  1. The last episode i saw had the 2 Civic Type-Rs wanting to take on the Sprinter which had the new engine with 11,000rpm redline. I know the first Civic TypeR lost and the driver was going for the 2nd fully race prepped Civic TypeR. I think this episode was a year or two ago and Takumi's dad bought a WRX 22B Sti. The Sprinter had a little run with it and couldn't catch him. What happened after that?
  2. Hey Craig are we unlucky or what? The dealership i went to also failed to resolve my issues, they even rang Shane at Nunawading Toyota (their words). I am also booking the car in at another dealership to have a second look. For now my new TRD CAI mod is keeping me happy
  3. Just Filled up this morning, I did 572km before the fuel light went on. :) . I avgerage about 580 to 600 with the other 98ron based fuels. Mind you on this tank of Vortex 98, i had 2 races, 1 against a 92 SX rolla hatch and a 93 Civic sedan with a DC3 Integra Type R transplant!!! ← Any pinging with Vortex98? DC3 TypeR what is that? I know there is a DC2 and DC5, and how was the Civic's performance?
  4. Good to hear positive outcomes on the clutch adjustment. The guys i brought my car to obviously didn't do it to my car, but they only received the fax and email from Toyota after. I will be bringing mine into Toyota again for a second shot at it.
  5. So you using all your petrol money in exchange for scooners at the pub :P
  6. They wanted to charge me more than $75 for the injector clean at Toyota since my 10,000km service. I don't beleive in having it done unless you have been pussy footing your car but for me i usually open her up at every chance i got. Some 98 Octane fuels would also have some sort of fuel additive that helps clean the system (i know Shell Optimax has). I know this injector clean is more thourough and more effective but i don't see the need to do it, its not even mentioned in the service manual. Unless your car is running weak and have clocked a few kms. I used to use Shell Optimax a lot because it is more accessible and its the first 98octane fuel. But now i use BP Ultimate more than Shell Optimax only because they label their fuel as 98Octane at the pumps and offer a fuel guarantee ;) Don't know if Shell does the same.
  7. Visit the TRD website and talk to Bruce at TRD sales for prices as it varies due to exchange rate. I would recommend keep the Corolla as it is and get the Sportivo as Egene pointed out Otherwise save all that cash for "refreshing" your 180sx. You will need it.
  8. Mate the JDM Spec 2ZZ-GE IS OUR 2ZZ-GE. Actually they are 1KW down on our adverstised 141KW at 140KW! Check the JDM Toyota website and search for the TRD tuned RunX. They tell the whole story of the TRD tuned RunX and how they managed to increase the stock 140kw (190ps) to around 150kw (215ps) if that is the figure you are looking for. Zee
  9. Th echo will only be released 2006. Don't listen to the salespeople, they don't know anything...

