CH-R sudden engine failure
Just to give an update and provide information to all those CHR owners who are experiencing issues with the Carbon build up issue that the CHR cars have- after a long and lengthy battle with Toyota I finally won on warranty terms and received a full refund for my car. Fortunately, I have a BP card which I use for all my fuel purchases so I was able to provide evidence of only using good quality fuels and all my servicing records were up to date. As per the advice I received from consumer affairs this is a design fault. Carbon buildup in a motor in such short period of time is not a normal or expected condition for a car and therefore is deemed to be a design fault. Under warranty laws unless the provider of the product can provide a long term fix- at NO COST to the consumer, then the consumer is entitled to either a replacement product or a refund. As consumer affairs explained to me- if you bought a TV and due to a wiring issue it shut down on occasion then you would be entitled to a replacement or a refund- no different just because the dollar value of the item shutting down is higher than a TV dollar value. In addition to this is the fact that the carbon build up causes the car to shut down which is deemed to be a safety issue and this should be a safety recall. Toyota did a recall for faulty towbars for safety- but they don't see an issue that causes a car to shut down mid traffic as a safety issue.....?? At present Toyota's fix to the problem is to issue an internal bulletin to all Toyota dealerships servicing departments stating that all CHR's need to have a full engine clean conducted as part of the car's servicing. Carbon build up in a car is NOT NORMAL and should not fall under general servicing. This is a fault and a problem with the motor design. The cost of this additional engine clean will be at the car owners expense and as per warranty laws this is not satisfactory. Also if any other CHR owners are travelling high kms such as myself, a clean at the time of servicing may not be satisfactory timeframe for removing the carbon build up. At the 80,000km + mark my car was requiring an engine clean before i had travelled 10,000kms to remove the carbon build up. Toyota provided me with the attached Guest Information notice - this is a joke. My car was not simply mis-firing it was stalling and shutting down. The carbon build up is also not temporary - it is continual due to the engine design. And apparently a CHR needs to be warmed up like an old car and not accelerated hard ? 2Door 1975 KE30 Corolla 4Sale
Looking to see what offers are made for my 2Door 1975 KE30 Corolla The car has been sitting in the garage for quite a few years now as I planned to have it restored. Unfortunately, I have not gotten around to it and am now considering selling if I receive a reasonable offer. The photos in this ad are old however the condition of the car is still similar to the photos. There is a couple of rust spots that need attention and a dent to the body that can all be resolved with the know-how. All in all condition of the car is really quite good. The engine was running great and did not have any issues when I was driving it a few years ago but it has sat around for a few years now. The car has always been reliable and great to drive. This was my first car and I have no strong desire to sell, if the right offer came along I would consider selling due to needing the money for other things. I would like to pass this rare Corolla on to someone with the passion to restore it. You do not see 2 door KE30s around anymore and I don't know if there are any more of these left in SA (it might be the only 1975 KE30 left in Aus). -

Low Fuel Warning Light Flashing
Hi guys,I have 2 solutions to this problem, Me : I have an early 2015 VDJ200 and I got the "Fuel system error" come up on the dash, my fix was, 1. Checked the relay for the Jet Pump in the main tank, found that the relay was not getting the earth signal from the ECU (for whatever reason). This stops the subtank from emptying into the main tank. I earthed out the relay and now the Jet pump runs as soon as you start the engine, 3yrs later and still going strong, no fault codes, all that is different is that you can hear the pump run when turning on the ignition. 2. Second possible cause (as written up in the now defunct lcool.org) The wiring on top off the fuel pump lid (connector) can melt and cause a high resistance thus stopping the pump from operating and therefore causing the subtank not emptying into the main tank. I hope this helps everyone who has this fault. Please note this applies ONLY to the Turbo Diesel V8 Cheers, Paul -

How many kms is too many 2014 150 series
Hi We have 2014 Prado 150 series diesel which has done 304K kms. Serviced regularly. Timing belt done at 300K. Wanting to give to relative but don’t want issues for her. Is that number if kms going to be an issue. Or do you know of anything else which could be. Dianne TCB -

79 series randomly dies under power
Most likely culprit would be an intermittant Suction Control Valve on the HP Pump. I also wouldnt rule out some FOD in the Tank...Like a piece of plastic floating around in the tank and blocking the pick up -

2019 LC76 4.5 V8 Injector issues
Bailey's Injector group..They DLC more than just the shaft like the stock Denso injectors. Run a 2 or 5 Micron Secondary Fuel Filter. This will make the Injectors last well over 400K if you change both the Filters regularly. Be very very careful when reading + injector values.. More times than not the ECU is compensating for a lazy Pot If the Engine has no EGR delete then the Intake will need cleaning, and normally it's Pot 4 that suffer first due to a less than tuned intake and the preferred intake airflow path -

1VD - Ticking Noise
Cracked Rocker..Its been known to happen. Inspect the Roller Rocker arms. This Valve Train has a roller rocker Hyd. lash adjusters..If it ticks then it's either a cracked rocker arm or less likely a buggered seal in the lash adjuster -

LC 300 Engine Maintenance Required
More likely the dealer has not cleared the Maintenance when done. I assume you have already had at least 1 service?
