  1. This is insane! Props to you for doing this! Peter.
  2. You sir, are a mad k*nt! Hahahaha good work! Absolutely love it! By the way, I've applied for some vac/graduate jobs in the WA..see how that goes hehe :) Peter.
  3. Nice choice on the rims! Looking forward to the pics! :) What suspension did you get or is that a surprise? :P Peter.
  4. Thanks Ray, but I'm just trying to catch up to yours.. :P Do you track yours? I'm tempted to go with friends end of year! nar LOL only go for the occasionally mountain "drive" :P Hahaha it's good fun! I LOVE it with the coilovers! It's good to be a TOCAU supporter! This forum has given me so much, the least I could do. :) As with updates, not much really since it's been so busy at uni. I have just changed the damper settings to F:20/R:15 clicks from softest. Probably will get a Cusco rear sway 16mm, but just not sure how it will fit with my BC coilovers. I know I've said this before, but plan to black my badges. The only thing is stopping me is that with the 'Levin ZR' badge (yes I want to keep it). Is there such a glue that forms like a gell (like window glue adesive), so you can fill the gaps in the writing, paint the rest of the badge black and then remove it so the lettering remains unaltered? Or just bluetak will suffice? LOL While I'm asking, how much would it be roughly to colour code the front lip? Thanks, Peter.
  5. Good work! Looking forward to your progress! But damn, where is all this unlimited funds coming from..? For Pedders, see juvenlle, shin0bi or dutchie. Peter. EDIT: Should also see this thread.
  6. Probably the same light blue camry!! And it was nice! Anyway, always see sportivo with "VVTLI" plates, black rims & silver lip going on Huntingdale Road towards Princess Hwy every morning when I drive my brother to school. Not sure if I have seen you on here or not, but if you are, PM your number - would be great to meet up with you at meets. Saw Trung (Tru-star) at Sandown shooting range when I was driving home yesterday!
  7. No need for a jack. I wouldn't rely on a jack while working under the car anyway. Sometimes a slope on a driveway helps as well if you can't fit your head in for a peek. Yep, don't need to use any jacks, just might have to do it blind depending on how low is the car.. And you can take photos the next time you attempt for remove the front bar? It will be great help for future facelift ZRE owners down the track. :) Peter.
  8. I think John says it all. Hehe I think everyone is waiting for you to do these things have you have said you'll do. So please do it asap. GO SON! :) Peter.
  9. I don't lift up the car, I just feel the location of the screws using my fingers and use an extended socket ratchet. Although I'm thinking of buying a pair of ramps, make things a bit easier, especially when changing oil etc. Or did you mean in general? I use a trolley jack and stands. :)
  10. Let me guess what you're thinking John.. Personally I don't like the wheels but it will rip us on a straight.. Haha!
  11. If anyone has part numbers for various body kits or pieces, PM me. Let me know if I need to add/change anything. :D Peter.
  12. This is the location of the bottom screws you need to undo for the pre-facelift. Should be similar to the facelift ZRE. I guess I should add this to the ZRE FAQ as well. If you got any other questions, check there first then ask one of us. I will be continuously updating it. :P Peter.
  13. Hey, how did you go? If you look at the photo I posted before, the place of the rag is where the black connection to the reservoir is. Either block the hole with something or let it drain completely into a bucket and put it back in once you're done. A.Rice: I don't see anything different except that when I took the photo, I did not put the CAI in yet. The wheel arch screws on the youtube video are not the same. I say don't follow it. Yes, you're right - one of the screws you undo on the bottom is the screw you undo to replace the foglights (explained in the car manual). Peter.
  14. Hey mate, The facelift bay plastic surrounds look slightly different to the pre-facelift. Referring to the first picture, it's probably the two middle red screws and perhaps the blue screws immediately after the front grill. For the pre-facelift, it's just screws along the grill/immediately after the front bumper, and 4 screws at the bottom: 1 in front of each wheel arch and one roughly 1/4 from each side of the wheel arch (similar position to the two middle red screws in the first picture but underneath.) With the sides, you are right. There are two (for pre-facelift) screws on the wheel arch (tyre side) into the front bar. You just unscrew these lightly until they get loose. Don't unscrew them all the way, leave them attached to the socket and pull that socket out. Then you're ready to pull the bumper off! Not sure if it's the same, but should be very similar! Goodluck. Hope that helps! Peter. Edit: Ahh Johnny bet me to it, I type too slow! Yep, 10mm socket and totally forgot about the reservoir (it's on the right actually)! Remember to disconnect your foggies too before you remove the bumper! :)
  15. Hey mate, All of them will fit. I would get the 2nd one with the bluetooth. It's handy. But if you're not fussed about that, then go for the first one. It will fit. Peter.

:( :( Glad to hear your partner is alright!
  17. Bill is going to sticky/pin this. Since ZREs are becoming more common, I thought I should make a 'ZRE FAQ' like the "ZZE FAQ" that currently exists. So like the "ZZE FAQ" thread (props to Evan), this FAQ will be constantly expanding as time goes on. If there is a question here that is not answered, try doing a search first before posting another thread. If you think there is something that I should add, don't hesitate to PM me (this will help reduce chatter in the thread). Hope this is useful for future questions. Please check part numbers with manufacturer before placing any orders, as I WON'T be held responsible! ------------------ Last edited: 18/08/2012 Q) What is the difference between a Pre-Facelift ZRE and a Facelift ZRE Corolla? A) Simply External differences. The Pre-Facelift ZRE (below) - 2007 - late 2009 The Facelift ZRE has a 'sharper' front (different grill, headlights & foglights) and different rear (different taillight, different shape bummer & with reflectors). In terms of interior, facelift has a slightly different steering wheel shape, different headunit and different looking handbrake. Facelift ZRE (below) - late 2009 - current Q) What is the difference between '07-'08 ZREs with '09 ZREs? A) Both are pre-facelift ZREs. Differences are: i) Gear ratios (slightly different and '09 ZRE has longer throw). ii) '07-'08 ZREs have metal-type oil filters whereas '09 ZREs have a paper filter type. iii) '07-'08 Levin ZRs have keyless entry sensors only on the driver's door, whereas '09 ZRs have it on front passenger side as well. iv) '09 ZREs and up have VSC. 1. TRD Parts For all your JDM TRD goodies, look here! 2. Wheels The stock wheel sizes for the ZRE are: i) Ascent: 15x6 steel with 195/65R15 91H tires ii) Ascent Sport, Conquest, Levin SX/ZR & Ultima: 16x6.5 +45 alloy with 205/55R16 91V tires Stud pattern: All grades - 5x114.3 Wheel nut thread: M12 x P1.5 Want to buy wheels? Check first using Wheel Offset Calculator & Tire Size Calculator. Generally, people have gone 17"/18" by 7-8" wide rims with +35 to +40 offset. Best to search or ask/PM someone first before buying! 3. Air Intake Mods Before buying any intake mods, please read this thread!. There have been some "Check Engine Light" (CEL) problems that initially came up; however, these seem to have somewhat disappeared. Please read it before making any decisions. Also, it has been debated here whether the pod needs covering or not. Suspension: Q) Is the suspension for the ZRE hatch and ZRE sedan the same? Is the Facelift ZRE suspension the same as the Pre-facelift ZRE?
