turbo CES custom manifold and dump pipe CES exhaust system to suit dyno tune to adjust injector pump Doing this on a budget and knowing the right people who already ahve the stuff you need is also a bonus. So the Hilux will certainly be moving along a lot faster soon......
  14. You don't get much vibration from the engine as you aren't replacing the whole mount but moreso just putting an insert into the mount to stiffen it up. As for reducing axle tramp haven't really noticed a difference as my car only really axle tramps in the wet and thats usually when i hit 3rd gear and it's frying them due to slippery roads. They do make takes off a lot smoother as they don't allow the mounts to flex as much thus letting the whole drivetrain and engine move far less.
  15. That was the shallow part!! Turning off the main road into the side street was deeper!!!
  16. Or contact me and I can talk you through it. I can now do it with my eyes closed I've done it that often...
  17. Let's just say that forced induction prices have been studied and reasearched ATM.....
  18. Azza took some video on my camera on the way home of the water lying either side of the freeway near Newcastle and the river in flood as well. Just have to figure how to get it from camera to Pc to forum...
  19. You should have taken the garden hose out of the end of it first then Bangn Superdave hurry up and post the video of how deep the water was that Northy, DHC09, Xoom, myself and any one else who turned up to the Show and shine at the national meet had to drive through.
  20. Dont' drive it any different than I did the Sportivo apart from not having to crawl over speed bumps and having to judge bigger gaps in merging traffic as the acceleration isn't quite as good as the Sportivo.
  21. Azza my instruction would be don't fall off!!! Mate I'lll ask my brother cause he may know someone who can help as his bike is a lil too powerfull for you atm (05 Honda CBR RR 1000 fireblade)
