  1. You'll be amazed what sort of hidden damage there is after a crash. After I totaled my celica the guys at the shop showed me just how bad the damage was, sure the front was mashed in, but they told me to take a close look at the roof, which had bowed under the pressure! That and I cracked my transmission eh heh...
  2. If its raining, like properly raining, or dark... or in a tunnel then yes, lights on, otherwise off... cause I look a little silly with popup headlights on during the day!
  3. I wont comment on the other stuff, but $4000 for satnav!?! Save yourself $3700 and get a navman or garmin, seriously how often are you going to use it to justify such an extortionate price? Labour prices are pretty much industry standard.
  4. I have GIII's on the rear and they are not very good in the wet. Dry traction is very very good, wet... definitely not super duper. I'm not sliding all over the place but anything over half throttle and I'll spin in a straight line no probs.
  5. My window seals where... 62382-14140 - Roof Side Rail Weather Strip LH - AUD 110.00 62381-14150 - Roof Side Rail Weather Strip RH - AUD 110.00 I installed them myself. Obviously your part numbers will be different. Thats from http://www.amayama.co.jp/ who is majorly cheaper then local dealers. Your seals will be a similar price, they don't tend to vary that much unless you have a silly car like a Merc... I don't have huge wheels, 16x7, nothing fancy at all, tyres still that much. For the boot, grab a big pack of dynamatt, yeh its expensive but I covered the whole of my boot in my old Celica, was lovely.
  6. Wow $80, I think my last front tyres, which I cheaped out on, where about $160 each. Re: Wind noise, your car is getting on a little in age (says the person with the 19 year old car), you might find that the door and window seals are starting to harden and not seal as well as they used to. They aren't exactly cheap but replacing them might help. I know my door seals are junk, but I did my window seals shortly after I got my car and it helped (didn't realize at the time the door ones where gone too, or would of done them too). With sound deadening the wheel wells... I don't think you'll get much of a difference. Try some better tyres.
  7. You can tune VVT on a PowerFC. Not much it cant do. You dont need a wideband to tune VVT... if its getting dyno tuned you can just use the dyno O2 wideband, you only really need a wideband if your fiddling with things yourself.
  8. Where did you find a RWD 3S? Is it from an altezza? yes it is Absolutely go down this path, blacktop BEAMS 3S-GE engines are epic, one of my fav engines for sure.
  9. Those ford engines are pretty big, I'm not sure if it would fit, you'll need to do some measurements. Your bigger problem is finding a good RA28...
  10. Ewwwww dont put a ford 6 in there, keep it in the family! Pop a 2JZ-GE in there. Good power, lots of aftermarket. Then if you feel like big power later, add a turbo.
  11. Most places I know charge about $50 per rim.
  12. The M1 was BMW's only true supercar... mid engined and crazy. If they make another M1 it will be in the same vein. I think it'll be faster then the current gen M3, but then they'll shortly after release a new M3 and so on and so on. I'd love one as a hatchback as well ;) I prefer the hatch.
  13. Having seen under both... yeah completely different. Wont fit.
  14. If you give Toyota your chassis or VIN number you should be able to get a new plaque from them if you want it! Any ideas on the power the new turbo is putting down? Tidy piece of kit.
  15. Got a new jack and some new oil... 10w40 Royal Purple... fkn expensive stuff!
  16. Very nice, so lucky to have a PowerFC! Theyre so hard to get for 1JZs now!

Was told on monday mines on the way (eb online store). Should be here tomorrow yay!
  18. Small update, car progress is almost nil. As I have been unemployed for a bit over a month now I have not been able to spend any money on the car. However, my brother being a legend got me a EBC for my Birthday last month and last weekend Rudi being of similar legendhood gave me a hand wiring it in... in that he did all the wiring. Results: Turbosmart E-Boost Street 40PSI Boost now comes on earlier, around 2600rpm, which is around 3-400 rpm earlier then before, it also comes on harder and I have dialed in a couple more PSI as it holds it better. However... because I can only street tune it I cant dial in boost correction, so its actually set to 14psi and fairly quickly drops down to about 12psi. If I set the duty cycle higher for more boost it hits cut, and its it hard and fast. Solution? Dyno tune it and get some boost correction in! Its so easy to do but I need precise numbers so not going to try on the street... yet. Should get a quick SAFC re-tune anyways if I'm dialing in 4psi more I suppose, but its all stuff I cant afford! Rough tune aside, its gotten the results I've wanted so far (more response), so for now it'll do. Should last the life of the car as well... don't see myself ever going higher then 40PSI! Next up... sort out clicking noise coming from front right brake at some low speed maneuvering...
  19. Oil will get thinner and leak when its warm, its not the tranny shrinking. I doubt anythings cracked just go get the seal replaced so you dont go and run the car with no oil in the tranny (then cause real damage).
  20. Maybe he was referring to the cost of a turbo on its own, can get a ebay spec turbo for pretty cheap, or a second hand garret etc.
  21. Take your car to a better mechanic. If your loosing that much trans fluid you prolly have a fairly big problem.
  22. its 02 corrola levin not sure on the budget, just want to get an idea of what i have to do and wat it will cost It'll be cheaper for you to sell and buy a Sportivo then if you want more power. If you want turbo, buy a turbo car or be prepared to spend big money!
  23. First things first... whats your total budget and what model Corolla you got...
  24. Drove it for the first time since Thursday. Hate not having access to my car! Trying to figure out this EBC... too many wires for me!