:D :D :D I find this funny, welcome to the forum rolla82 and LNE15. Zee
  15. The Exige has a higher redline than ours to start off, i think around 8500rpm and their gear ratios are also different. It also does 0-100km/h in the 5 sec range stock, imagine what it would do now! Also, Jason drove my car to have a feel of my shifter and his comments were "Its bloody horrible" :( He was shifting at 7800rpm and he's quite good at it landing almost in Lift each time but he says its too notchy and stiff. He says he needs 110% concentration to shift right and the driver has to be quite brutal to get the gear shift in the right slot. He even crunched the gear once when making a U-turn... He is really passionate about the car and say he can do great things to it, like his own Exige. The best would be the close ratio gears allowing the car to stay in LIFT no matter how slow you shift.
  16. I don't have prices with me but it won't be cheap once you get to engine components. But if you are serious about extracting every killerwatt of power for track driving, then this will be the ultimate NA tuning and costs come second. This is serious stuff, no bolt-ons. He ported and polished the 2ZZ-GE and basically replaced every major engine componet except the cams. His engine is like a TypeR engine, hand made stroked 2liter 2ZZ-GE! The thing is the 2ZZ-GE has great potential if you are willing to spend the money. The cams in the 2ZZ-GE are bigger than the VTEC cams so there is no need to upgrade in that department. The one drawback is that the 2ZZ-GE's valves can be damaged easily from over-revving during downshifting. So if you are serious get the valves changed before it pops otherwise you can risk damaging other engine components.
  17. Hi guys i spoke to the owner of Southern Motor Works (16 years in business, Albion Park Rail, NSW) today and saw his Orange Lotus Exige in the flesh and it looks awesome. I spoke to him about the Sportivo and guess what, he can do some serious engine work to the 2ZZ-GE to make it output 55NM more torque and much more power. His Lotus Exige runs a 1min 6sec at Wakefield Park! Try to beat that time with a 2ZZ-GE powered car.. In comparison, i see Ferraris doing 1min15sec and Porshe GT3 do 1min13sec. A heavily worked TypeR DC2 and a Mirage Cup car did 1min12s. The mods on his Exige include close ratio gears (improved performance dramatically), stroked engine to 2000cc, light weight valves, pistons etc. all working with the standard ECU. He also has a more agressive rear LSD installed allowing him to maintain power drifts! The rear slicks i saw tell the story. Jason is the man to speak to and he knows the Bates team and Lean Ferrier. His Exige has been used as a show car for the Chance of a Lifetime challenge. They will be racing the 141kw Exige next season instead of the 88kw Elise. His workshop has a Toyota mechanic with 10years experience and has an AWD dyno. He does mostly WRXs everyday, turbo Mirage, Lancers etc and of course his own toy the 2ZZ-GE Exige. If anyone wants his number you can PM me or check the yellow pages. But don't go ringing up and annoying him. Ring up only if you are serious as he is very passionate about the 2ZZ-GE but he is also a very busy man working on many other hi-performance cars, even power boats! He even has a spare Lotus tuned 2ZZ-GE engine on the workshop floor with TOM's flywheel and h/d clutch. That engine will be his next project. Zee
  18. I cannot make it, i have an appointment at 7am. I don't think i will beat that record anyway since my car is stock. That car you are talking about is the i know who isn't it in a Silver Stivo? He should have a few more kws now :D
  19. I was told today this clutch grab issue can cause serious synchro damage and the crunching will obviosly break a tooth on the gears in the long run. If you break a gear, Toyota will most probably refuse to warrant it as they will say its caused by driver abuse.

BECAUSE YOU LOVE IT!..........and you know who else loves it??? ya mother :P *taken from the pot of noodles ad. and has no bearing on Danthuyers feeling and or relations to Zee's mother what so ever!....subject to change if i ever meet her and she is a M.I.L.F. ← You up to no good again Craig.. Pot of noodles? Never seen that ad, and what is that abbreviation M.I.L.F? btw my mom is lovely :P
  21. No mate insurance won't cover any track incidents. You are fully responsible for your vehicle. If your car needs to be towed they charge you for it, or if its leaking oil they charge you for sand. Just got to use our common sense out there really and not do ridiculous things. But the track is a very safe place to drive our cars, much safer than the street with no trees, poles, pedestrains etc. Make sure your car is roadworthy, maintained, serviced and i think street cars need to be insured. Also we arn't supposed to be "racing" on open speed days just drive really fast! :D Today there was a Ferrari 360 Modenna that kept spinning out of control and facing the wrong direction. There was also an incident where it wanted to enter pit lane but missed it and it just STOPPED on the straight!! He also grabbed REVERSE to try and reverse back into pit lane! 3 cars had to practice evasive action and E-braking to avoid scratching his $300,000 vehicle <_< Common sense...
  22. Depending on its size we can stick it on the glass at the rear or on either side of the rear windows.

yeah trying to chase down you, Zee, E-Gene and xTIGERx ← This is my 662nd post!! :P Why am i spending so much time on this forum!?
  24. Yep, Vortex is now 98 octane ... they changed Ingall's number to 98 just for the Eastern Creek round as part of a promotion of the new Vortex fuel. ← In addition, safeway will also be offering the same fuel (Vortex98) under its brand name. ← Otherwise 98RON/Optimax users will go to Coles only and Safeway/Woolworths will lose customers.
  25. Yeh we should just turn up on an open speed day. It will cost $80 for that day, $20 helmet and $20-30 club comp licence for 1 year. That way we get to run other cars too.
