Me... I'm doing whatever I can to make this day go quicker. Also trying to avoid going out to generally everywhere. Most depressing thing to go out on Valentines Day and watch all the couples enjoying themselves.

Mine jams up on its own every so often. You would be pressing at it non stop and it would just go nowhere. Narrowed the issue down to the mechanism that controls the lock on it and the little plastic tabs that are on the inside. I will take some photos to show you. Edit: Now this first issue is probably not your problem because you mentioned that you probably have a pen stuck in there. My second set of photos should help out with that. But it is not jammed with a pen and you are having the issue I get, then these photos will show the problem areas. I'm never good with written instructions, but I will try. Firstly, try to open it like shown in my first photo. Push gently with your index finger, then forcefully with your thumb. It it manages to release it and you find nothing blocking it, then inspect to ensure the surface is smooth inside as shown in photo 2. If not, you will need to pull the console out and make sure it is smooth from behind like photo 3 and not misaligned like photo 4. Then you just need to spray some kind of lubricant (silicone spray works well) into the channels shown on photo 2 as you can see the plastic tabs which slide along them in photo 5. If everything appeared aligned when you had a look in the space shown in photo 2, you can simply just spray some lubricant in there without removing the console and saving a little bit of time and effort. Or you can do the following, and while you are at it, spray some lubricant in the channels I mentioned earlier. Just remove the 4 screws as shown then everything will come out.

Where did you do EE at? I was at Yeronga (along with Daryl), a lot of the teachers there should be able to hook you up with some jobs. By the end of last year, I think they were doing anything and everything to get rid of us. The market still ain't so great at the moment though unfortunately.

The TRD is a little more sensitive though. Ash had removed everything after the cats and still had that sensor in the same place, and his came up with an error code. The standard Aurion is a little more forgiving.

Well, I just got my upcoming schedule for the next couple of months. I have a 2 week availability from the 21st of March to the 5th of April. Just letting you know Drew. If the SRI goes to plan around that time, I'm definitely in.

I can see this this thread (and your other two) not lasting very long. There are rules to follow you know.

One thing that can also cause that issue is the throttle position sensor. In most cases they essentially are a a potentiometer and can get a bit worn in some cases. Contact cleaner can sometimes help to clean it up. You will usually find it on the the side of the throttle butterfly valve.

Yeah, funny you brought that up. I looked at that myself and though 'hmmmm'. Butt then I noticed the little thing at the bottom 'Notes: 5-speed'. One would suspect this is for the manual transmission model of the Camry only. Ouch, that's harsh to hear mate. Hope you find something soon. It's not easy when you don't have that constant source of income anymore. This time of the year is not really that super when it comes to looking for a job. I'm doing contract work at the moment and am only secure for the next 6 months. This will buy me some time in which hopefully I will find another job. I just need to learn to save the money I'll earn just in case I can't find one in time.

It also comes down to the actual profile of the tire itself and how much your are going to be carrying. You will find a figure on the sidewall, but that only states a maximum figure that should never be exceeded. Generally, you can look at the sticker usually located on the car body when you open the drivers (sometimes passenger) door, and this will give some recommended figures if your tire size matches up. Like I said though, it can always vary with different tires. A good average in most scenarios is about 32 PSI.

I just hate it when you have to take so much care on the roads because of idiot drivers like that. You can be driving the best you can, but nothing can stop some other fool writing you off.

You and your progression on the mods Rowan. I am just about willing to throw in the towel and leave my car as is. I don't think I can pick myself up enough to jump back in the game. I need to put in some serious dollars and get some forced induction. My time is Brisbane over the next month or two is a bit iffy. I've got work going on all over the place in Coffs Harbour, Darwin, and Adelaide. I guess if Drew picks up the alloy for the SRI while I'm away, and you are more available Rowan, I guess you can take the honours of being the guinea pig. If all goes well with the SRI, if I ask Drew nicely, he may make a second one up for me as I will be a guaranteed order for that upon my return. On a side note, I was driving through Indro today and realised just how much safer it would be with the SRI instead of the CAI. The sudden rain that hit us flooded parts of the road in which a CAI would have easily scooped up. As for the exhaust, for those that are local like Rowan, I'll speak to you personally to mention the cost. It's probably not the most appropriate to discuss that here. The idea was this: The stock exhaust on the Aurion is pretty ideal for its use. There isn't really much gains to be had from extra exhaust work alone; just something with a bit more grunt to it. So they were thinking of reworking that squished section at the front starting at the two cats. There will still need to be that U bend there to maintain clearances, plus to prevent the sensor reading errors. It will then merge neatly into 2.5 inch pipe. After that the third cat and resonator will be removed and replaced with two hot-dog resonators. They reckon that removing the cat shouldn't make any difference since the car is emissions rated for higher than the Australian standard and the first two do the job sufficiently. This step can be altered if you're not comfortable. Then keep running the 2.5 inch to the rear after which it will split into 2 inch for a new set of mufflers on each side. They reckon that you can save some money by only getting the mandrel bends on that reworked section at the front. Because the run from there to the rear of the car only has a couple of minor bends and stays relatively straight, a traditional radius bend will be sufficient and a mandrel bend in those areas will not provide any benefits.

You don't want too fine of a mesh because it ruins the effect. The mesh they sell is the same as the mesh that came on my grill. I received my grill like this with this sized mesh on it. Like I said though, the Autobarn stuff is exactly the same, just in a gloss black. You will still see through it in bright light, but you're better off doubling up on mesh rather than using an even finer mesh.

Agreed 100%. That turbo spool up was insane. Imagine the feeling of accelerating like that on the road.
