  1. With thongs? Isnt there a dress code? I got booted out cause my shirt got torn abit in a slight rough grab by a random
  2. I was just wonder if it is illegal to wear slip on shoes or drive barefoot because i tend to drive bare footed, and this afternoon my friend said it was illegal. I reckon driving with barefoot for me feels more comfortable and the chances of pedal slipping is less than when i wear shoes.
  3. Since i have a a small sports car, the horn is terrible, its a bit of a toot toot, i would replace it but spending money on something i dont use its kinda pointless. I never use my horn when someone cuts me off or so, just dont have that angry reaction. but i tell the kids in the passanger seats to constantly look at em as we drive by. its hell funny
  4. MMMM, who said rice had to be in bowls? I reckon the stickers make you stand out more IMO, im usually leader in my small random cruises with my friends and their friends and they all know who i am. Fill it in, i got 9 hehehe.
  5. MMMMM new car smell, i enjoyed that smell, but my mom had to put an air freshener in for some reason.....
  6. hehehe, brand wars!!!! and someone ice creamed my car when i was working......... damn kinds are so sad...
  7. its better to run another cable or upgrade to 4awg wire, i dont see people using a t junction for 4awg wire, its usually 2awg to 2x4awg or 0awg to 3x4awg. but i recommend running another cable or upgrading, i heard stories of splitting the 4awg will cause more heat on cheap cables and tend to wear the cables over time. to add, i was about to buy that exact set up, but settled for 2 type r 12" and a monoblock alpine amp, what i did to add a second amp was run 0awg wire to a singer t junction (1x0awg to 3x4awg) and used my old 4awg cable, cut it up and ran it to the 2 amps from the T junction, from there your amps should have its own grounding each, 1 per amp. the t junction is about about 20-30$ and if you do get 0awg wire which is about 20$ per metre or 50 for extremely high quality ones, you need a bigger fuse to boot, i got a stinger wafer where the fuse only costs 50$ and teh casing was like 100$ or so where as 4awg costs about 30$. so its about how much cash you got too oh yes too add, if your planning to put more junk in your trunk like i did, i have alot of neons and leds inside my car (which bounces to the bass) having 1 0awg wire is less hassle than have 2 4awg, having 2 4awg tends to be tedious when you ad another amp or so because in the end you have to rip out all thoes cables and replace it with 0awg and you have alot of 4awg cable left over. Another thing is when your running through the fire wall, its harder to seal 2 4awg wire than 1 0awg wire. However on the upside of the 4awg cable is that its a smaller cable and is easy to hide for example running on the side of the seats, its more manuverable. ******For your case, IMO i would run a 0gauge wire near to your fusion amp, connect it to a t section, have a 4awg cable go into it, and use the rest of the cable you ripped out in your old cable set up and run it to the trunk, this way it reduces cable waste, on the floor collecting dust or the trouble in selling it.****** And enjoy the tunes...... at an appropriate level :)
  8. i tend to drive at teh exact speed limit (70 at a 70, 60 at a 60) and just enjoy the ride, what really annoys me is when p platers see my p plates and decide to tail gate, over take and slow down or constant reving behind me, the question is Whats the rush? oh and at forest lake, the left turn only round about on left lane and i was on the right going forward, the left lane guy went forward and almost took me out, and he indicated left too, dirty..........
  9. you could buy a "muti vga box thingy" its pretty much a giant splitter with its own power, one side is for output (numbers vary depending on what you get) and one side is input, with a 12v adaptor power. some models allow onboard switching and multiple viewing (this stuff is used for multiple display at harvey norman and junk, well some...). the guy at your local d ick smith power house or other electronic retailer should know what a "VGA splitter" is. unless they are pretty lame. *Important* May sure you get the one with its own power supply (it gives out better picture than one without) and make sure its the right one (some are vga1 to vga1 and vga2 to vga2, this thing is just to make your entertainment system look neat). *Make sure you buy the right one for your application, which would be 2 input and 1 output* (Input for your 2 machines (i got an xbox and a ps3) and output which goes into your pc monitor.
  10. the way i think of car audio is having crisp sounds, hear all tones, low and high, something to install and something to be proud of. But getting into sound wars when i want my music is a different feeling, i didnt know it existed like the fire against holdens and fords.
  11. thanks for the offer but im getting rid of the car once i get off my P's and big changes that is noticable by my parents would result in a 3 hour repeating of a 15 minute lecture. The battery is slightly bigger than a yellow top by optima (a audio specific deep cycle) so it will be a slight waste, got the battery for free hehe.
  12. hehehe, i live in a pretty bad neighbourhood, so i built my system so its extremely difficult to steal. (built it outside the trunk but assembled it in the trunk so its almost impossible to take out). my car security is extremely awesome IMO, it shoots out lasers and says "HALP! CALL THE POLE-EEECE! hehehe.
  13. Americans... i wish a real truck can do that, BTW i heard stories if you reverse on the motor way whist the front of your car is pointing in the right direction, you wont get a fine for wrong way driving but you'll get wreckless endangerment and other stuff like that. Anyone wanna bust this myth? Announcer: "where is the war in iraq?" Interviewee: "its right here" *points to australia*
  14. does anyone have a audio decal on their rear windscreen which provokes people to turn up their music behind you at any time? cause it happened a couple of times to me and i wanna know whether if you see other people do this.
