  1. mmm I chewed a lass driving an Alfa Romeo 147 Sport today. Exiting the toll booth station on the M5 or M4. I was in a bad mood. About 2ks down the road, I saw her pull over... car wasne looking too pretty.

Street Racing is BAAAD, mmmkk, and hazardous to your health.

  2. It just occurred to me that despite starting this thread, I never added my sordid tale.

    Qualifications:

BSc (Anatomy & Human Biology) specialising in vision science, psychology, anthropology, forensics, microbiol, and my favourite, reproductive biology (and lots more, I just wont bore you)

BSc (Chiropractic) I don't do this officially anymore. Rooted my wrists.

BHltSc (Podiatry)(Hons) I play with feet.

SMA Level 1 Sports Trainer, and I have the stomach to prove it

    First Aid Level 3

    mmmm exciting.

    Unqualifications:

I like having a finger in every pie, despite the fact I can't cook.

Pulling things apart and putting them back together, better than before, with parts left over...

I hate computers, which makes me good fixing them

I like flying planes. Fast ones. (both real, imagined and RC)

I like Sarah. A lot. I tell her all the time.

    Dog trainer (aren't we all?)

Chief psychologist to the Sarah Federation

Movie collector (over 600 at the moment, all catalogued)

    Cricket fanatic (not a Boony)

That's all I can think of right now.

  3. I absolutely bloody wish I could get there to join you guys, and it was on the cards for quite some time. Easy enough getting to you, but I don't think I would have had enough time to get back to albury. I have about 6 patients booked in on Monday, so I just couldn't take the risk.

    Talk about jealousy and envy...

Maybe I can help set up a similar chapter back in Perth for when the ARC is there... In the meantime, I will have to survive by watching WRC, SBS, 1pm.

    Have fun guys.

    (runs away crying)

  4. Yes, I have had big problem with my facelift.

I recently couldn't start the car, and subsequently had to change the battery.

Something about leaving the door open overnight. I think it is a manufacturing fault. The car should know better.

    Otherwise I friggin love it!!!

  5. I would certainly get advice from the ombudsman - there you cannot go wrong.

I know you bought the car because you liked it, so if Toyota are willing to fix any issues for you, then take it (as I imagine getting your money back will be much harder). It may also be worth your while to get the car assessed by an independent party (RACV etc) just to make sure all is okay.

But really, having a leaky booty is not the done thing these days!

  6. Mention the fact that the automotive ombudsman would be interested in this case.

All dealers, by law, have to disclose the known history of the car prior to sale. If they knew about the accident, the damage and subsequent repair, they should have presented you with a written/typed disclaimer. This allows them to cover their own behinds if you decide to claim warrantee issues.

I believe without this documentation, they have, in essence, misled and lied to you.

Read through the sales documentation that they gave you, and look for anything that relates to the prior condition of the car (eg, "This car has not knownly been involved in an accident OR the buyer has been informed of such said damage to the vehicle" etc etc). See what it says.
