  1. I totally agree! So guys if you want to know what mods are good for your cars, test them out on Gran Turismo first :D !
  2. I dragged my mates V6 Camry 1998 model and once i hit 2nd gear i passed him. Even in in-gear acceleration out of corners he couldn't really keep up. The Camry has got a few kms on it but my mate said it was just serviced and the motor still runs great. But they are still beautiful to drive on the freeway with a lot of torque down low and the motor is very quiet. Zee
  3. Hey guys since the forum is so boring... I bought a Celica with 2ZZ-GE on Gran Turismo 3 and tested it out on th drag strip. Then i purchased a lightweight flywheel and tested the car out again and got a 0.3 sec quicker run. I left traction control on and launched te car at 3000rpms so that both runs were consistent. How accurate is this? I personally believe it is rather accurate. :D Zee
  4. Whats everyone doing for Xmas or in 2005 For me i am giving my current career and starting a new one! :P Zee
  5. I think the pedders springs are fine and you should just invest in a set of adjustable shocks. imo not worth spending more money on another set of springs unless the pedders are incompatible with Konis.
  6. Adrian, you sure you got the dealership's name right? My dealership here in Wollongong said they don't know about this dealership.
  7. I am getting my car looked at tomorrow too and will get them to fiddle with the clutch. If its still not solved that's it, the clutch is coming off.
  8. I don't think its anythng to do with the sports pedals, i don't have them and i get gear shifting problems. My gaers don't crunch very oftehn but it does on occassions. I found that when i first changed the transmission fluid to synthetic and added Nulon G70 transmission additive which is supposed to improve shifting feel by 50% and reduce crunching, the gearshifting quality DID improve. But the gearshifetr "sticking" is still a problem. From Peekay's experience, his car after having removed the TOMs/TRD stuff and had the OEM clutch put back in, now drives with no issues. So i am coming to a conclusion that the clutch probably does need some adjustment, if not it is something to do with the assembly, or throw out bearing. Zee
  9. Will try adjusting the clutch's enagement point to see if it works for me. It could be as simple as the pressure plate not releasing fully when we have our clutch pressed to the floor. So maybe we can adjust it to release further up for more play. Makes sense guys?
  10. So you mean no more sticking or jamming of the gear shifter?
  11. Can you provide more details regarding what they did? Did they adjust the engagement point of the clutch?
  12. Did you get your old clutch back mate? Toyota could have lied you know .
  13. Whats with those people at Toyota, Jenny didn't work so why would the customer relations department work? That's bloody ridiculous
  14. You mean the gear selector cable and new gearknob recall jobbie? Had that done, gear shifter is tighter and fimer but still didn't solve the gear shifter jamming issue.
  15. I couldn't tell any difference in sound with the Fidanza flywheel.
  16. flywheel changes the engine note on idle? ← Now i am confused, i thought some of you guys here with lightweight flywheels said there was a different sound? Maybe i shouldn't have said engine :P but the sound is from the engine bay.
  17. MTBrider, you beat me to it, here's my story:- Last Monday I took my Sportivo in for a service and asked them to check out the 1st to 2nd gear shift at high RPM, when I got the car back they said they found nothing wrong. I asked if the foreman would come for a drive with me, after I shifted from 1st to 2nd at 8,000 he said I was shifting wrong, I said why doesn't it do it when I shift at 6,000 RPM, he said it will always be a little more difficult at higher RPM cause the synco's have to work harder?? MTBrider and I had a test drive of each others car today, First MTBrider drove my Sportivo and his first reaction was how different the clutch felt, he said it felt harder and had less slip when taking off and it engaged closer to the floor, after he tried to change from 1st to 2nd at 8,000 rpm said "thats bullsht" he had several attempts to get a clean shift without success. It was then my turn to drive MTBrider's Sportivo, his clutch felt softer and the engage point was a long way off the floor and had more slip, the gear shift from 1st to 2nd at 8,000 rpm was much easier! The difference in feel of the clutch would support my theory that Toyota are using 2 different vendors for their clutches. I feel that the version of clutch in my Sportivo doesn't fully dissengage, surely there must be some sort of adjustment?? I'm taking my Sportivo to a different dealer next week for a second opinion. ← What were the built dates for your Stivos?
  18. The stock suspension is hopeless, get the car lowered with better shocks. I found that by lowering the car the brake performance improved dramatically from reduced nose dive. My shocks are also starting to make noises over little bumps on the road. Just another "quality lapse" from Toyota.
  19. The Fidanza is good, doesn't change the sound of the engine on idle and startup. I am getting the T*M's flywheel and Exedy H/D clutch kit for Xmas. I think go with Exedy because the prices are more competitive.
  20. So we still meeting up boys? At the Autosalon or homebush? Maybe at homebush then we head down to Autosalon? Date and time anyone?
  21. Why didn't he inspect the matter further, could be just the clutch? The gears arn't broken are they so what for get new gears?
  22. I love your letter mate just the 141kw @ 7200rpm bit you got wrong. Should be 7800rpm if you don't already know :P Zee
  23. I'm up for it sounds like a great idea! We can do a photoshoot like the 500 WRXs did, parked on a lawn near parliament house :D Zee
