Hey all,

been a while since i've posted - but thought i'd share.

Had a fairly rough day yesterday - and went for a beer with my brother,

sitting inside playing ps2 and having a can....

get a knock at the window...

"hey man is that your rolla outside?"

"yeah....why...?"

"er ... you better come look I backed into it"

I'm hoping it's only panel damage to the fender and the bumper.

Toyota have already told me the fender will cost $350.10 unfitted and unpainted....

didnt ask about the bumper.

Getting it looked at tonight to find out if there's any other damage...

*shrug* insurance + I know the guy that backed into it - so no dramas getting it sorted.

Just thought i'd share.

geez how fast was he reversing? dude thats terrible but hey these things happen at least its not your fault!!

i'd be checking the chassis rail to see if it hasnt been pushed in slightly as well... not to much of a problem it can just be panelbeated!!

but thats bad luck man these things always happen on the worst days!

What a honest man! You are lucky. ;) Hate those "hit and run" ppl...

i have to agree, too many ppl these days just get out of there and leave you to flip the bill.

so yeah, you're very lucky!!

Considering he reveresed out of my brothers place and is a family friend ;)

But yeah glad that it was him and not some other random in a car park or something.

Yeah i'll get the chasis checked out tonight as well - it's getting the full checkup so why not...

*shrug* and yes you where right Micky -> it was the perfect ending for a very ****ed up day.

is that the price for an original part?

Corza the $350.10 that toyota qouted was for an original toyota panel.

I got the qoute today from the FIRST crash repairer.....

$1500 - $1800 damage.

Apparently these corollas are notorious for breaking head lights down under the guard / bumper....

so they need to assess that later....

*shrug*

I'll be getting another quote later today - because i think that's a bit high...(but *shrug* again not like i would really know)

paradox667 ok cool!

bro hope it gets sorted!

Remember you want a top job with quality parts .

By the looks of the damage I would say the headlight would still be ok where it mounts underneath the bumper bar...

Just make sure the door hasn't been hitting the guard and chipping the paint away...

how did he manage to not get a scratch on your wheel, but still rip up that panel?

i agree

but how lucky(if you could call it luck) are you that he just missed the headlight.

oh and the bonet was close aswell.

but yeah dont always assume the cheapest is best

get it done right and it should be good.

ive seen many cars come out of dodgy workshops with panels not lining up properly and paint

not matching up. paying the few extra dollars now will save ya the hassle in the end.
