  1. Nice mate that's really bright 8000K! How much did you pay for it? Zee
  2. i understand that it's prolly hard to describe the difference, could u get some pictures for us to see, please ? ← Will try to get some pics when i meet up with him next time and will post it but have a look at some earlier built Stivos if yours is built late 03 or 04 and vice versa. That could also probably explain other things..
  3. Are my eyes playing me or does your signature says modified TRD CAI and ITG filter? :P
  4. I had that since Day 2 or 3 of my purchase, told Toyota and they said if it continues they will machine the discs. Mine is not severe but you can feel it if you are attentive. It is more noticeable for me when going downhill and at low speeds coming to a stop. I also noticed my brakes are different to Screaminrolla's brakes. His is an earlier 03' built Sportivo and mine is December 03 built. Our brakes look different. His car is Silver
  5. I don't think you need the lightweight flywheel but i could be wrong because most guys here that resolved the issue have the lightweight flywheel. One thing i know is that some lightweight flywheels cool the clutch better as they have holes in them.
  6. That probably explains why our gears jam at high revs.
  7. Good dyno results, really interesting to see the 1ZZFEs not that far behind the 2ZZGEs. The Stivos with 104,105kw atw and have already been modified with CAI and exhaust. A stock Stivo probably pull 95kw atw. But Northy's 86kw is with mods so its really interesting.
  8. Nah, Wollongong first and all you in queensland should come along too
  9. Very nice!! I thought that can in the boot was NOS :P You brissy boys want to make a trip down Wollongong sometime? :D Zee
  10. The automatic Accord Euro has very nice torque characteristics mid range (3-5000rpm) and pulls strongly up top too with peak power at 6800rpm. Driving on the highway is a breeze especially up hill. But with Peekay's red Stivo i think it had the edge. :D Yeh, put full body kit and a GT-wing! Will look like a grand tourer!
  11. Nice car Peekay, congrats! What was your impression of the TypeS?
  12. I have most of your "problems" mate but you can choose to look at them differently. Most are just some minor quality lapse in my opinion. Number 7 is also a problem for most of us. Problems 8,9 ,and 11 are gearbox and clutch related. Whining in the gearbox could be the diff's sound, scraping when downchanging is most probably clutch related. I currently have slight vibrations which i can feel through the shifter when downshifting to 2nd gear. It appears when clutch is fully depressed. This can also be either gearbox or clutch related. But i suspect the clutch contributes to a lot of the issues.
  13. That is what's going on with the Stivos and it can cause either crunching, sticking, rattling, vibrations or a combination. Rollamods can you please advise Toyota of your expert advise and coax them to fix it :P These people have no idea what is going on initially and when we try to tell them its the clutch/flywheel and people that changed the clutch/flywheel fixed it they say they doubt it. But only recently, Toyota acknowledged its a clutch fault but still stubbornly refuses to offer a fix.
  14. Thanks Xoom, i will be sending emails to the three men. There will be some rather harsh words, no more holding back. They took our money and they now treat us like idiots and think they can get away! Not without hearing what i have to say Zee
  15. Richi, the problem occured from Day 1 when i was a LIFT virgin. I have found that punishing the car makes the problem less noticeable.
  16. The thing is they won't take our word for it. Besides they can always say the clutch/gearbox performs okay under normal driving conditions. Well we can argue that the gear crunches but can we replicate it? It never ends and will go on and on...
  17. Oh mate, you better believe i've tried and so did many of us with the problem just ask Xoom. He is the one that went head on with the honchos. What we get is there are not enough people reporting to dealerships which i have been doing every service since my 1000km service. So Blackrolla, i know what you mean by TIRED! It is bloody Tedious!
  18. How about we all threaten to sell our Stivos on the same day and let the press know!!! I am thinking of sending one last email to Toyota Australia asking them about this issue and i will let them know this will be the LAST letter/attempt and i am utterly disappointed with the outcome. I will also let them know i am going to spend money on replacing the clutch and flywheel which WILL fix the problem. I will offer them an opportunity to cop half the cost but if they refuse i will not argue. Maybe that's why there are so few Celica owners in Japan!! I will keep the car until i see a suitable replacement and will not jump into buying another car now. This might be my last hi-performance car (big claim) as i really want a Hybrid for my next car:P
  19. Was driving to Strathfield from Shellharbour today and along the way i cannot believe how bad the roads are up there. I thought some areas of Wollongong are bad but that was horrendous! My Stivo is lowered and i can now understand why Toyota made the Stivo's suspension the way it is. I can hear rattles and thumping when i drive along those roads, the harshness is almost unbearable. But once i got onto smoother roads, ahh heaven! :D
  20. I had that happen to me twice, not racing anyone just slowly shifting. Add another 3 times when racing someone, and that is 2nd gear only. 3rd gear hmm, i think i crunched 3-4 times as well. So there you go if my gearbox breaksdown it will be 2nd or 3rd gear. Should cost me around $2000 to fix. An MY97 WRX will cost $1600 to fix 2nd gear. Option 1: You should start saving for that day when Toyota refuses to cover our gearboxes. Option 2: You can invest in a better clutch to stop the problem and our gearboxes might last for years to come. Option 3: Sell/trade in the car for a terrible return. A 1 year old Stivo will get between $23-$26K. I know how you feel mate and its all up to you. I think if this is the only problem and you love the rest of the car, get it fixed and keep the car because its just a great value package. Zee
  21. I am up for TOM's Flywheel. I will be getting a TRD CAI with that order. The Clutch kit and Flywheel will cost between $1000-$1200 depending where you get it and what brand. I am heading towards Exedy H/D Clutch Kit for $425 (comes with thrust bearing). I am getting that from a local Brake/Clutch specialist. Exchange rate is great now so if you guys are going to buy anything TRD or TOM's related now is the time. I will be getting my stuff from where Peekay and Stu got their's from. If anyone wants to join me in my purchase PM me and i will let the man know to see what deal we've got. But expect to pay around +-$1000 for clutch and flywheel. Installation should be around +-$500. Zee
  22. My 2ZZ-GE has 14,000kms i wonder how mine looks
  23. What did you do that poor innocent clutch, you beast :o :o Looks like you dropped it on a barbee!!
