  1. To tell the truth, I really don't know what would happen. When stuff like that occurs, it's all like auto-pilot. The actions required to avoid the accident just happen. I can think things I would do to avoid it, but the circumstances usually vary depending on how the car is moving, and your mind somehow takes control.
  2. Faster for me cause everything pretty much starts on Thursday for me.
  3. Judging by the fact that he said when his heater is on, the air gets cooler as he drives, indicates that it is more likely an open thermostat than a faulty sensor.
  4. I'll figure something out.
  5. How much was that gauge? I am searching for some gauges to replace my A/C dials like this guy, and those might send me in the right direction:
  6. Fibreglass is actually easier to repair than ABS. Usually once an ABS body part is stuffed, it gets to the point that it's cheaper and more efficient to replace than repair. How easily the fibreglass part can get damaged depends on it's quality. One example of how easy it is to damage fibreglass is a speedbump. If you've ever approached a tall speedbump (or even curb) and kind of hit it with your bumper, if you had just the usual ABS bumper, you would walk out finding that just the paint on it would be scraped. It would have withstood the minor impact. If it were fibreglass though, there would be a good possibility that you can crack it in half. As well, if you're on a highway and a large stone manages to hit your bumper, if it were ABS, the stone would most likely chip the paint and bounce off. With fibreglass, you have a good possibility that it will create 'spider-like' cracks in it.
  7. Of course there is some potential to gain some power by not only performing modifications to the engine, but changing or adjusting the ECU to match these mods. Like said though, Unichip does not have a solution that is compatible with the Aurion yet. It's also wise to perform your modifications first (eg. exhaust and intake) before you go ahead and work on the ECU so that you tune it once everything else is completed, then you won't be going backwards and forwards.
  8. The main two materials you have for most body kits are fibreglass and ABS. In general: Fibreglass - Lightweight, very solid, and cheaper to produce. However because it is fairly solid, it is more prone to cracking so using it as a bumper or skirt can lead to easier damage if you hit something with it. ABS - Very durable and provides more flexibility and it has a higher impact strength than fibreglass. The main disadvantage is that it costs more to produce and it weighs more than fibreglass.
  9. Even still, I don't imagine any major gains to be made by messing around with the VVT-i on the already highly tuned 2GR. Now if it was VVTi-L that you were adjusting... then there would be some advantage.
  10. As it currently stands, there is no aftermarket ECU modification or piggy-back ECU that has been tested for the 2GR-FE. As well, Unichip currently do not offer a solution for the Aurion. There are many other things you can do to the car first to gain more power before an aftermarket ECU would be of any use.

I'd just say your butt-dyno is playing up on you. That's odd, cause usually it's the other way around, but usually any losses or gains from these changes shouldn't be significant enough to be able to really fell much of a difference. Just to be a smart-a**, don't the brakes technically have some part to do with the intake? Such as the vacuum booster. If may be connected past the throttle body, but that's still considered part of the intake. In the given scenario, it wouldn't really matter, just something I was thinking about.
  12. May be significantly less, but it's still a fair bit of heat to be able to trust just any type of epoxy.
  13. Yeah, I guess I'd be up for that. I'll see how I feel towards the end of the week.
  14. +1. If you are going to clue anything inside your headlight, definitely go for the JBWeld. You can find it in Australia if you look around. I've seen it here once, I can't quite remember where. I think it was a truck and diesel spares shop. That stuff is the ducks nuts. It's like liquid metal and once it sets, is extremely hard and heat resistant, good for inside the headlight. Just make sure you get it right cause if you don't, the only way to remove it is by grinding or filing.
  15. So far there have been no reports of anyone performing this change. This would probably be due to the fact that it's not as easy as you would think. You would at least need the following components: smart entry ECU, steering column with motorized locking mechanism, RFID push button (which will cost around $300 alone), new door handle with sensor, boot release push button, and the remote itself. Maybe you should try ringing Toyota to find out just how much all that is going to cost you. Edit: Wow, I actually wrote this one up before, and it was much neater as well. I should have used that instead: SX6... no can do (cheaply). This is what you would need: 1) The control ECU for the Smart Entry, 2) Receiver for the ECU (mounted on C-Pillar, and different to the standard one), 3) The push button switch, 4) New drivers side door handle, 5) New steering column (as it has a motorised lock assembly and no key tumbler) 6) At least one Smart Entry transponder key. Don't ask me how much that will all cost. My best guess would be that you won't want to know.
  16. Didn't stop me when I had my 91 Camry. That thing was pushed pretty damn hard. one thing to remeber is Location, Location, Location..... so just make sure you're cruising past librarys at 5 pm. Hey... don't knock the Camry.
  17. Well just an update for everyone if you didn't watch ACA: I'm no racist, says Clare the bogan
  18. Welcome to the club Stephanie. Go the mighty Yaris.
  19. Yeah, I'm still in. No reason not to... except for fuel costs hurting the pocket... but that's another story.
  20. That engine bay is lookin' pretty damn fine. Didn't like being Caldina_Gurl I take it?
  21. Shame you didn't keep the addiction :P. You car was shocking by the time you were done with it.
  22. A great way to ruin the TRD I'd say. This was the general idea thanks to goppy.
  23. Apparently TRD Aurion conversions have ceased as of March 31st this year. Unfortunately not 'limited' enough to help it gain value.
  24. Man, that happens to me all the time as well and it sure annoys me as well. It's like the whole situation when you are standing in line at the shops and it's really long and you are about 4 people from the checkout. Then the checkout next to you opens and everyone from behind you moves there and get served before you. Seriously, does anyone have any courtesy these days to those that were clearly waiting before you? And while on that topic, when you are in peak hour traffic at an intersection waiting to merge into the flow of traffic. Usually you get the times when every second car lets one merge in, and everything flows really nicely. But then you get the times when people are just so inconsiderate that they don't slow down that slightest amount to let anyone in, or they bunch up real tight so they block the intersection.
  25. ^ Good one there. I'm surprised this guy hasn't been written off yet.
