Accidently 'reported' my reply to this thread instead of 'quoting it'. If one of the mods gets a reported message from me is it possible to post it in this thread...cheers

Yeah dude window tinting is outsourced.

I think if you get it done be the dealer, if there is any problems with it then the dealership can chase it up for you. :)

Yeah they outsource almost everything. The alarms are also outsourced.

The only thing they do for themselves is servicing and mechanical.

The paint is done by an outsourced panel beater.

I got mine by Solartint, $250 because my GF and I got both our cars done together :). We are gonna get a bargain on our stereos by doing the same thing :).

Rust proofing now theres another 1 of those yard rorts... :P Have a look at the fine print of your warranty I think you will find that Toyota puts a 5 year perforation warranty on all their new cars.. Something the dealship will never tell you.. The perforation warranty is .. Yes you guest it .. Warranty against visible rusting of the paint surface etc... Further to that.. Why would you get rust proofing on your car when part of the construction process is galvanising of the metals.. Ne ways food for thought once again... ;)

I guess Rust Proofing is important....

IF you live by the beach B)

if you intend keeping you car longer than 5 years I guess so.. ;)

i am planning to keep the car longer than 5 years...

but they didn't do my protection pack right..and i didn't get the rust proofing..

now they're saying that they're going to have to charge me for it....:angry::angry:

Anyways...i got the leather, paint, gold, sound deadner for $750.

Tint was free. i got it at 35% rating or what ever.

Oh, and yes..i got the car...FINALLY! :D

gold paint protection (suppose to be better than normal protection)

sound deadner...this sticky black tar that goes on the underside.....reduces road noise and stuff like that...

xTigerx, welcome to the club etc.

They say 2000k in the manual, most people 'round these parts couldn't wait that long to give it a couple of runs :).

Some run-in theorists suggest giving the car a bit of varied load anyway, as long as you're not fully flogging it.

Posted

I couldn;t wait that long!!!

I started ripping it at 1000km.

I also ripped it as soon as i got out of the dealership.

Don;t know if it did any damage though.

I would say at least 1000km until it runs in. That's my opinion. ;)

Posted

i only waited 500kms and its been reved hard since then. The dealer told me 1000kms would be a good enough run in

Posted

I gave mine a variety, laboured it at 40KMH uphill in 6th a couple of times, gave it a bit of a freeway drive, hit redline a few times, pretty much gave it a taste of everything it could ever be asked to do now it runs like a dream, not one issue :)

Posted

ive done 3000km and i havent hit redline as yet. Ive hit about 7200 or 7500 rpm and thats it

Posted

Did anyone other than me freak out the first time they redlined? It just all seemed wrong, cars are not meant to rev that high, im used to it now though LOL

Posted

Hey Tiger, Lander charged me $390 for window tinting 35% black. Did I get ripped off in your opinion? :o  :( ;):unsure::blink:

Posted

yeh, you got ripped off man! i can get you any type of tint you want, reflective or black, for $170-$200.

i got my tint from the dealer for $190.

LANDER IS A RIP OFF! <_<

Posted

Posted
