  1. I have uploaded the files for all to access. The contents are as follows: iGO8 system files + NAVTEQ 2010Q2 maps (latest) + 3D bulidings and terrain + Text-to-Speech (TTS) The TTS may cause your GPS to lag, so I can't guarantee it. File size is about 524MB because of the 148MB of TTS stuff, but this is a one size fits all package. Just extract the iGO8 folder in the root of the ZIP onto the root of your SD card. Select iGO8.exe as the GPS program and you are all set. Feel free to get them from here: http://djkor.com/external/document/firmware.zip
  2. I've got my eye on you.
  3. Steve. Please do me a favour and buy that. ... because if you don't, I will.

    2007 Camry

If you really think so. Just keep that one to yourself.
  5. This. And this.
  6. Probably late but a it's easiest done with a pipe wrench or something of equivalence to grip the outer section (not the part where the removal tool fits on but the part above it) then you get your 3/8 inch drive and remove the smaller cap. Looks like your last service guy did it up much tighter than required... which is only just hand tight basically. Or he thought he would tighten the oil filter cap by putting the drain cap back on and tightening it with his 3/8 inch drive.
  7. That's not overkill, leaving it for around 5-6 hours like I sometimes do is.
  8. Well if you figure that others would benefit from the information, why not keep it in his thread: My 2007 Corolla
  9. Firstly, what qualifications do you have? If you want to get into F1, you will need to work your way up there. Secondly, what type of money are you made of? If you want a day package type of thing though, can afford the $2000 or so for the day and the airfares etc to get to France, then AGS Formule 1 may be able to satisfy the experience. Prices are found here.
  10. Are you aware of a braking feature called ABS? If not, I suggest you look it up. You should also familiarise yourself with the search feature: Knocking sound when hard braking
  11. I hope your results are better than mine. As I was driving down the road, I had the map lock up every couple of minutes (as in your position just sticks in one place despite the fact you are moving). The only way to clear it was to tap the map to bring up the menu then press back to get back to the map screen where it would then show your current position.
  12. I just installed TomTom onto my unit (I'm not a fan of TomTom except on my mobile because I like the look of iGO8 better), but I figured I may as well try it out. Works perfect in terms of the software install... thanks Mick. Just one thing that the owners of the autome305 unit need to pay attention to (maybe others as well). When you set up your GPS receiver, you need to select 'Other NMEA Receiver' (or whatever... it has NMEA in it ), and select a baud rate of '9600' and connected to 'Serial on COM 2'.
  13. I thought of it back in August 2008
  14. Mate, send the guy a PM. Firstly, he has made only 4 posts since he has joined and was last seen online in May. There is no need to create a new thread... especially in the Members Rides just to try and contact someone. Edit: Moved to Club Lounge for now.
  15. I wouldn't have a clue.. Don't think so. Fujita only have one intake for the 2007+ V6 Camry and that is the CAI. Solomon was one of the first members on the board here to fit on to his Aurion. They do sound really good, because it brings the pod behind the fog light where sound can 'escape' better.
  16. Spoke with a Fuchs representative the other month (LOL) and they told me that the Titan Super GTO in fact is not a fully synthetic, just a synthetic blend. When I asked them why their previous packaging and even website said fully synthetic, they could not comment. Speaking to a a guy at Queensland Diesel Spares (I think), he was saying something about how some standards apparently have changed in the way they rate the oil. Something like how an oil could have previously been labelled a fully synthetic under certain specifications, even if that isn't entirely true. I really don't know who's saying what, but either way for the sake of the discussion, Fuchs Titan GTO is only a synthetic blend. Next oil change I will be running Fuchs GT1 PRO C3... provided it doesn't break the bank. Will have to order that one. To be honest though, I'm only changing because I want to put a fully synthetic in it. No reason in particular... just what I feel like doing. To be serious, the Titan Super GTO does the trick and hasn't let me down.
  17. They are referring to metallic tints. A metallic tint can interfere with the radio antenna that is fixed to the rear window glass. It is advised not to use a metallic tint film on the rear window, but this doesn't necessarily mean you can't get away with it. AM will be a bit more sensitive to a metallic tint than FM. On my last Sportivo, I had Midnight Express window tinting all round (which is a metallic tint) and this had no negative effects on my radio reception. You situation can vary though, so it's your choice. Also, a search would have yielded this result which has some discussion that could be of use: Window Tinting advice
  18. Great minds think alike. I was thinking about doing a 'paddle shift' type of thing on my last Aurion. The idea was less of paddles, and more of a push button switches. You know those really short travel push buttons? Well I was thinking of mounting it on that plastic at the rear of the steering wheel at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions. Then wiring it up as you said. But at the end of the day, I realised that with the massive delay the Aurion has with gear changes, having quick shift buttons would be a little on the useless side. Up to you what you would like to do however. I figured you would have been paying attention to anything but the road ahead

LOL. Such a noob. Needed to print instructions to do an oil change :P

Well, with the forum ads now showing the GoPro, I'm really starting to think more and more about getting myself a camera of sorts. What do you think I should get? 1) VholdR ContourHD, or 2) GoPro HD Hero
  21. I don't think it's necessary. It's your call though. I've taken my Aurion's into Toyota for a service numerous times with the various things done to it and they never really said anything or had an issue with it. If you have something broken that could be somehow related to your mods (in the eyes of Toyota), then that's a different story.

Well it's good to see that the dealers are now a bit more open with supplying their required tool. A while back some of them were a bit less helpful in getting you the part you are after. But ~$45 is a bit expensive. I'm pretty sure when I got a price from Repco to get the T&E part, it was something around the $20 mark. Never bought it though and have still successfully done 5 or so oil filter changes.
  23. Not saying that is the cause, but just one thing you should keep an eye out for as it can happen. Otherwise, it could be a faulty dock.
  24. You mentioned there that the dock has a tendency to 'pop' out. Well, have you ever connected something up (like a car battery) and noticed how you get a little spark. Well when your dock pops out and/or during the process of plugging it back in, you can occasionally get this spark (or in electrical terms, and arc). Now an electric arc can increase power draw for the time that it occurs. Usually it's that quick that nothing will result, but if it lasts just for that millisecond too long, it can potentially cause a fuse to blow. So basically, what you want to do is secure the dock in a fashion that prevents it from disconnecting.
  25. Far out mate. Damn those lowbreeds out there should go play on some train tracks or something.
