I seems a few of us have just or are in the process of getting the 12 month service, so I'm tracking down the lucky owner of the first delivered Stivo in Oz...

Mine was delivered 16 July '03... Any takers...

The oldest Corolla Sportivo would be the last shape, turbocharged 1zz-fe, limited edition in Tuscan Gold. Only 500 made and sold in Oz.

There's one in my neighbourhood, but I don't know who owns it.

shaohaok is correct,

The AE112R sportivo was only produced in limited numbers as Oz said, from march 2001. But It had the 1.8 7AFTE which produced max power of 115kW @ 5600rpm and max torque of 237Nm @ 3600rpm. Just going on what i have heard these figures may have been overstated (wouldn't be the first time <_< )

The current ZZ12# corolla's are the first corolla's to go away from the A series engine since the AE71 in 1983.

Here are a couple of links to Toymods that explain the codes ect...

Model Codes

Engine Codes

Eg.

ZZ122R Corolla has a 1ZZ-FE

ZZ123R (Spotrivo) Corolla has a 2ZZ-GE

AE92 Corolla has a 4A-FE, 4A-FC (depending on grade)

AE93 (SX or GTI) Corolla has a 4A-GE

AE102R Corolla has a 7A-FE

AE112R Corolla has a 7A-FE or 7A-FTE (sportivo)

It seems that toyota denotes the "sports" model with the 3 as the last digit.....

They're very torque'y he could put it in 3rd and rip it up.

They lack heaps top end... they only rev out to like 6000 or something I THINK? ill look next time im in there. they die just as the newer sportivo gets its new lease of life and powers on :P

they're pretty quick but, they have an IHI turbo too... size of my nuts. LOL

uhm really off the mark, given the amount of wheel spin they dont go the best. on a good start they'd be infront but over the 1/4 u'd run them down easy! as i have done on many many occasions!

shocking sound to them, the standard exhaust sounds like a vacuum cleaner, think the exhaust sucks more air then the turbo! lol

awesome handling but, put my sportivo to shame!

yeah, hence the reason why the Sportivo AE112 wasn't popular and didn't last long at all. The fact that it was in the same price bracket as the WRX and the S15... which would you rather get?

Plenty of torque though, and as mentioned, the turbo is pissweak. When I turbocharge my 7A-FE, I think I'll be using a GT25, something marginally bigger than the one that came stock!

Here's an interesting point - I asked Toyota about the cost of the turbo manifold and turbo, as it would mean I wouldn't have to get custom made. They wanted $2400 for the manifold, and fken $6000 for the turbo. I'll go custom, thanks

And you're right, redline is only 6000rpm. Not much for a turbo car, but remember, it's basically a plain old NA with a very small and inefficient turbo setup.
