Well on Wednesday i copped a $100 parking fine. That was one expensive chinese lunch. I nearly got done once by a roadside unmarked camera, but i managed to see it just before i passed it and slowed down to escape the nasty flash.

Thanx Steve, i'll get on to them first thing monday morning, much appreciated.

Ive just clocked 10000 kms, i only had one major problem andthat was a rattle coming from somewhere at the back of the car, it turned out to be a loose number plate which was fixed, however ive got a new problem which is on the passanger side. When i drive over bumps there is a nasty thump thump noise, and it only does it on that side of the car, all the time. Could that be a faulty shock absorber?

Spot on Peeks. The Sportivo muffler is fairly good as it is, i think it's designed for optimum performance as far as street legality is required in terms of noise etc, as well as backpressure. The only muffler i would consider would be a TRD unit or a Veilside, or Rod Millen. The cheap ones you find at Autobarn and exhaust places drone too much, sure it sounds good AT FIRST, then you just want peace and quiet.

You naughty boy ... and after our chat in the weekend....tut tut.
:D :D I know man, but the temptation was too great, i mean you dont get a Pug wanting to race every night. I was just lucky this time ;), so all the B******* aside i hope you guys take note that this car gets lively under heavy breaking, which is why i put this topic up, you can get caught out very easily.

Hey orrock, PM me your mobile, there will be a few of us from melbourne going.

Last nite i had the pleasure to take on a pug 206 GTI, new model shape. Those cars are very quick, plenty of midrange torque, but once the rolla got into lift, i was reeling him in like a fish. He flew past me on a long stretch of road (must have seen my TRD badge :D ), so i dropped it a couple (3) gears, hit lift, caught up, bang 4th, topped it out in 4th at which stage he was behind me. I just put it in 5th when i saw the roundabout ahead, and at that speed it comes quick at you, i was like ohhhhhh S***, i applied brake pressure, not full on just maybe half, and the tail started to fish out, i grabed on the wheel, held on tight, entered the roundabout at around 100kph, heavy on brakes, abs kicked in and i was able to glide through. For a sec i thought the ***** end was gona let go, but managed to keep her in line even though i took over two driving lanes. Scary stuff. The point im trying to make is that the stivo, at high speed breaking is not very stable, maybe due to its road clearance, or the weight balance where the rear end is fairly light, however beware when breaking from high (160+) speeds it's not a comfy ride, it requires full concentration and a bit of skill. I guess i was just lucky i scaped through unscaved. I gotta keep outa lift, Seriously <_<

Thanx for the pics man. Did you take any shots of any female Models :D ?

Give it time, i had similar issues but its smoothened out. The only time it really got difficult to use in 2nd, 3rd 4th and 5th was when i had a crap batch of optimax. im not saying optimax is crap, but that batch made the car feel weak and rattly. I swapped to Mobil, and it was sweet as new. Now it's all i use.

Awesome mate :D , i did the same thing on my first day, and it runs like a dream, dont be scared to open her up

I used some $20 engine paint for high temperatures but it still comes off especially when i first tried to install the CAI and left tools on it etc. I think it needs to be baked like a bumper since it's plastic and the paint doesent stick to it that good.

An ideal cruise would be like a yearly TOC club cruise, but damn this country is spread all over, but that would be fun :) . Highly unlikely though :(

20-25 kW, what did you guys order the blitz supercharger? I doubt it. But that is alot of power increase, good luck with the stuff, hope it fits for you :)
-
Yeah I stopped messing around after $270 bucks, it can get outa hand this exhaust bit. I am still tempted to try new ones but i know the result. As for free flowing mufflers, Peekay i think they improve performance marginally, but are way way too noisy.

I reackon 2zz has done a runner on you mate, as for the coffee, anytime man, i'll even throw in a blonde for ya :P
-
You can lower it up to 50mm and it still wont scrape the rubber, 35 looks just nice and it wont touch anything, and is still good for speedhumps.
-
You guys really think the Stivo can go off the clock, hes doing like 230-235 in that photo and only 7000rpm.

Cheers bro :D enjoy, and make sure you keep her clean.

Everytime im at the lights next to a P plater or a V8 :D .

sourcing more power from a NA engine thats just about at its peak is extremely stressful for the motor :( sorry for sounding like an old women. i ll be happy with CAI and a decent muffler :D . Cams and revised computers and injectors equal lots of money, insurance and warranty problems and reduce the life of the engine, suspension and braking system.
having said that in a few months when some of u guys do some serious mods that produce some killer performance, like a sheep i will follow
It might reduce the engine's lifespan, but how long you plan to keep the car for, Id hate to own a sportivo that has done 150+ K's. Ive also heard of a endurance test where the 2zz-ge was revved at 11,000rpm and it lasted for around 48 hours before it blew up. Now that is pretty damn good, so the internals must be very strong.

Check this. i ordered mine last year in june, waited 4 months for it, and didnt even test drive one before. It finally arrived in October, picked her up on a friday from the dealer, it looked stunning, shiny black on a mid 20's day. The salesman said one thing "this car F***** hammers", i was like cool. First set of light i hit lift, and i S*** myself, started to get the shakes. I had a dumb grin on my face for the rest of the day :D. I'll never forget that day.
Whats a good price for Sportivo?

Welcome aboard Karolla, glad you could make it. If you live in Melbourne i'll be more than glad to take you for a spin or even better, come to the Auto Salon expo and there will be a couple more guys. The quality of these cars is not bad, they just have minor problems with vibrating dashes etc, you can look at previous topics to learn more, they have all been discussed. Apart from that feel free to ask anything, someone will reply with an answer :D .
