In Theory:

i would buy this car and put the turbo kit onto my car ;)

twin-charged 1zz FTW!

BTW: i wouldn't really :P (but a twin-charged 1zz would be alot of fun ;))

does anyone know approx. how much a setup like this would cost?????

It says: MODIFIED WITH A BALL BEARING GARRET TURBO, FRONT MOUNT INTER-COOLER, EMS COMPUTER, BLOW OFF VALVE,2 EXTRA INJECTORS, TURBO BACK EXHAUST,FRONT MOUNT OIL COOLER.

Doesnt seem to metion anything about heavier duty internals......Does this mean you can run a turbo without touching the internals???????

Of course you can turbo a 1zz with stock internals... Pippy's daily driven levin has been running forced induction for the last few years, and been turbocharged for the past 12 months: http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...showtopic=18153

As for costs to do the same to your car, like the ebay one...

BALL BEARING GARRET TURBO & custom Steampipe manifold - $2K

FRONT MOUNT INTER-COOLER & Cooler pipework - $700

EMS COMPUTER, install and tuning - 1800 (EMS Stinger can't do closed-loop vvti control, so would need to be piggybacked to the factory ECU)

BLOW OFF VALVE - $50 for a Bosch, $200 for a Ricer version

2 EXTRA INJECTORS - $160

TURBO BACK EXHAUST - $1100

FRONT MOUNT OIL COOLER $300

Then there's a lot of little stuff like the fittings for the watercooling of the turbo, turbo oil feed line and return to sump, heatshields, etc etc etc.

I'd personally not bother with 2 extra injectors and just run some appropriately sized main injectors with the aftermarket ECU. Twincharging is a massive waste of time too, turbocharging alone with a properly matched turbo achieves much better results.

Couldn't have said it better myself, if you can do the work yourself and know where to look you can shave a couple of hundred off that.

Fixed, but explain properly though? For a complete forged engine, decent ECU, custom plenum, etc you could be looking at well over $10k.

For those of us with limited budgets it can be done for a lot cheaper.

Ie. Manifold - $600

T28 - $400

Exhaust - $1000

Adaptronic - ~$2000 fitted and installed

2nd hand cooler + piping - $400

Assorted bits and pieces - $400

There you go, less than $5k if you can do the work yourself.

and then you double it for a final figure ;)
