Different Mufflers

Recommended Posts

Hey guys...

Not happy with my current muffler..

Its an Xforce with a 4"tip... sounds friggen awesome outside the car (no farting).. Drones like a whiny bitch inside the car.. (silencer open)

Atm i have the silencer closed so its fine inside the car.. but farts while engine breaking :( cant stand that noise...

Do you think a Magnaflow with Dual smaller tips.. say 3" or 2.25" would be a little quieter?

I drove an astra coupe the other day with a dual tip remus muffler and it sounded friggen awesome without the annoying cabin drone..

ideas?

Thanks in advance

cant' compare with astras. most of the silencing is done in the resonator rather than the muffler. their resonator weighs a tonne.

the magnaflow still drones a bit

I'm happy with my Remus, but for less than what I paid for rear muffler and flange alone, Danz got a very good full custom Job done (Extractors inc) and it sounds quite similar and performs better.

Just shop around and do the research.

yes the twin loop muffler is awesome .. its pretty quiet as it feeds through twice but doesnt restrict airflow like having two or more in a row.

My mate has a twin loop onhis turbo prelude and its the goods :D

i hate loud exhausts at low revs!

Nah .. the exhaust outlet will need to be the same size as muffler inlet ... so they can join up

need to get exhaust and muffler in one go ..

or just change ur muffler

If ur broke then save up or go for a cheaper option
