  1. Wise words from SuperDave. :) Also to add Duy, you have to take into account if you put the dampening too high, that would affect your handling. For example, going over an unexpected bump in the road in a high speed corner could upset your car to the point where you may experience lift-off oversteer. (No bull.. :( ). Remember, when adjusting the height of the springs, you have to adjust the height of the shocks as well. :)
  2. Brand: BC Coilovers V1 version Equipped to(model): ZRE152R price: 1200 + installation customer service: Good installation: Bolt on cornering/handling: Significantly better than stock/springs. Decent enough on track for a ZRE ride/stiffness: can't comment really, I'm use to mine on 24, have been told it's too hard for daily.. :P pro's: price, does an excellent job cons: n/a other observations: rears are pretty low, yet they are on the highest setting! :D :D general lifespan: still going strong.
  3. THIS! Putting my stock suspension back in, I felt like I actually put a 6" lift kit in the rolla.. :D I can vouch for that these suspensions bit do a bit. I have tracked my car, and hell you'd be surprised how they can handle!!
  4. Have a read of this. Available 215/40R17 which meet speed/load rating
  5. It is comparing to your stock wheels. That is, if you picture your stock wheel on the car, the new wheel (with whatever offset) is 19mm wider on both the inside and outside of the wheel. I.e. your new wheel will intrude 19mm and extrude 19mm than it is currently with your stock wheels. As in reading 205/55R16 91V? 205 is the width of the tire in millimetres 55 is the aspect ratio, that is the height of sidewall is about 55% of the width R is the structure of the tyre 16 is the size of the rim (in inches) 91 is the load rating V is the speed rating
  6. Hey mate, those sizes you mentioned will fit, but an important factor is also depends on the offset of the rims you buy. If the offset is too positive (wheel goes more towards the car, eg. +50), a wider wheel may/may not fit or scrubbing may occur. For the ZREs go 17x7s, 17x8s, 18x8s etc with offsets between +35 to +38. Before you buy the rims, should make sure by having a 'trial fit'. :) In regards to tyres, there are heaps of tyres out there depending on your needs/wants, thread pattern, how deep your pocket is etc etc. Generally, the wider the tyres, the more grip and the more stable the car is. However, too wide/big and you may experience more drag, more fuel consumption. For what size tyres to get, use this TireSizeCalculator. Try get a tyre size that has less than 3% difference compared to your stock wheels. This ensures your speedo is not out of whack when you put on your new wheels/tires. :)
  7. Awesome work man! Can't wait to see this one day; the next time I'm up there! :D

  18. 5. Removing the front bumper This is the part that might be nerve-racking if it's the first time! :P Starting with one side, grab the side of the bumper and gently pull it out. It is held by clips and will detach. If it's the first time, the clips may/may not be held more tightly; you need to put a bit more force in detaching it. Once you got the first clip or so detached, the rest the clips pretty much follow. Once you have done one side, more to the other side and do the same. Once both sides are detached, carefully and slowly pull the bumper forward to you (if you're standing facing your car), forward enough so it can sit on the ground right in front of the car. STOP! Before completely removing the bumper (out of the way to another location) - If you have foglights, detach the leads that connect to the foglights - If you have the Levin ZR model with headlight washers, also detach the line that connects the water reservoir (on the left hand side if you're facing the car) to the headlight washers in the bumper. Now you can do whatever you needed to do! ENJOY! :D
  19. NOTE: TOCAU and I do not take any responsibility in any way, if you damage your car following this guide. Do this at your own risk; if you're not comfortable, ask someone for help! This is a guide to remove the front bumper for pre-facelift ZRE Corollas ('07 to '09). Facelift ZREs differ slightly however, this can also be used as a guide. :) What you need: - Ratchet set with extensions & 10mm socket - Flat head screwdriver - Phillips head screwdriver - Some nerve if it's the first time :P Let's start! 1. Grab your phillips and flat head screwdrivers. On each side of the front wheel arches, there is a screw unit and clip. Screw unit thingy: use your screwdriver to undo the screw. Once the screw is loose, you can take the whole screw unit out. Clip: using your flat head screwdriver, twist that clip 90 degree left or right and remove. 2. Remove the plastic lining/covers in the engine bay (facelifts do not have any lining/covers like pre-facelifts). - The clips highlighted in blue circles (above): to remove them, you press them down and remove. - The clips highlighted in red circles (above): to remove them, you use the flat head screwdriver, and 'pop' it up gently and remove. Once those clips removed, you push the bottom end of that clip so it's ready for re-application later on. 3. Removing screws for the bumper (top) Grab your ratchet set with 10mm socket. Remove the following screws highlighted in blue circles below. The clips highlighted in red circles are the clips you use the flat head screwdriver as mentioned before. 4. Removing screws for the bumper (bottom) Again using your ractchet with 10mm socket, remove the following screws from underneath the bumper. On each side, there is a screw in front of the wheel guards and in front of the fog-light flaps (access to fog-lights). Note: you don't need to use a jack, I used the jack to get a better photo. :)
  20. Welcome aboard! Feel free to keep PM'ing me if you have any other questions. :) Also, have a look at the ZRE FAQ if you haven't already.
