a quick quesiton

has anyone used nolathane bushes as i plan to purchase them for the rear of my sportivo rather than ordering energy suspension ones from overseas.

about $70 from aus vs about $150 shipped from overseas

is this the right part? kit looks different compared to energy suspension

nolathane 46290:

I can't tell you about those bushings specifically but I asked my mechanic about whether it's worth getting some Nolathane bushings and he said that they're nothing special and very much doubts that any benefit would be noticeable from the driver's seat. As I said, I haven't tried them but was gonna give em a go on my 03 Stivo before some ***** smashed into it when parked out front of a mate's place and it got written off. My mechanic mate has had his own dyno tuning workshop for over 15 years (still there and business seems to be going well, he must be doing something right?), so I value his opinion very highly.

Just my $0.02, hope it helps. Or did you end up getting them, if so, any noticeable improvements in ride or handling performance?

Nolathane are decent quality, can be noisy if not greased correctly. This is common with polyurethane bushings.

i read the other thread in suspension where people noticed a bit of a difference.

i did end up getting them but the nolathane brand were not the correct part(46290), so i didnt install the rear axle poly bushes.

i did however install a new torsion beam and a set of bc coilovers which improved handling a lot

Hmmm... interesting. I'm looking at various coilovers and don't know which of the cheaper brands I'm gonna go with (unfortunately can't afford much more than $1500ish including installation and wheel alignment). If you're saying the BC are good, might with them. Do they have the adjustable camber up front and did you go for the metal or rubber pillow ball if they have that option?

When you say you got a new torsion beam, is that what most people call the rear anti-roll bar? If so, did you get the Whiteline part or some other brand?

yeah the bc are fine for street use, cant comment on track use though.

I got the bc rm model which you can read the specs on here http://www.bc-racing.com.au/bc-racing-coilover-suspension-kit-toyota-corolla-zze123r-zze130-nze121-01-07-c-02-ma.html

I meant I replaced my actual axle beam which connects to the rear hubs not the sway bar. people tend to get either whiteline or ultra racing