  15. happy single awareness day! the greatest day ever when you have a mates 20th birthday at 7pm, a couple was about to kiss when "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU" came on the speakers. How annoyed wil that guy be hehehe
  16. That is hilarious, personally, i wont take first class cause that money can be used elsewhere (sacraficing going out, luxury and partying for money for car) and flying jetstar, you buy food, the thing i love about coach, the chairs are cramp, i like it. I cant stop laughing
  17. i would assume something big was on the other side of the gate COUGH* COUGH* KABOOM*, but seriously, i would be pretty ****** off if i missed my flight and a huge holiday was planned. THERE IS NO REFUNDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. bad luck strikes again and it started to rain again. so my pods got post on hold again, well atleast one of em, but a plus side i got my personalised plate. okay what i did was to cut a 6.5" hole into the pods making sure it fits into the housing in the door (you dont want to have door plastic covering your 6.5" hole, that would be imbarassing. I used a drill for this cause my angle grinder didnt have the right blade and had a steel griding blade on (explaining why the edges a rough), make sure you WEAR A RESPERATOR, SAFETY GLASSES AND OVERALLS, you dont want to get fibreglass in your arms like i did. heres a pic of it clipping onto the door and checking whether there is any plastic in the way (trying not to mod the door). now place in your speaker and check where you have to put support poles to hold up your spacer and mark it. now to cut your support poles, i used 2cm x 2cm timber you get from bunnings for $2, i only used 1, as the spacer lent onto the pod. now attach it it screws to the spacer, (i dont have a pic because it was after lunch and you know how people get sloppy after lunch. now using builders bog/putty. fill in the gaps making sure you "nead" the hardening mixture and bog until it turns slightly pink, and use gloves, you dont want to turn out like "the thing" like i did. the pictures above was when it was still curing (still felt like wet playdoh), when its hard enough, use a knife of some sort and start making the edges smooth (doesnt have to be perfect, it can be sanded back later) and i dont have a picture of this because it was raining. from here you could cover it with vinyl and fill it up with expanding foam (make sure you have a hole at one end to push out the excess foam if the frame goes wonky), you could sand it and spray it or whatever you like one more thing. at lunch, a guy saw my alpine sticker when i was going through drive through at KFC, turned up his music. this isnt cool. annoying KFC employees may result in bad burgers or wraps (says the person handing me the food hehehe)
  19. i had a look at it today, i have to take out teh battery, cause the base had to be cut to fit the huge battery and is extremely heavy and the air filter had to be shifted abit, so in the end, i have to take out the air filter, the battery and the positive terminal (the fuse for the 0awg is too big to shift around) but jacking up the car would be a smart option i might take into account.
  20. sweet as, might drop by favourite car audio store some time soon. Thanks one more question, if i replace the battery to engine cable, do i have to completely disconnect the battery, or can i just replace the grounding wire to the engine whilst the grounding wire to the chassie is still attached.
  21. Im not cutting into the grill of the stock panel, it is gonna be removed and stored somewhere so when i resell the car, it can be placed back on. since it was made by fibreglass right over the top of the existing panel, it fits extremely snug, i also left some over hang on the bottom so it would clip on (make sure the over hang is not too far cause it may scrape your side guard thingy) and be held there by either screws or temporary adhesives. another way of doing this, is instead of using fibre glass just cut into the existing speaker panel, then screw a spacer on and use builder's bog to fill in the gap. I decided to use fibreglass because i like mucking around with it (i made fibreglass sand boards in wood work in high school) and since my speaker cover has a bunch of dimples in it, it would look pretty funny. But if this project fails, i might get a set of speaker panels from the wreckers and do this and fill the dimples in with builders bog/putty.
  22. its just been bad luck running around, every time i get a day off i gotta run some errons or something else, or its been raining, and my random orbital sander blew up today (so it will be rough as) but tomorrow i get to start putting in the spacer and bog the gap between the spacer and pod.
  23. sweet as, i already have the zero gauge to the chassie, but what would the 2 gauge to the engine block do? cause it will take a while to replace for me cause its covered in grease and is in a hard to reach place? If its ergent (for example, make soemthign explode) then ill put the effort in and do it asap and perspone my speakers again
  24. I have a mrp-m850 running 2 12"type R subs and a pdx4.100 connected with 4gauge wire(grounding and postitive) where the postive goes to a T junction and then 0awg wire then to a stinger wafer fuse which is connected to a 660cca battery. my question is: -Does it improve sound quality? -do i need a capacitor, i dont get dimming head lights and the battery is deep cycle 660cca with high quality 0awg cables? -If i do get a capacitor, does it connect to both amps, or should it just be on the monoblock. (im getting a fairly expensive 20frad if i you need to hook up both amps or a 5 frad for monoblock)? -once you charge it, does it ever have to be charged again? -how do you "discharge" the capacitor before removing it from the system (so you dont blow your fuses and shock yourself)? -Is it okay to have it near the woofer magnets (i have inverted subs with a tiny trunk)?
  25. after eadign that, it makes me feel like putting a kit frame to make my car into a supra hehe. with the fraction of the cost. but i wonder what type of music they would have played....
