They seem to be a sh!t design, thats all I have to say, I adjust them correctly at the wheels, lock up and back off 5 turns (any tighter and the handbrake shoes will rub constantly on the disc)... Adjust the cable afterwards and I'm never really satisfied with them...

Have to adjust the cable up heaps and then still, gotta push it all the way to the floor to hold...

Must be a crap design as so many people have found they don't work effectively at all from New!

I posted to the ToyotaNation forum (mostly North American users) and no one reports a problem with park brake.

Questions:

Is there some difference between North American Highlander and Australian Kluger park brake design?

How does the park brake actually work? (Pardon my ignorance)

Hi do anyone know where the adjustment screw on the handbrake cable is located i have a 2008 kluger and i removed all the plastic under the car to to my suprice is no adjustmen screw on the handbrake wire???

Can someone help me out
