LEVIN ISSUES

Hey everyone,

I'm keen to find out if there any known issues with the Levin. (eg) it has a different box to the stivo so does that mean the issues that i'm hearing about the box in the stivo won't affect the box in the levin?

There are no know issues liek that of the stivo with the 05 levin.

The 5 speed is very forgiving unlike the sportivo clutch and gearbox.

The only problem with the 05 is that its ust not as quick as the 02 - 04 :P

No actually he isnt joking cos if your car was built in October 2005 or later then its engine was detuned from 100Kw and 171Nm to 93kW and 161Nm in order to meet the stringent Euro IV gas emissions restrictions.

the third fastest time on here by 1zz behind me is a 05 model.

But in sayign that i have run 7 times quicker then him. :P

where abouts ar eu from?? will u be racing in that downhill melb track or the real deal up here at WSID :P

So far no issue on my 05 Accent...1ZZ is well build.

Theoretically accent should be quicker than Levins.

Simply because less weight. No ABS, No Driver Air bag, No body kit.

But actual results have shown otherwise. The Levin owners seem to be quicker.

So I'd say it must come down to the driver.

im from sydney. what kinda 'rolla is yours dude? and where you from? would like to see that thing in the flesh if you're a sydneysider. i'm also sfter a pair of black TRD car seat covers. Know where I can get some???

Haven't had any issues with my Levin so far. It's kind of annoying in a way because I can't think of anything to say on service days when they ask me if anything is wrong with the car

Which book are you reading from? Just check your build/compliance plate or whatever its called (on the passenger side of your firewall underneath the bonnet) and if it sais October 2005 (or any other later models) then its detuned. But as SyxXPaC said its only a matter of changing the intake and exhaust. This is beacause for the detune they only changed the throttle system (to an electric system) and the catalytic converter. Sorry to steer right of topic but what is the difference between how the throttle systems work I'm assuming the new electronic one operates through electronically calculating the movement of the accelerator and transfering this to the throttlebody but how do the old systems work? Is it hydrolic?

hahaha bill i wont be surprised if mintos cracks it when u has done his susoentions mods and good tyres.

If mintos does a 2.3 60ft like i did he gets a 15.4 without a doubt. Check the records page mate :P
