Hello guys,

i have just recently fueled my Kluger Grande for the third time. When i purchased the car, i got a full tank of fuel and since then i have fueled my car twice....Just recently i filled 64l of fuel and when i clicked on the reset button (DISP) , the message was 468km cruising range.....Surely that cant be right???I should have lot more cruising range than 468km?????i've got both my fuel receipts and as soon as i get some time i am gonna work out the l/100km average myself...........Busy with Father duties!

Just before i fueled my car for the first time , the cruising range was below 20km. So obviously i thought i had bugger all fuel left in the car but a full tank of fuel took only 62l. So really i had another 10l left in the car. Now i do know that the display screen wont let me drive the car until my last drop on fuel but surely with 10l still left in the car the average p/100km shown has to be wrong.....Hope i am not confusing you guys???

Would like to know what you guys think about the above message....I know it will never give me a perfect reading (i am assuming) but i think the Kluger cruising range is miles of target ay??????

cheers

This is for the Aurion, but the same pretty much applies to you... maybe with some slightly different amounts:

I actually asked a similar question to this before:

And the Corolla guys asked as well:

After many, many more tanks of fuel and others claims to back it up as well, we have found that once the gauge needle is on empty and the 'Cruising Range' says '0km', you have about 10 litres left in the tank and can travel roughly another 70-80km. I find my fuel light comes on when my cruising range drops to about 30km or so and/or when the gauge needle reaches about 1/8.

As well, more on the topic here:

500KM out of a full to the brim tank?

To think about it more visually as to why it probably can't register the last 10 litres or so, imagine this. You get a bucket with 5 litres of water in it. Now add another 5 litres. It's quite easy to see the difference in the level. Now get 5 litres of water and pour it into your bathtub. Then add another 5 litres to it. It's not so easy to gauge the difference is it?

The computer should be able to be more accurate than what it is. The book says that the fuel light comes on at 8.3 litres approximately. When my light came on in my KX-S yesterday, it showed a cruising range of less than 30km. If the car knows the light just came on, surely it can use the 8.3l and the average consumption figures to give a more realistic figure. I drove yesterday to the server and pulled in with 2km cruising range and squeezed 62l in, meaning I had approximately 10lt left. It's all bit weird. Are other makes more accurate with this?

My two 1993 Camry's along with my Aurion have 10 litres in the tank when the fuel light comes on, Toyota have been doing this for years. I kind of like it because you start to worry you will run out of fuel, however, never do.

So with full tank, and cruising using 8.1 how is it I still cannot get 600 kms out of a tank of fuel. The best range I have ever had is 555, but if you a getting sub 10's should you not be able to travel 700kms on a tank

It just does not seem to work. tried it lots of times,
