I have a 42" blue underglow.

Hooked up to my batt atm with a switch under the bonnet.

Want to know where I could hook it up so if I had left the switch on it would turn off when the car was switched off.

Got a 1985 Toyota Corona.

Any help would be great!

Thanks ppls.

one pain staking way that i definantly know would turn off when you remove the key is behind the 12v DC cigarette lighter where the side of the back is negative and the center is positive. With this you could also put the switch inside the car. The annoying thing is that you have to have the key in the ignition if you wanna glow your car up. This is the cheapest way i have found without buying any other parts

Hey mate, i have 2 interior neons, 2 LED window washers and 8 underglow LED's on my luxxy.. I've wired them all into the cig lighter.. Just pull the dash part that the cig lighter is in off and hard wire them into the positive wire the centre wire in the back of the cig wire and run the wire to a switch which u can buy from any auto-motive super store then drill the switch into those little rectangle switch holders in the dash near the steering wheel then run the wire off the other side of the terminal on the switch and run it to the positive of the under glow then u can just ground the negative wire to a good bare steel (no paint work) screw or bold which is holding ur chassis together..

This is pretty basic here's a wiring diagram that my underglows are using..

Wiring it into ur cig lighter is good because u can drive around at night with it on and when u turn ur car off it automatically turns off cause it doesnt have power

Another great wire to tap into for ur positive is your headlights cause if the switch is on then they will automatically only turn on when ur lights r turned on and will turn off when they are turned off.. All up to ur preference tho

Hahaha I love the diagram!

Nice. :P

Yeah i got out yesterday and put it to the Cig lighter.

Works well. Works just how i want it.

THanks.

But as i did it I did something and now my parkers arent working prop now.

At the start I wired it to my parkers and yeah dunno what happen.

HeadLights and brakes work, Hazards do. Just no idicators or parkers, no dash. :(

man neons add like... 5hp per foot of tubing

...i hope you allowed some kind of fuse for the neons

i see alot of people doing it in QLD due to the new driving laws so they cant get much HP out of their car. So they do what i do, audio system and pretty lights. and yes you might need a fuse just in case, 4 amp should do, 1 would blow too quickly. but i dont think if you hook it through the cigarette lighter you dont need a fuse cause of the inbuilt one.
