MELB mEEt!! - Late AuG: N.E.S.W gathering

why do i get the feeling that its not gonna happen because everyone wants to do somthing different. can ya just have a meetup and anyone who wants to go for a cruise can go from there. if ya put to much bull**** into it barley anyone will show cause theres to many meeting points and times and stuff.

im up for a meet but depending whats going on at the time and if im in the mood i dunno about a cruise.

why not just have a meet to get everyone there. and if all goes well im sure there will be plenty of meets/cruises in the weeks after.

after all we are coming into the good weather.

i dont know if its just me but, i get put right off when theres a mention of one meet/cruise and the there ends up being eastside/westside bull**** and nothing gets completely finalisd until the day of the meet. so alot of the time i dont end up going because i like to have a rough idea of whats going on and this **** happens every single time. and people wonder why theres never a good turnout.

You think it's easy trying to organise a meet/cruise? If we want a regular meet up, then we have to start somewhere and see what works best.

So far the plan sounds good. Can probably ditch the CBD meet location so the West guys can just cruise straight to the East meet point to save time.

Seriously, don't mock people for trying to organise something. If you don't like what's happening, then don't put people down for trying to make something happen. Better yet, just don't come like you said.

Doesn't matter if there is a good turnout or not as a big turnout doesn't necessarily mean a better meet. As long as the people who turn up have a great time, that's all that matters.

It was about time someone started something again in Melbourne so props to oVo sparking something.

I really don't know what to say in regards to all you that have pulled out! BUT I do know one thing I'll be at McDonalds Ring Rd City bound at 12:30pm this Sunday, and I'll drive up on my own if I have to.

im not bagging anyone for organising a meet in fact i think its great thats someones making the effort.

what ****s me is he tried to organise a meet but everyone wants it there way or they wont show, hence differnt meeting points times days.

all i was saying is pick a day time place and people will either show or not. its that easy.

syd and queensland seem to meet same place all the time.

why not just have one week on the eastside and the next week on the west.

see which is the better turnout and use same place everytime.

or find somewhere in between east and west.

im on the west but i havnt got any probs with traveling to the east.

Brandon you can figure something out for a meet I'm sure. May as well unveil plans that Brandon and myself have to for the future while I'm here. A NSW/ACT/VIC meet. A huuuuuuuge meet (and mean HOOOOOOGE).

Trying to organise something from 3 states looks a bit daunting, esp. when it comes to a meeting place and accomodation etc. I'm sure we can figure something out. Once again, this is going to be a long way off as it needs immense planning, but thought I'd establish interest here.

lolz i've done heaps of orgn n plannin for events catering for like 100 - 500pplz n yes it can get very messy. But i like to hear what people have to say because its great to know ur team, whether it may suit your own personality or not.

Seeing as that i don't have the technical no-how on cars as deep as the rest of TOCA does i decided to do my bit by organising a meet as way of saying yea i don't just take...i give too. Organising is not hard to do...it just take patience, understanding, tolerance and support for diff attitudes and personalities.

I decided to structure the meet N.E.S.W cause seein as this was my first one i thought that was the best way to go about it. Yes we originally had a central meeting point suggested by 1ZZ-FE, but unfortunately that didn't fit. Yes we all live on the opposites sides of town, Yes petrol is very pricy n yes pplz do have work the next day. There has to be a middle way somewhere...and that middle way for me was to get the ball rolling on having a meet in the first place then figuring out a schedule for our next meets eg as has been suggested this month east, next month west etc etc...Look, i know that not everyone will be able to make it...and that's coolz...but this is not the end all n be all of Melb meets.

From my readings on the forums it seems that yes u guys from the west catchup together more so than us eastsiders so i thought why not get the westsiders to give the east-siders one hell of an impression as well as how about a change of scenery, with fellow rolla enthusiasts who know places to go on the eastside. Of course the next cruise will be vice versa. i saw a few months back...not sure if it went through though...but there was a GOR cruise organised. That'd be sweet!! BUT...some of us haven't become acquainted as closely in order to be openly willing to go the distance, if u get what i mean. Start small...bit by bit n cha ching who knows man we could have close to 3 dozen rollas on a cruise by the end of the year!!
