  1. I too find that it is a little odd to simply just narrow the problem down to the slotted design of the rotor. There is a lot more to it than just that.
  2. I kind of have to LOL at that. You are sounding like a salesman now. The rotors and callipers are of a design from a car built in the late 90's. Personally, yes they are decent brakes, but they aren't exactly high performance when you consider the upper offerings from other car manufacturers have way better brakes than the TRD offering. Realistically, the difference in performance between the Kluger brakes and the 'TRD' ones is not going to be a huge deal on the streets... even with spirited driving. Given the value of the modification as well, bang for your buck probably works out much better than the TRD ones.
  3. Welcome Christine. There is nothing out of the ordinary there. I do the same every time I drive by a large glass shopfront. There is something about seeing your own car's refection compared to photos.
  4. Yes they do if they are not set up correctly to convert it. Since your gearbox is essentially reducing the engine speed, the torque figure ends up getting multiplied accordingly.
  5. That is effing fantastic news Steven.
  6. Count me in for either day.
  7. That said, the ECU ChipTorque deals with is the XEDE Processor. I would imagine that the eManage Ultimate would have a higher level of adjustment that may provide some gains.
  8. You are so trolling. There is nothing done to that photo That said, my mind it telling me that I can see something different.....
  9. Same here. When I first got my DBA 4000's, I used Bendix CT's and did few hard mountain runs. Gave me no grief whatsoever.
  10. There are piggyback ECU's that can be used on the 2GR-FE. eManage and Haltech are a couple. Even stand-alone ECU's can be wired as a piggyback as required. It's not actually a question of why there aren't any, but more of a question of why it's not widely done and documented. Simple. The Aurion/American V6 Gen 6+ Camry is not in the right market to warrant having a group out there who have gone to the effort and release plug-and-play solutions for it. At the end of the day, it is simply just a family car, not a sports car. Also, the large amount of people who would rather get a plug-and-play solution rather than pioneering a solution is what leads to no development occurring. If you are after a plug-and-play solution, this is about the closest you will get, but there aren't any promises that it will work with the Australian Aurion: MWR Plug N Play Adapter - eManage Ultimate - 2006-09 2GR-FE 3.5L
  11. The ideal tire pressure can also vary between different tires. Typically I found that on the 17 inch tires of the Sportivo, 35-38 PSI seemed to be the ideal range for most types of tires you would come across. Also, bear in mind that the figure printed on the tire placard tend to err more on the minimum recommended value side of things.
  12. Just increase your scale to cover the entire panel.
  13. I'd get a new set of rotors. Pick up a set of RDA rotors since they are quite good value, and if you feel the need to spend more, get some DBA. I personally don't think machining rotors is that cost efficient since you are just making them wear out faster and making it more prone to develop the shuddering again.
  14. Well that one is quite a debatable topic. You do get a very small power gain from using premium as the engine can adjust the timing to take advantage of the higher octane. That said, I personally don't think you are going to notice this gain. The other benefit that is commonly talked about is if you use BP Ultimate. It's not so much the octane rating that is the benefit, but rather the additives that BP add to their Ultimate that people like. As for whether this is placebo effect or not, that can be argued, but people like the extra peace of mind.
  15. Double check to ensure that no one has strapped a heat sensitive explosive device to your car. Could be the timer on it counting down more and more each time. On topic though, the two posts above pretty much answer your question.
  16. Hey Guys. To try and make this process more reasonable, I have created a form so you can vote for the member who you would like to earn a Club Contributor star (or two... or five). Click on the following link to start voting. SURVEY: TOCAU Club Contributor Voting Form All votes will be handled privately so no one will know who you voted for. When someone receives a star, I will post the contents of the last box in the thread here so people can get an idea as to why they were nominated. The posts will not contain your username so it will be anonymous in a way. So start voting guys.
  17. LOL. How convenient.
  18. Who was that directed at? The only one in this thread that is definitely going to spend money is 450HP/tonne... and given what he is building, I can say that he certainly isn't wasting his money.
  19. Did you try the 'hit it with your fist' method? If that doesn't do anything and you know how to pull things apart, it may help to pull it apart and make sure everything is looking good, otherwise it may be time for a new unit. Aftermarket eBay ones go for cheap these days.
  20. Do you reckon the block/internals (that you can't change) can take that?
  21. Bear in mind that his solution may not exactly just bolt into an Aurion as it is going to be in a different layout. I'm sure it would... but I don't exactly think he is planning on getting 450HP at the wheels. I'm not even sure the engine would take that. 450HP per tonne (and N/A too!) is a different story however.
  22. To make this all fair and all, I am in the process of creating a voting procedure as well as a scale system to determine how many stars get awarded. I shall chime in again once I have sorted it all out.
  23. All grades of Aurion don't do it.
  24. Thanks Steven. For a note, Steve did this for my driver's side door switch. Prior to modifying the switch, my door light would flicker ever few seconds or so and lightly tapping the door switch would also make it do it. After modifying the switch however, the flicker is completely gone. Even jiggling the door switch did not make it flicker.
  25. No. You have to pay attention to the warning lights with your eyes. Not hard to miss a Check Engine Light or any other warning light for that matter though.
