Mechanic/Panel Beater Thread Suggestions

Hey Everyone,

I've basically opened this thread so you can have a chance to get your Mechanic/Panel Beater/Detailer some extra business.

Please post any recommendations you have on places you've taken your car to that have given you nothing but quality and even possibly left you with a bit more in your pocket.

I'm basically only looking for a Panel Beater or a Detailer, because I need some areas of my car repainted and some other things fitted such as my wing tips and grill etc. I'm looking for someone reliable and trustworthy to possibly continue doing business with in the future as well. But seeming as I'm looking, I guess it'd help to post up where you guys have been and continue going to, not only for me but for other members as well.

I wouldnt go to DT panels. Some say theyre good, most of the people i know that went there now say theyre not. And after going to them, i wouldnt go to them again. It appears that the quality of their work has gone done over the years. But thats just what ive noticed from people telling me their experiences.

I got a friend who does car detailing. His really good yet his very busy. He can remove all them little swirl marks by using quality products. I have heard and seen the quality of his work and its excellent. Way better than the detailers around your area where one wash will expose all them little scratches and swirls again. He works from home though, not really a business as he does this for a hobby

Can't help on a panel beater or detailer, but I can say that if your ever in need of a service in Bendigo, I'd check out Maurie Truant Motors. He's really good value, does a quality job and looks after you well. He used to work for Toyota as a mechanic as well as Holden I believe but now runs his own business and knows Toyota's inside and out.

Artarmon Electroplating - Cheapest chrome finishes that I've found, have done various projects for me, from mine, brothers and other customers cars that I've built, gym equipment and other various parts and pieces... Always top finishes at great prices...

I got quoted by a place in Footscray 3k to fit a rear lip, wing tips, side skirts and grill to my ZZE, which I think is way too much.

Would anyone know anything that's close by, around Western Suburbs preferably.

I know, Kenshin X will probably use this to abuse the panel beater that did his rear lip lol

come to think of it... 3k isnt THAT expensive but it is on the high side... i wouldnt mind paying that if they did a fantastic job

tunehouse are good but very very expensive. i was quoted 2k for a catback exhaust on my corolla sportivo. and that wasnt even stainless steel!!!

I fixed my exhaust front end leak below oxygen sensor at Budget Exhaust Bankstown. Fadi (owner) is very friendly and looks lot of experience in the industry.

He found and fixed exhaust bracket broken in the middle of car and another leakage at muffler end. I'm happy with Budget Exhaust Banktown.
