Rattle in the hatch from sub

suped

Recommended Posts

Whenever I use my sub (12" Alpine Type-S) these days, there is a rattling noise heard outside at the back.

I took the number plate off and there's still a rattle..

Does anyone know of a fix? The system sounds mean inside but I look foolish from the outside.

Cheers.

hi mate,

simply put that is the characteristic of pumping out a whole heap of base from the boot.... Its just simply physics....... Base causes a force ..... ur panels are all firmly fixed thus they vibrate causing ur noise......

I've really only seen this fixed in a few cars where they sound proofed and gap proofed all the gaps between the panels and interior in the boot so the panels where like solid objects and not hollow to cause ur vibrations .....

Take off the trims, and fit some Dynamat. Its a sound deadening device that sticks to the inside of the panels and available from any decent audio store!

Thanks everyone for your replies, I will most likely end up getting some sound deadening.

Yeah, is there any sane way to tighten the windscreen wiper? Maybe if I take te trim off from the inside of the hatch...?

hehe unfortunately, i don't know of any myself... but i know someone who just squeezes in a piece of foam or something in between the wiper and the windscreen? it worked for them hehe, good luck :D
