A 25 minute drive

DJKOR

Recommended Posts

Well I was working on mounting my camera in the car and found a neat way to mount it so it is relatively stable. I got a bit bored and though of trying something out. I had to drive to Manheim Fowles yesterday and through I would give it a shot. The end result wasn't quite how I wanted it, but nevertheless:

A passenger side view of a 25 minute drive.... in under five minutes:

P.S. Eugene, at 4:12 was where I passed by you as per the Spotted thread.

i hope you were not going too fast on that freeway Daryl. :whistling:
LOL :P im sure he was driving at the speed limit .................................. NOT! LOL

I was. I promise. Just all those people around me going under the limit that make me look fast :whistling:

I LOVE IT. certaintly kept me entertained for 5 mins even though its so simple...great choice of music too.........i wanna do this now.lol

Yeah. Finding the right song took a little bit of listening. Needed something that works with the type of video so it won't bore you out too much.

Thanks for the tips mate. Yeah, I really suck when it comes to anything involving a camera. I just have a point and shoot camera and time to waste. Ideally I wanted to mount a camera outside on the bonnet or roof, but didn't have many options there.

If I get my hands on some decent equipment though I'll definitely remember that.

4.77 times or there abouts. It was sped up to fit within the length of the song. So some cases look like I'm going just under 600km/h

The drive seems quite long even when looking at it quickly. Yet you don't really realise it on the road.

did you just squish it in between the head rest and the seat??

I tried that at first but it didn't sit how I wanted cause of the design of my headrest. I got a little creative with my limited resources. Just a cheap compact tripod and a jockey strap. The strap pulls down and forwards which keeps all three legs firmly planted on the ground so the camera didn't shake around (too much):

mental note to self

if you see car with camera in it, overtake the bugger up the inside so then he has to reshoot the entire video again

scared me a bit thinking ppl from forest lake could get into town so fast, like to think they are sufficiently isolated from the rest of the popluation of brisbane, so good to hear it's on warp speed.

Nice video DJKOR!

lol, honestly i thought it was going to be speeding through your daily drive to work or something but this is just as good.

have you made a time lapse of the city or sky yet.

you can never get sick of them.

new project for you DJKOR, :g:

If your attending the TOCAU national meet for NSW, see if you can make one for that.

Will hopefully have an external camera mount by then. Will experiment since I will be going.

Im curious as to how you actually did it? like what software or just in windows movie maker?

Had to use Adobe Premiere. It allows you to define the length you want the video to go for and then change the audio track. It took a whole 3 hours to encode the video file for that short clip. Not the best PC I have here.

How crap is the road out the front of the Auction Place...

Crap enough that the speed bump at the end was so well hidden that I slammed on my braked and slipped a little.

Ignore the massive bass distortion:
