My mum spotted on the side of my car a massive key mark all the way from one side to the other!

I swear some people are real sad . i didnt even do anything to deserve this :( makes me cry

Anyone know how if the touch up paint (that toyota provided) will fix this? the key mark isnt that deep, but still noticeable.

happened to a friend of mine with a black conquest unfortunately deep enough until a white layer showed through.

this happened at kensington maccas ... where did yours happen?

tried the touch up paint but made it look abit better but still noticeable

try a polish if u say it isn't that deep

touch up paint is really for stone chips and using it for lines would be a mess. you would cover the damage but it will still be noticeable because of the touch up. respray is the way to get it back to new.

People like that make me sick... If I caught someone doing that to my car... Lets just say an eye for an eye... scratch for a scratch...

if its not that deep try a good cut and polish it usually does the job

sorry to hear about the damage. i honestly wonder what drives people to damage another person's belongings, is it jealousy?

or show off in front of their mates/gf that they have balls to do it, but deep inside they're jealous, sick people

i believe it would usually be the case that the scratcher just doesnt give a ***** about what they do to anyone elses sh!t. if it was someone you knew that did it then it would be something outta jealousy or some sort of revenge

what i meant by jealousy was that whoever keyed the car thought to themselves "im a poor c**t so i'll scratch this nice car because i will never be able to afford one"

I'll second scratch x as well!!!

Scratch X is indeed the solution to fixing key marks on cars. In your case you will need 2 tubes. 1 tube for the car and the 2nd for when you find the person, have them pinned down, and have them swallow the entire contents of the tube. You then laugh as they are taken to the hospital to have their stomach pumped.

yeah u can find it in supercheap, autobarn,even k mart, look out for some turtle wax thingy, the one with colour, cant remember the name, its got black, blue and etc, its got some form of paint in it i think, last time i used it everything became black, my cloth, hands, everything, it help masks scratches, stone chips and snarls and deepend the colour of your car, and it comes with a stick(looks like a lip stick), maybe use this after scratch x?

      New to Toyota - 2005 Corolla Sportivo!

      Long time no update. In all honesty, not an awful lot to update on. Life has been super busy and inbetween life, I get a chance here and there to clean the beast and also arrange for the usual 5000 km oil change. The car is showing it's age with more noticeable paint fade on the roof. After some time I've decided to order the parts to fix my slow power steering leak. After receiving the quote from Toyota, I was able to get the parts from overseas for not even a 1/3 of the cost it would've cost me to order here. The parts are due here in 2-3 weeks and I'm thinking of getting this done with the major service which will be due later this year at some point seenig as the car is quickly approaching 293000 kms this month. Other than that, I'm still enjoying driving the car and the money spent late last year was well worth it.

      Vibration through body (not steering wheel) under acceleration

      I've noticed the same issue after changing the front shocks from OEM to KYB - and while I don't think the shocks are to blame, it could be that there's been an issue which the old shocks covered up by not working at all after 230,000kms. I've also changed the CV joints in mine, replaced the front suspension bushings; hoping that a wheel alignment and new tyres helps this - will post back in the morning the result. Adam,

      Dashlight dimmer

      I scored a nice fairly low kms 1992 toyota starlet as a run about for work,my problem is at nighttime the dashlights are very dim and the clock is almost non existant,ive searched the dash from top to bottom and cant find a knob,switch or anything else to do with adjusting the dashlights...can anyone help me with this problem?

      Rav4 2016 ZSA42R 2WD CVT failure

      Hi Andrew, just wanted to see if you were able to get this fixed? What was the issue in the end? My car has just started making this same noise (2016 Rav4 - 97000km) and I'm worried. I've had the transmission fluid checked and replaced but the noise is still there.
