Hi, i am new here! and just got my corolla about a month ago :D

I took my car and went to tuners garage and i found out something... They told me the car have different chasis then the corolla in Japan nor the older version of the corolla. This leads me to a no where to get a compatible parts for my car.

So i went on9 to findout more about my cars and the rest of corolla. My car appears to be built on chassis ZZE123R. Which is the latest body on the market, currently there are company trying to make parts on the car.

There are older version of the corolla chassis which have a hips of aftermarket parts, chassis like ZZE12#, ZZE121, ZZE122, ZZE123, and i recently found out ZZE123G. The 1st europe corolla was built on ZZE121 at 2001(i think).

I am here to seek more info about these chassis and want to know how far can i go with the corolla i've just got...

Thanks. B)

Here is something interesting to find out where your car are made and the buit infor with your vehecle's VIN. http://www.analogx.com/contents/vinview.htm

Australia has

ZZE122 ( Ascent/Conquest/Levin/Ultima)

ZZE123 ( Sportivo )

The others are overseas variants of the ZZ model, still esentially the same car with minor differences such as diffent lights/bumpers etc

I also want to know what is the different about ZZE123 and ZZE123R. What is defferent about this 2 chassis and what are thier characteristics?

Is ZZE123R built has special mount for ZZ2-GE engine? Coz on the japanese parts web site, they seems to have parts for ZZE123 and rarely have parts for ZZE123R.

This is the main concern if I want to modd the car.

Btw, do u know that Aust corolla hatch are made in Africa? but Corolla Altima are made in Japan, that's why thier parts are slightly different. For eg, go look at your Corolla manual guide. See the DIY section for car light bulbs.

thanks:)

Anyone got sugestion for that suspension to install? I was thinking of changing it...

Depends on how you want your car to be.

Actually not all of the corollas are jap built .. some have south african parts such as the trim - the dealer was showing me the diff when i was in showroom and said the jap model parts are better quality.

I was thinking to have street performance suspension, not too low or too high. Just right for bumps.

Thinking of changing whole sus, not only coil.

Eibach springs are fantastic, if a bit pricey - about 1.5 and 1.75 inch drop (front and rear respectively).

I haven't changed my shocks but others here will have comments..

Also, I thought the ZZE123R was a minor update that occurred sometime in 2003.

Look, your car is no different to other '05 Sportivos.

The Katashiki (model-version) for your car is ZZE123R-GHFQFQ and it's country of origin is South Africa.

The End. :P

Yeap, i knew that. What do you expect when u just get a new car? Turbo Charge on 1st 500km?

Are you replying to me?

When buying chassis parts, model code ZZE12# should suit your car fine.

Hahaha, i tought your talkin about my car lol. But you sure they are compatible? I heard dealer said thier built is different. He said there are one ppl actually tried TRD springs on last years Spotivo. Ended up the car become unbalanced and over short(Coil cannot stands the different Damper).

Just to take precaution, dun want to waste the money.

I can understand your concerns buddy, and I think your previous comment was because you misunderstood my comment. I wasn't saying that you suck because your car is stock (as mine is), what I meant was that your car should not give you difficulties finding parts because it is alike most other Sportivo's.

Having a look at the TRD parts lists from http://www.trdparts.jp it shows suspension parts suiting ZZE-12#.

The reason I'm pretty sure ZZE-12# parts will fit is because here at Toyota when I use the Partsfinder software to look up parts for my car, the Stivo is listed as a ZZE-12# model code.

It's up to you whether you want to chance fitment issues. Perhaps search for people fitting those specific parts to your specific vehicle.

I just meant before, that your car isn't some random rare breed, and hopefully you should be able to find parts ok.
