  1. I used to love the old T-18's, really good looking cars for their time :)
  2. Called the VXR http://www.hsv.com.au/images/ads/viral/vxr.html Looks quite nice.
  3. I have seen a few of the old AWD corollas around, they look like the toyota tercel a bit.
  4. Its because you are in Sydney, I currently pay over $1,200 30 year old Male clean record max no claim, NRMA were even more than that. One more reason why im moving to Bris :).
  5. you should do some research.. the "crappy chinese" factory you mention are thats where most of the componants in sony gear is made... its only the elecronics (which some of the electronic componants are made in China) are then put togethr by japanase factories. If i said to you go and have a look at where all the products are made in your home you would see that you have purchased so called "crappy chinese" made products. I bet even the shirt on your back is made in china. Also isnt china now the second most powerful economy in the world? (or getting there very quickly) America being the first.. i can bet you China will soon be the most powerfull country in the world.. afterall they are buying out alot of the large banks in the USA. So, i reckon before slating chinese made products (not saying all is good as there is some crap floating around) I would research actually how big the chinese industry is.. you will be highly suprised. Japan is too small to have such a enourmous industry making plastics and electronics products... its all imported in!! ← Steve I see the point you are raising re: the economy etc and while there is merit in it, the liklihood of you doing something potentialy fatal with a Sony TV as opposed to in a vehicle is relatively slim. No matter how good they make TV's and white good componants I don't see the direct reference to the context of poor safety standards on vehicles.

  7. Im 30, max no claim, $1185 with AAMI for an 03 Sportivo. Can't wait until we move to QLD :D
  8. I thought you were supposed to rub with a chamois rather than press and lift.
  9. Last wash mine got was at the dealer............. 18 months ago :P It rains every so often, thats wash enough for my liking :D
  10. I wonder if they will call it the ST220 because 165KW = 220hp and the prior one is the ST170 (170 hp or 127 KW)
  11. I reckon its to be able to plug in sound devices, phones etc etc they are all going USB now :)
  12. Bugger I posted in the wrong section Mods, can you move this to the corolla section please :). Cheers
  13. Hey thats a point, anyone who has upgrades the wheels got the original rubber they want to sell, or even better if you want to get rid of your original mags with rubber how much do you want?.
  14. I have just hit 50,000 and am about to replace the shoes for the first time. Is this about normal or have people gotten more / less from the stock tires?.
  15. $55K can put u behind the wheel of a EVO 8 ....... why oh why would u choose the mini over the evo ??????? ← There is quite an easy answer to that. My first car was a Mini, its just.......... I dunno its just a Mini thing I guess. My Fiance absolutely adores them and we both want a convertible as we will be living in QLD. We looked at Mercs and various $100,000+ vehicles but to be honest, we love the Minis so much and why spend over $100,000 on a convertible vehicle just cos it says Mercedes Benz on it. We think the Mini is awseome, its cute, comfy, fast enough for our purposes (I really have no interest in things like Evo's which are a butt load of power in a car that realistically is not comfy and designed to commute to work in, im 30 years old, I gotta think about comfort now :)). For the money, the Mini is a really good choice for us. Realistically we could afford anything up to about $200,000 but why would we bother? we can get a mini for just over a quarter of that and be really happy with it :).
  16. I have run one with a turbo before, I got my ***** kicked. They run the SR20, its easy to get the manifold and turbo from the SR20 turbo as used in many nissan drifters.
  17. Nice :D ← Hehehe yeah, the fiance wanted the Cooper S convertible and I expressed concerns that it was not really any more powerful than our current car (Sportivo) so I did some research and told her about the John Cooper upgrade for $9,500 and she said "Well clearly we NEED that upgrade" :). It gives you a bigger intercooler and some other funky stuff it takes the specs out to this: Power: 210 bhp (154 KW) @ 6950 rpm Max Torque: 245 Nm @ 4500 revs Top Speed: 143 mph (230kmh) 0-62mph: 6.6 seconds 50-75 mph: 5.4 seconds (4th gear) 6.7 seconds (5th gear) I think this is a good step up from the standard :).
  18. Lets not forget how much the Corolla Sportivo was bagged out in the begining. Im quite intrigued to see how this vehicle performs and I LOVE the dash :). Its going to have to be one special vehicle to change my mind though, my next car is a convertible Mini Cooper S with the John Cooper upgrade kit :).
  19. Im on Firefox 1.0.3 Search button works I never use it though, I would rather post a question here, that way the forums get some use :P :P :P
  20. Securing it I was thinking of making a custom mouting bracket with claw like hooks which can be tightened onto the mesh, its not exactly heavy so I dont see that it would damage the mesh :).
  21. Actually, on second thoughts, would the water from the rain have a detrimental effect on this or could I effectively water proof it enough with the heandy use of insulation tape?. Just to remind you I want to have the glowing "Corolla" thingy behind the mesh in my sports grill and wire it into the headlight switch.
