Can't feel lift kick in...

Recommended Posts

I've found that as I get closer to the next 5k oil change interval that the stivo becomes somewhat sluggish... I've always used the toyota recommended engine oils.

Today when I revved into lift zone, I couldn't feel the kick that I use to feel and I'm certain that it's the engine oil getting older.

Does anyone else notice this ?

If our engine oils don't last for more than 5K intervals how is that VW golfs 1st service intervals are at 15k.

theres a few reasons that can affect the 'feelin' of lift kicking in such as....low on fuel....car load of ppl......really hot day....n so on.....

dunno if u guys notice but ....i find when the temp is really cold or cool (weather wise) that lift is alot more 'aggressive' n u tend to 'feel' it more

i agree on that on, hit lift on the way from uni and back from uni once or twice and at night it felt so much stronger

Agree on all the above, and on cold nights its easy to spin up the tyres in 1st, 2nd and sometimes even 3rd gear when you hit LIFT (note colder tyres too hence less grip).

Also i think there is 1 more factor and that is "Conditioning". We all get accustomed to things and this "Conditioning" to the G-Force is normal if you drive the car hard enough often enough.
