  1. But didn't westerntoyotatechnician just say they CAN do them on cars not purchased from them? But anyway it doesn't matter cuz i am getting my local mechanic here to do it for me, labour is close to nothing and even a full clutch/flywheel install will only cost $250. I rang Wollongong Toyota today they quoted me $700!!!!!! Then i thought i will ring the Illawarra Business of the Year - Tory Toyota and they quoted me $610!!!!!! WTF is wrong with them!!!! They will probably charge you $200 to get the clutch adjusted!!!
  2. Yeah i read that on their forum if you click on my clicky that said "Post-cruise comments" there was an MX5 SP turbo that said there was a Corolla (Not specifically a Stivo) that dragged him? Maybe i should go find out and stir their nest :P where was that posted??? I never read that, but yeah, it was none of us, we never raced anyone, just a nice leisurely cruise down the leisure coast :P ←
  3. Will be there for sure! I'm in for a cruise up there and back down!
  4. How about a new clutch kit Dylan :P
  5. Did u buy your car from them though bcos some dealerships won't touch our cars if we didn't buy from them since its a warranty issue. ← wtf? ← Got told by either Sydney City or Western Toyota a while back when i tried to book car in. They just told me to bring it back to where i bought it.

  7. I had a look at the map, the Macquaire Pass looks cool .... :D Anyone knows if there are some nice twisties(mountain road) near in Sydney area?? :D ← Just come for a cruise down south :P , express your interest in the club meets section and people will turn up! Z
  8. Hmmm... now on second thoughts i would either spend very little on a sh&t-box and modify the crap out of it or spend more like 25grand and get newer models like an S15 or Supra. 15grand budget feels like i will get stuck with choices? btw, Skylines and RX7s are out of my equation. Only FWD i will consider is TypeR. AWD is out, i had a MY97WRX before and know the problems 2nd hand AWD cars have :( Silvias are still my favourite choice, invest in a set of coilovers, good rims and tyres and get a new clutch and i think they are ready to hit the track for some rwd fun. Hopefully the engine and tranny holds up. Cheers, Z
  9. Or Whiteline for same price, i think their Springs have lower spring rates than Kings and matches well with Koni Shocks too.
  10. At 800ks i took my car to Mt. Keira and gave it good flooring to about 7800rpm.. i think that will be my run-in route for my next car if not i will atack Macquarie pass and its 2 dozen hairpins :D Anyway, the thump is due to the clutch i think and your driving method.. The clutch in most Stivos are very abrupt (which i think has something to do with the shifting woes..), "thump-and-lurk" as described by some. Z
  11. The Injen system looks like its stainless steel? It would be better to use aluminium since its lighter and it disipates heat far quicker. Same for intercooler piping. But looks cool though and looks similar to the AEM system.
  12. That's bad news man, and that's what i am worried about too with frequent crunching and gear sticking it can damage the synchros, not to mention break a teeth off the cog. And winter won't do it any favours since the gearoil takes heaps longer to warm up. :( Are you getting them fixed under warranty by Wollongong? I have taken my car in for them to look at with Jenny's letter and everything and even got them to ring Shane at Nunawading Toyota to find out what he did to the other Stivos but they cannot adjust any further and mine still has the same issues from Day 1. It can only be the clutch and i will most probably be letting my local mechanic do the job of putting the clutch and flywheel in since they only charge $250-$300 labour compared to Toyota's $400-$500. They are all mechanics anyway and my local mechanic probably has more experience than some Toyota apprentice. Btw, about 4 months ago Tory Toyota's Manager said he will get back to me after seeing Jenny's email and fix me up a date with the regional technical team but up till today no replies. Well i sort of expected it, they wouldn't like anything to do with it. I also brought my car to Stewart Toyota at Sutherland and also no improvement. So its not like i haven't tried!!! Plus my stock clutch can probably go soon, so no point wasting my time with them. Z
  13. I'm in for them to have a look and get service done. If not i have a clutch and flywheel waiting to be put in but will probably let my local mechanic do it. Cheers, Zee
  14. There is a Lexus dealership in Sutherland beside Stewart Toyota in Sutherland NSW. Has anyone dealt with them, are they any good?
  15. There sure were plenty of RCSs, but all Toyotas combined i think we still had a bigger turnout of Toyotas than the Renaults The EGG looks cool man, like an Influx Junior! :P Didn't even get to speak to yous ozecho boys there or check out your cars. Hopefully next time we can have a chat and a cruise together. A Wakefield trip shouldn't be too far away, would love to see you guys there and hopefully even the Altezzas and the Clio Sports of course. Z
  16. I know where that KK is, been there once but i was in Melbourne that day so there was no way i could turn up.. Next meet please!
  17. dude, i keep reading that u are late to all these meets... ← :P Only got home close to 2pm today from the airport, was in Melb the past 4 days. Didn't check into the forum while i was away too so didn't know if anyone was interested. But 4 Stivos turned up plus the OzEcho boys, a few cool Altezzas, close to a dozen Renault Clio Sports.. The RCSs left Kiama just as i got there. Unable to compare performance this time, but probably a good thing since my concentration today wasn't too good, fell asleep at the bloody wheel a few times.. There were even a few MX5 SPs there but i didn't see any at Kiama.. ANyway i will keep myself active at the RCS forums and hope to catch their next one.. Post-cruise comments
  18. I also contacted him regarding a set of black ones.
  19. Too bad i could only get there late :( was pretty buggered after my trip but still good to see all the cars that turned out! Next time its Wakefield :)
  20. Who said there will be racing :P ? Just enthusiastic drives along Jamberoo pass and some back roads.. i reckon the RCS are heaps quick along those twisty mountain passess. ← get some shocks, stay in lift, u'll be fine :P ← Yeh, my shocks won't do me any favours and my tyres aren't too impressive after my trips to wakefield.. The clutch is also dodgy.. hehe, it seems like my chances are now 1 in 10 :D
  21. That doesn't leave much choice does it.. :o unless we get new rims with it? Or stick with same size tyres.

  23. Love the avatar man :D and who's MX-5 was that, pretty nice ride! I also looked up pricing of MX5s and they ain't as overpriced as i thought. Also was thinking most drivers are mature women and men that like the open top sunday cruise so they are usually very well taken care of. There are some really good ones around and very new, low kms too. I think they are great track cars for novice rwd drivers like me :D not over-powered so i won't end up on a telegraph pole..
  24. Just wondering if any of you guys want to join in.. i will go if i can make it in time, will return from Melbourne 0900hrs that morning. Check these out: Froggy forum - Stivo bashing Cruise details I seriously want to have a crack at some RCS :P (i think i have a 3/10 chance of against them and should be close if i get it right)
